My job is actually a lot more normal than I made it sound but it wouldn't have sounded dramatic enough to be considered "something interesting/weird about you" LOL. So I'll leave it up to your imagination

But to make up for that boring piece of info uhhh. I used to live in Japan? Probably not that interesting but I'm out of ideas atm zzz.

I'd like to live in Japan!

I went there for the first time in August 2016 and I loved it. I can't read/write/speak Japanese though (I only know a few words thanks to watching anime) so I'd need to study lots to even consider staying there long term.

Oh nice! Where in Japan did you go?

You might be surprised though, I saw some people living there who barely knew Japanese besides the standard "arigatou" and "sayonara". They mostly worked as English teachers/tutors. But yeah it'll be a good idea to learn at least the basics of the language so you can avoid unknowingly offending anyone, and to fully immerse yourself in the culture. :)

I don't think you need to be completely fluent before living there though, because the best way to learn a language is to place yourself in a country that uses it daily. As long as you have the foundations, you can learn along the way if you wanted to.

I suppose my apprehension stems from how I don't want to be perceived as a.... burden / nuisance, I guess? I don't like the thought of irritating people there because I can't communicate in the native tongue
