Time doesn't heal wounds completely. Time lets you forget. As times goes on, you will find new things to do, and new responsibility to uphold. You will find new and important things to worry about, so you will put what ever is causing your wounds behind you but it won't probably go away.

It just stays in your subconscious level, and it won't come back up easily until something triggers it.

Base on my experience, "Letting go of the past, and facing the present and future" is never going to happen.

Hm I'm not sure. Perhaps. I think the wound probably becomes less devastating over time, but there's still the occasional pang every now and then as a reminder of how it got there.

I guess that depends on how the person handles certain situations over time though. If some choose to keep reopening their wounds, it doesn't matter how much time passes by. They won't heal.

I mean this by emotionally. Do you believe that the time will pass by and you'll get over everything soon? I think that the time heals all wounds, BUT not exactly every wound.

How about you guys?

Well Social Scientists have shown that death of a child permanently lowers a parent's level of happiness. Of course there are exceptions to the rule - situation where the parent and child were not close etc, but generally, parents apparently never get back to their "old selves" following the death of a child. So scientifically speaking, time apparently does not heal all wounds.

Time heals all wounds by acting like a grindstone.

Time grinds away everything, your pain, your loss, your hopes and dreams -- and everyone you love.

Time mercilessly grinds everything down until even the mountains become sand at the bottom of the sea.

Time heals all wounds in the sense that time is an all-consuming force that seek to weather away everything in reality. Whether your memories of a tragic incident simply grow so old that you can no longer remember them or whether you actively put them behind you, time assists you with either forgetting or outright destroying bad memories.

Some memories, bad or not, are too important to be forgotten, however. Those serve as permanent baggage if they aren't dealt with.
