Cancellation of recurring payment more difficult than expected

Not sure if anyone experienced this, but when canceling the recurring payment plans, those survey questions that are presumed to be optional, actually require answers for the cancellation to take effect.

I learned this the hard way and had thought I canceled my account, only to find it hadn't take effect. And now I'm charged with the extra amount, even after requesting for a refund, which has been declined :(

My suggestion, if anything, is for the administrator to make these questions optional for the future users, since these survey questions are independent of whether the user want to cancel or not.

Just wanted to share this in case anyone else runs into it.
