Attention Internet.

Why I would I care if they track down the sites I visit? Well the pift.exe file is obviously a hacking tool. They can know my name, my age even where I live, so what?

You seem to be the type who walks around shouting "WHO HERE WANTS TO STEAL MY IDENTITY?!!!" and my answer to that will be "yes, now kindly hand over all of your information including SSN and the CIV codes of your credit cards." Typically, most people don't like waking up to find that their credit score has been trashed beyond a decade's worth of repair and a cute little tab they'll have to deal with. |

That's why I don't trust the internet.
McAfee is a good virus protection sofware. I don't know if anyone else agrees, but it helps my computer from threats and other harmful things. I feel completly safe, but that doesn't mean I take risks. Norton does suck, though. |

Psyence87 wrote: Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide To me, this is quite important. To both users and non-users of Norton Antivirus software. Recently a few of you may have had a popup saying that 'pifts.exe' wants to access the internet and asks for your permission. Pifts.exe seems to be attempting to contact a server in Africa and so far it is known that it reads and records your internet browsing history. When Symantec customers posted on the forums asking about it the posts were removed and the users were banned. Banning their own customers is a little strange, just what are they trying to cover up? Virtually no information is available on pifts.exe on the internet and when something appears the website is immediately removed. Even Digg went down for several hours for posting about it. Furthermore, when I run a Google search for 'pifts.exe' it says there are around 300,000 results but the search has been tampered with as only two pages show. A few moments ago the Symantec website went down for 'maintenance' and when it came back up all of the pifts posts were removed and the word 'pifts' was banned from the website. Also, one person contributed this: PIFTS Public Internet and File Tracking System It goes offshore because there's no law forbidding sending it to foreign governments. If governments want to spy on their own citizens, it is normal for them to have foreigners do it in order to get around normal restrictions about spying on their own people. This is why there have been reports of the file sending data to Africa. Tinfoil hats on guys and girls. We've got a conspiracy on our hands. If anyone wants more info I have several websites discussing it and giving updates when they happen. Discuss. is there a way to delete it? i remember seeing that while installing my norton antivirus....i clicked on that pifts thing cause i thought it was something apart of norton -__- |

Ok, first I don't have a credit card and have no plan in using one, I don't even experienced using/having one. Yeah yeah I'm old fashioned, for me credits cards are called convenient loans, and I don't like loans, I use an ATM card though. Second, I don't buy anything online, there's nothing worth buying online here in the Philippines anyway. Third, I don't even live in America, yeah they can fiddle with a Filipino's indentity, for what?! I even scattered my resume on the internet! Prevention is better than cure. ![]() |
