it made people more dumb and stupid... i guess filipinos should open their minds more on things that would give them a little bit of knowledge not some cheap, cheesy form of an entertainment.

dramas are good for some time, but not all of the time... seriously, drama plots are repeated and not even interesting a bit, some are even way cheesy. people don't realize it but its the trend of drama in this country. some may realize about it but still they wet their pants on it... geez...

I agree with u there.
The Philippines needs more love....

And I think ( I said I think so don't kill me) That its also because Filipino movies are losing their creativity
So they're moving to foreign dramas.... =_=
Sometimes people can be too gullible and start worshipping the unimportant stuff... =_= and ignore/forget their nationality
Not that dramas are bad or anything but......... y'know.... ;___;

They need to start watching more educational shows

(once again don't chew me out this is just my opinion)

Effects.... I'll just say one....

Some gets an overdose of this dramas that TEENAGER GIRLS are getting too annoying...
"Nuuuu I don't want Actor A to come here coz he's mine"
"I don't want him to have more fans when they see him"
etc etc

Copying fashion style, loving their culture and other things is fine....
But getting an overdose is so not cute

The news are not even interesting anymore... Makes a good reason for me to resign at TV, probably forever. I'd rather spend hours sulking in front of the TV watching discovery channel than these senseless shows. GMA so far is the worst channel I've ever seen... Full of crap, nothing good.

its just that filipinos are more accepting than other cultures.. we don't discriminate.. if we find the show appealing then we
go gaga over it unlike others who thinks their own showbiz industry is the biggest thing and are not open to other stuffs.

so the effect is we don't limit ourselves in exploring others' blah blah !

Filipinos teens are getting more confused with their national identity.
Some teens are starting to show unfamiliar expressions in the Filipino society.

some years ago, i was one of those annoying girls that was crazy about it
it started cause of those cable channels on tv and because of the internet, the fascination kind of grew
my friends were influenced soon after and we were fangirling 24/7. our mp3's mostly consisted of korean/chinese/japanese songs and we only watched cjk dramas.. we even went to the noraebang (korean karaoke), started eating korean food and even bought official korean merchandise.. anything korean was gold in our eyes haha we liked korean men but never really wished for them to be our boyfriends--that's the major misconception. we just really liked their entertainment biz.

did we lose our patriotism? depends on how you define that.

let me change a few words of what i wrote.

up until now i'm listening to american songs, a portion of my mp3 contains english songs and i watch hollywood dramas and movies.. i even sing english songs in the karaoke and i eat hamburger, spaghetti and even bought food straight from the us. anything imported was gold in my eyes. i like foreign men.. they have nice eyes and tall noses but never really wished for them to be our boyfriends.

its a little hypocritical to me--this notoriety kpop/cpop/jpop fans are receiving cause its so weird to like korean, japanese and chinese stuff for others. at some point, everybody was crazy about spice girls, backstreet boys, boyzone and up until now we're still crazy about english songs. nobody said anything about being unpatriotic when we sing in english! stars are parading their foreign brand labels on local tv--louis vuitton, gucci and channel--yet nobody uttered a word.. right now we're dressed in clothes inspired by america and nobody's saying anything cause if we were truly pinoy from the start, we'd be wearing abaca, filipiniana or a bahag! and right now, we're even speaking fluently in a language that's not of our motherland..

the nation have always been fascinated with foreign goods. its the effect of being colonized by other countries for hundreds of years.

I remember when Boys Over Flower started on airing a few months ago, many of the girls I know went crazy about the male characters and I totally am clueless why. It appears to me that these characters appear "ideal" to most women that's why. Good thing the hype slowly cooled down when the show concluded to an end
