Don't get a Honda, you don't want to be associated with "those" Honda people. Be different and get a Suzuki SX4, it's a nice 4door compact/sporty car and it gets same mpg as a Nissan Sentra. You can find one for as cheap as $7K.

Also guys be realistic, he has around $6K tops, so that's a definite no to an 2000+ Audi A4, a MazdaSpeed3, Volkswagen Rabbit, or anything else that retails around their price.

the toyota corolla is a great first car. it is reliable, fairly safe, inexpensive, and the gas mileage is good.
never buy a new car as your first car. if you wreck it, you're fucked. |

Im a big fan of the Ford Probe, its an awesome starter car, you can eventually do alot to! Iv seen these things kick in street racing and car shows alone. Not only that, has great mileage very comfy, the hatchback gives you lots of space for a killer sound system. *Granite mine is manual so the mileage vary s depending, I know I can get just shy 500miles before I need to fill up when going between Missouri and Michigan.*
Why are they a fav? For starters they are cheep to afford, can get a nice one for well under a American grand. You can find parts almost everywhere, and are overly customizable. Surf the net a bit on them. I suggest a GT so you are auto up with a 6 Cylinder and for the love of cars get a manual not many know how to drive them I know but in all honesty they are EASY to learn and once you do, you never forget. Manual = better mieage, and more power and all out funner to drive. http://www.probeaddiction.com Basic everyday Probe; ![]() Working on it as a project car could end up with; ![]() ![]() ![]() |

thanos369 wrote: Hey guys, I'm about to get my first car. What would u guys recommend? If possible post pics. simple answer, get a honda/acura, who cares what other people around here think about them, (quotes like this "oh civics are gay" or "everybody has a honda") simply many people have hondas because they are good and worth their money, unlike many american car *hint, ford*. if you want reliable, cheap car that gets good gas mileage, there u have it, civic, integra, prelude, accord, you name it. they will all last you a very very long time, and if you feel like getting a new car, its also very easy to sell because people buy them very often, and the other option is to modify it to go faster and that's not too costly either. toyota is also like this, good recommendations are corolla and camry. Words for others who post ridiculous cars here, don't do it, this person simply asks for what a good starter car is and there's no reason to confuse him by putting unnecessary thing on here. it seems looks are not important for him and he wants a cheap car under $6000 that's reliable, so lets help him out with good reasoning and personal experience. anyways, i hope i am of some help to you. ![]() |

Acura is just as closely related to Honda, I drive an Integra and I haven't had a single problem, not even from the cops. azn099 wrote: the toyota corolla is a great first car. it is reliable, fairly safe, inexpensive, and the gas mileage is good. never buy a new car as your first car. if you wreck it, you're fucked. +1 Kingston316 wrote: Well I am A street and track drifter I am King of east side so I use A Audi r8x or my Double SS with a 850 big block chevy engine. It's a silver lowered Integra on OEM Integra wheels with a USDM front end. Call me crazy but I like the USDM front over JDM. |

Some people just take buses to work instead of driving to lessen the cost of fuel + insurance. Then "maybe" start driving when they start making better money. I've been a paper driver for a couple years now. AKA, I got my liscense at 16 and then learned how to drive a stick, but never got my own car to drive for commute or recreation purposes till just last year. |
