Do you read fanfiction?

I read them occasionally. Sadly it screwed up my grammar skills.

Used to read them all the time since i was stuck in a class where we had to do one to two hours of reading with very limited site restrictions and it was fan fiction or ghost stories, and at the time i read all the ghost stories at the site i found. I found out the next year that the site was banned, but I had already graduated.

I did read a few good fan fiction, but the horror it took to find them. So many self inserts, plot-less stories, and stories where the character personality is changed unrealistically and drastically for no apparent reason except for the author will.

The experience taught me a bit of a lesson in story writing and what and not to do while writing any story.

I only read fanfiction if the characters are completely in character and it makes sense.

It's hard to find good fanfiction, and I don't want to spend more time looking for a good author than I do reading their stories.
