over here
its so cliche`
almost every love story is predictable.
the plots in asian dramas are so complex and deep.
and the culture is way different too.
so its fun to watch

i kinda disagree with you. i mean ofcourse american and asian dramas differ. but even asian dramas are becomming a bit too cliche, after watching a lot of them. i also disagree that some american dramas aren't as complex or deep as asian ones. i don't watch much of the american ones but my little sister does and she says its different from asian dramas but they're also "complex" and "deep". just in a different way. Have you watched any of the american shows? if you stopped and tried some you'd know. but that's just my opinion and you're entitled to yours too.

As for the main topic. I just got tired of watching american shows. used to watch csi vegas, house, smallville, and some other ones but i just got tired of them. and then one day i watched "Full House" and got hooked to watching asian shows instead. It's different, its interesting, a lot of cute/hott asian chics, and its just pretty addicting.

well yeah there actually some stories
i was actually thinking about the romantic comedies here.
not that its like all EXACTLY the same
but it has the same vibe.

same here, and also because asian actors are more goodlooking

hehehe... you're right about that. which actors do you like?
me, i find Se7en, Ikuta Toma and Koike Teppei very goodlooking.

i think almost all of them are really goodlooking
but then yeah i can name a few who are my favorite's

kazuya kamenashi
matsumoto jun
nakamaru yuichi
wu chun
mike he
the one's you named are also really goodlooking
if you grow up watching american soap operas you'll understand why i said almost all of them are goodlooking

have seen mike he and wu chun.. yup they look like americans.. but i dont know about kame, or maybe its because of kame's eyebrows.. heheheh..

well kames eyebrows don't bother him when i like an actor it is not only because of their look ok the one's i mentioned i think are really goodlooking but there are a few whe i think are less goolooking but have something else that makes them stand out

I like the plots and how much more condensed they are. I can watch one whole series in 3 days or less and that just works for me. I still watch north american shows but they can go on for so many seasons, which isn't bad but sometimes i just want to know how something ends already. lol

I'm in love with asian dramas because the story is about something that I can relate to despite it being foreign. Here, in America, all there is to watch are shows that centers around sex, drugs, and violence. It was exciting at first, but now it's repetitive after a while. I used to watch Dawson's Creek and Gilmore Girls, but now that they're gone and are replaced with Gossip Girl or 90210, to me, it's just like another teen drama. With asian dramas, it's always a slice of life with some interesting twist to make it different from the rest of the other shows. Plus, it's more emotionally moving. I laugh, cry, get angry, etc...and I am more entertained, which means that I am more invested in watching every episode to see the next episode. I also like how it's short. Every single episode is different because it needs to present a new idea/plot in about 12-20 episodes. I like that I can finish it in a few weeks, maybe even in a day, depending on how long it is. It's easier to commit and finish a 12 episode show than to a show that lasts for how many seasons. Sure, I would want to see Hana Yori Dango japanese version more, but i think that if it lasted for more than a year, i would have been bored with it and the great factor wouldn't be as big as it has now. It's in like every drama fan's list of favorite. Another thing i liked about asian dramas are the actors and actresses. I'm Asian myself, so I can relate to them more, fashion-wise. I love Asian fashions because it's easier for me to copy and pull of rather than some of the stuff in American magazines, especially with the hair. And lastly, I like learning about different cultures, especially about Asian countries.

I enjoy each and every addiction!! Love the emotions that surface in me because the storylines are so deep.
