I knew quite a few Asians in school (probably why I was able to pass), you're one of the first I've met that was lazy, though. I had no asian friends growing up, I just ate Pho for the first time 2 weeks ago, and I'm the biggest twinkie you're ever going to find. I grew up with good friends, but we were all lazy in school. I'm not surprised i'm the only one you've met that was lazy, i get that a lot. I guess i'm just not you're typical asian... :| oh well. |

Haha, well I wouldn't say they're my "friends" but yeah, they're a good set of rentals. But hey, it has some drawbacks being so laidback, it turned me into someone who's a big procrastinator, lazy, and well.. Maybe if i had more discipline I would do better in school. Like right now, I should be doing this online assignment for this project, but i figured it's a waste of time since it'll take me 2 days and it's due tomorrow. Project is 75 points, and the online assignment is 20 points... I'll get a 73% if i don't do it and get 100% on everything else, sounds reasonable, right? ![]() i love deadlines but i think if that online project is easy, you should rather do it |

You have to read / do a pretest for each section of the chapter. There are 6 sections, so reading + pretest takes 1 hour per section, 6 hours. Then there are 4 tests at the very end, the 4 tests take an hour each as well, which is 4 more hours.. On top of that, you have to get a 75% or higher on the pretests to take the tests, likewise for the tests in order for it to count. There is no going back to retake the pretest/test. So for one chapter it's 10 hours, there's 4 chapters. Not worth 20 points. /end rant. Back onto topic.. |

Basically, no one in my family has ever graduated from college either because:
1. They had children at a young age. 2. They dropped out. Now that I'm turning 16 at the end of this month and getting closer to college, it's becoming more difficult. And the sad thing is, if I fail, I'll only be looked down on since: 1. The other half of my family believes I was spoiled my whole life and know nothing about the world. ![]() 2. That since I'm being homeschooled and finally get into college I'll start to meet boys and end up like everyone else in my family either broke, alone, bitter, money-greedy, have a child out of wedlock or actually has a child with a father, but is misrable does drugs, has no job and drinks. So yeah, I have a lot of shit to do. In a few years, I'll probably be the only person in my family to finish school. |

i respect my parents,so even if they interfere,i wouldn't fight back. But i've make it clear to them that theres a limit to what they can do.
anyway, they didn't interfere at all. Making everyone's life easier. |

spensaur wrote: Looooool @ asian american parents. My parents are second generation. My parents both grew up in a good house hold, but they both did not attend college, do not make a lot of money, do not speak a word of Japanese, well, they aren't very "japanese" at all, they are beyond white washed. The outcome? Laid back parents who tell me to do what ever I want to do that makes me happy. I started out doing good in school, slacked off in high school, and doing better now. They rarely scolded me for getting C's and B's just to get by the boredom of school. They told me I needed to shape up and I never really did until senior year of high school getting straight A's.. They don't push me towards anything but doing what I want to do in life and trying to help me do it. My parents are dope. if only my parents were like you two's when i was younger - then maybe i wouldnt turn out the way i am now. lol. |

My parents did attempt to pressure me into things, thinking its for my own good.
but it only caused the opposite effect. and they never learn from their failed efforts. so now that I am legal, and of right age - no chains attached - i can tell them to fuck the hell off. |
