Great explanation chinaboat!
But just want to contend one point. I thought Misuzu died because the human body isn't able to take the spirit of a winged being. *edit* Aaahhhh just reread your post, and I realized that u did mention the above, but then mentioned in the next point that she died because of Haruka. I believe that the curse was broken by Yukito, and she died because she couldn't handle the spirit. |

It's like trying to watch the third"Matrix"movie, and everyone in the theater gets up when it's over, and they ask"what happened to Neo?",that makes it a bad story,If you lose the audience with that high minded bull.

Personally I loved Air not only for the amazing art work, ost and character designs, but for the deep and intricate story line. You can't compare a well thought out story line like Air to a Hollywood flick, that just shows how blinkered your view is. Air is told from 3 points of views and each point builds on the others in an orchestral manner. Each time I watch it, or read a well thought out post, I get a slightly expanded insight into the story and the characters. I personally loved the huge discussion that went on when it first came out. The sign of a good story is how it can still generate such interest even after it has been released such a long time ago. Basically I think that Air just isn't for you! /hops off soap box.... |

If the discussion starts out with, "Please explain to me what the heck this story is about?",then you have failed as a writer/animator.
mahousaru, how can you say,"You can't compare a well thought out story line like Air to a Hollywood flick"?.The only diffrence in a Hollywood flick and an Anime movie/series,is live actors vs. animation, the production values for both are nearly identical. |

Only difference is live actors vs animation? Do you know what a Hollywood flick is? Do you have any idea of the politics of how a movie is made compared to an animated series. Yes series as Air TV is a series. The budgets are massively different, so many Hollywood films take safe and well known recipes when making them. A Hollywood flick is designed to be shown in the cinema and is ~1.5 hours, which means everything has to be crammed into a very short space of time. You have some rare instances like LoTR, but generally it is wham bam thank you ma'am! Air as a series has much more time and lee way to tell a fully developed story, a story with depth and intricacy. |

No,but look how many people were asking questions about what happened in the end?.......................and I think there are more ignorant people in this world, than intelligent onesI'm not sayin' everyone that didn't get it is ignorant,I'm sayin' it's the writers job to make it clear what he's trying to convey. |
