is it just me or does anyone else notice that each gokusen series basically repeats?... like... for example... theres always a student that has a girlfriend, then something goes wrong, making yankumi go all 10 minute speech before kick ass... when ever they ask who yankumi is and she says " Me? im their homeroom teacher" then the bad guys laugh like idiots, after the bad guys get their asses kicked the "boss" of the group tries going for a punch, gets owned and says "i`ll remember this" then runs off like a fairy boy, and the ENDING, oh my christ >_> same damn thing, that find out she`s in the yakuza and then everyone goes all im not graduating gtfo...then the head teacher saves the day by shutting the principal.. or chairman..... personally i like gokusen.. but they needed to come up with new... or atleast better things for series 2 and 3...if there was anything new that i might have "missed" while watching these could someone please tell me >_>?

or... is that how the whole series in general is suppose to go..?

I agree with you. I feel like watching a remake of Gokusen I. The storyline is almost the same, the main difference is the cast. And i have to say, it's starting to get annoying.

But this: "Me? I'm their homeroom teacher" seems to me just like those oh-tia-tia of Sailor Moon, lol XD

Something new in the series? Yes, the great view of the Park near their school
I think that if there's Gokusen IV, i'll ignore it... After all, it will still be the same.

Maybe, who ever wrote the storyline, found it charming how the series repeated itself?

Or maybe they were simply lazy?
Yep, deffinitely.

Even though they're similar, they're showing different ways of how Yankumi's teachings affect them. I like it, its better than #2.
#2 is just more of a repeat of #1, like how Teppei's character gets hit in #2, & same with Oda in #1 (I totally forgot their names XP) & their eps is about love/gf thing.

All-in-all, I like it, wasn't boring, still made me cry XD

& MAYBE!... there might be a special. Cuz I mean did they run into the group in yellow yet from ep 1 of Gokusen 3? The leader said "I won't forget this" or something like that. If not, we won't be seeing the last of them just yet.

For the special, I was thinking of like both leaders in #3 get beat up by a bunch of them, Yankumi sees them but all of the sudden the 4 main cast members of #1 like Shin, Uchi, Oda, & the other guy.... (in which I don't think anyone likes him, I'm sorry >.<) comes in & saves the day (well if its "a bunch" then maybe the other main characters of #2 should be in it as well), they meet up, reunion. They say something like "we read in the newspapers/tv about the 3D class & their teacher, we knew it had to be you" kind of thing. They catch up, etc etc (idk what else to put in as fillers >.<) & I TOTALLY WISH, that Shin would confess his love about her. & come back in #4 a few times or so *imagining the look on Yankumi's face when she thinks about what Shin said*

I wish they do more of their holidays in their eps, I would love to see what they do. Like its common for japanese to eat a christmas cake (I almost typed "keiki" XD) on Christmas Eve. (I) Wanna see more V-day & Wh-day, New Year, Coming of Age, etc etc. Their culture is very different from what we do, but its fun & interesting to try. I can't wait for Christmas to come, I'm gonna make my very first Christmas Cake.

Addition/Edit: Oh! I was also thinking they should do like Gokusen Summer (I was thinking about holidays to put in XD) Any ideas how Gokusen Summer would work?

I liked Gokusen 3 even though it does repeat I mean when I was watching it I knew what was going to happen before it even happened but it was kinda fun in a way. Each Gokusen is different in their own way, but Gokusen 2 was really funny ( I think ). It was nice to see some fresh faces in the mix but another thing the Gokusen trilogy has is that there is always a JE entertainer in the mix and always they are a main character.
Gokusen: Jun Matsumoto- Arashi
Gokusen 2: Kame and Jin - KAT-TUN
Gokusen 3: Yuya - hey say jump

But if they come out with a Gokusen 4 ( OMG) I will probably watch it, I mean I was shocked and didn't think they would do a third season but they did so who knows?

It is too formulaic. I also wonder about a few things:

1) Why is it wrong for the students to fight, but it's okay for Yankumi to fight?

2) How do the bad guys always beat up the good guys with metal pipes, but they never suffer from broken bones, concussions, death?

3) Why is it that Yankumi's family is yakuza, but we never see any tattoos or hints of illicit business? Would that prevent the show from being shown in a prime time slot in Japan and put it in a more mature time slot? Or is it just easier for the writers to only show yakuza as intimidating but ignore the fact that they are criminals?

uhm, i've got to agree with the whole repeating itself thing. well, school would always be like that neh? i mean if she's always deployed to a school where punks generally own the place, then almost the same things happen. but i noticed some changes like someone actually gets hospitalized! though it was kind of disappointing to see him recover in two weeks time from a near-death experience.
the last season was stronger in friendship ties.
though i must admit that her lengthy speech everytime she fights off thugs is kind of annoying. oh, and no one knows about her secret yet, except the students and kyoto. the parent-teacher-thingy was about the misbehavior of class 3d and not one her being the fourth gen of the yakuza.
and i don't think it's completely necessary for her, yankumi, family's business to be shown because it's not the focus of the story. remember that she doesn't want anything to do with it. yankumi fights the thugs instead of the students because it's a major offense in school which would lead to expulsion. besides, if she fights them, there's little chance of them getting back at her if they find out about her being a yakuza which they should know or would eventually know, being a gang and all.
but yes, the main plot is the same, the story witht the characters yada.. yada.. yada.. with just a little tweaking. the audience buys it everytime so i think the writers don't find it necessary to change the story drastically. but that's just me.

Yeah the plots are almost exactly the same with all three series. It's for this reason it has taken me so long watching all three series...I keep dipping in and out of the show but I'm nearly done now.

Weird how Yakuza families are seen as somewhat honorable and moralistic when they are criminal families. Still, the people change and they are good at picking casts and always have a bit of eye candy for us viewers! Jun, Jin and Ren!

Yeah, repetition is kinda boring. The plot keeps repeating itself and I think they should make something new! But I don't mind if it keeps repeating, I'll always watch it! He he. And ooh, I see long posts! Ha ha. I'm so random. Sorry 'bout that.
