The End of the Dream
Posted 1/23/11 , edited 1/23/11

He sat there in silence, in the lowest underground prison level, the 8th prison Avici. For the past twenty years he sat there bound, gagged and blinded, serving out his 20,000 year sentence. The fools! Did they really think he wouldn't be prepared for this event? Did they really think that these restraints could hold him? He was god and god couldn't be held in prison, not for very long at least.

He laughed aloud despite being gagged. It was muffled and didn't echo off the walls of his dank, dark prison cell but it was a sound, something he could hear. It was something besides the incessant dripping of water he constantly had to listen to. He was so bored and he was tired of waiting.

"Patience..." He thought, "The time is nigh and my return will come soon. All is ready. I must be patient."

The heavy iron door opened slowly, squealing as it's ancient hinges were put into use after so long a time. He rose his head and grinned behind his gag. A woman in a taichou haori approached him. Her face was devoid of all expression and her eyes dulled over. Her movements were rather robotic yet she moved in total silence until she stood in front of the man bound in the chair. He looked at her with blinded eyes as she bowed low then rose again, ascending her eyes to look upon his mummy-wrapped face as she removed the gag from his mouth.

"All preparations are complete Aizen-taichou."

"Excellent my pet. And these damned restraints?"

"I apologize for taking so long with that but you must understand that Urahara-san's kidou is practically unrivaled and it took me forever to scape up enough data to analyze his technique... But not to worry. I've finally reverse engineered it and I am capable of removing it entirely."

"Perfect. Now stop wasting time and release me."

"As you wish my lord."

Amaya stood back and then closed her eyes. She began chanting and raised her right index finger, tracing a rune in the air which glowed momentarily. The light intensified and Aizen's restraints began to glow a dull blue until they too intensified. Aizen smirked, waiting for her to finish. He was so close he could taste it. Amaya continued and spoke out in an even, steady voice.

"Hold of the unseen demon... Silken strands of eternal bondage... Abandon the fire... Dissolve the marriage... RELEASE!!!"

The glow of both the rune and the bonds flared blindingly for a moment then all was dark once more. With a soft hiss the bands holding Aizen to his chair dissolved into wisps of smoke then nothingness. He stood slowly and pulled off what was left of the wrappings from his face. He then opened his eyes and looked down at Amaya with his devious brown eyes and an enigmatic smile. He leaned down and kissed her cheek softly then whispered in her ear.

"I always knew you would not fail me my pet. After all, you have all the traits I've ever admired from your predecessor and then some. Too bad he couldn't see you and just how much you've surpassed even his genius now."

"Hai Aizen-taichou."

"Hahaha. How ironic you call me as he used to. A side effect I suppose. Perhaps a retained memory?"

"Perhaps Aizen-taichou. If you will, you should rest until you've recovered from being isolated in the dark for so long. I've prepared a place for you in your old laboratory. It's been sealed off ever since Kurotsuchi-taichou raped it of whatever he thought useful and no one goes near it anymore. You will be quite safe there so long as you hide your reiastu."

"Very well, let's go."

Amaya turned toward the door and began to walk when she noticed Aizen wasn't following. Turning back around she noticed he'd opened a garganta. She expected to be chastised but instead Aizen simply held out a hand to her. She moved quickly to his side and accepted it then he led her inside the time/space vortex. In a blink of an eye the garganta opened up again within the walls of his old laboratory and they stepped out. Amaya felt a bit queasy as she'd never travel in such a manner before but remained quiet about it. Aizen looked about and noticed she'd cleaned the place up and prepared him a simple bed in a far corner. She'd even set the lights to burn dimly for him. He nodded approvingly then turned to face her, brushing her cheek with his hand before lifting her chin with it. Amaya remained stoic and emotionless.

"I am pleased. What of my Kyouka Suigetsu?"

"To my knowledge it has been hidden far away from here. I have found no record of where it was taken but if I ventured an educated guess I would say that it is in the possession of Urahara Kisuke in the material world."

"I see. I have a mission for you. Go and gather as many Espada as you can find that are still loyal to me. Bring them here and after I set them to helping me destroy this place you and I are going to go on a little fishing expedition in the material world."

"As you wish Aizen-taichou. I shall leave straight away and will return soon."

Amaya bowed once more to Aizen then turned and left on her errand while he strode over to his bed. He sat and rubbed his eyes. Amaya had been right in that he needed to recover. It seemed that even dim light irritated his sight.

Amaya traveled into the deep night in search of a certain arrancar she knew to be a former Espada. Cid was his name if she remembered correctly. The one called Custodia had said that name or at least that's what was reported to her. In her opinion it was better to approach an arrancar that was in full cooperation with the king's assaination ordeal than to approach those who were in control of Hueco Mundo at the moment. She'd have a better chance of convincing this one of helping and in turn he could perchance convince others to follow Aizen.

She was having trouble tracking him and frowned. She was sure he was nearby but exactly where eluded her. She stopped a moment and scanned around trying to locate his reiatsu trace. Yuri was good in that she effectively kept a record of all the reiatsu traces she'd found during the incident. After a moment she headed off again and hoped she would find her target soon. It wouldn't be good to keep Aizen waiting for long.

*chink*
Sparks flickered yet evaporated into the sky.
*chink* *chink* *chink*
It continued to happen, again and again. And about now it was starting to really aggravate him. "You think since it was fifty cents the piece of crap would be worth something. Its the dollar fifty's that are--" His head raised. A familiar reiastu was floating around the area. He lowered the lighter and put it in his pocket. He wasn't a smoker, he merely wanted to know how easily it was to extinguish a flame... Starve it of all its oxygen and watch it suffocate. Yeah... thats what he wanted to see or maybe, not exactly. Genji leveled his eyes, squinting at first to see through the nights darkness. Who was out there? "All I know is that its a shinigami... is it her?" Jumping to a more empty space, he knelt down and placed his hand on the cold surface. Closing his eyes... "Yeah...Yeah... I hear you..." He grinned. "Who are you huh?" Each of these words, each said to himself. Genji pinpointed what area this person was going in and followed her. "HAY, who are you?"

Amaya's head whipped around at the sound of another's voice. She was so absorbed into following Cid's faint reiatsu trace she didn't notice another trace. She frowned then stopped. There weren't supposed to be any shinigami patrolling this area and it'd be bad if she miscalculate and made herself look suspicious. laying a hand gently on her zanpaktou's grip she called out to the stranger.

"Who goes there?"

The ground soundlessly rumbled and Genji raised up from the ground a yard and a half, from him. Both his arms were crossed, as if dissappointed.
"I think it was me who stepped around here first. Who are you to ask me such a question like that? Who are you and whats your business, shinigami?"

Amaya felt the ground vibrate and her frown deepened. If this guy was who she was thinking then there might be trouble. She watched the stranger intensely and kept her posture. She listened carefully and searched for more reiatsu traces. There seemed to be none. After a short pause she replied in an even, authoritative tone.

"Minagawa Amaya, sanban taichou. And since you know I'm a shinigami it goes to say you're no ordinary human though you don't quite appear human to me, perhaps a shinigami as well? If such is the case then you're the one who should be answering my questions. I ask again, who are you?"

His face scruntched up at her name. "minagawa amaya..." repeating it, he got the answer he wanted...and immediatly lost interest. Genji raised yp ontop of his shoes looking around as if suddenly more shinigami would begin to appear out int the area. "you're not her..." genji huffed. "its none of you're business who i am. Whats a shinigami taichou out here doing all alone by herself anyway huh? Besides, im not a freaking shinigami."

Hasan walks across the air patrolling for signs of suspicion when he looks down and notices two figures amazing suspicious.

"should i check" he asks himself as he walks down in circles as if coming down a spiral staircase "i guess so"

Hasan steps onto the ground and walks toward them slowly reaching at his zanpakuto

"what seems to be the problem?"

Amaya began to become annoyed. She wasn't liking to have to play games with this person. She had more pressing matters at hand and a mission to fulfill. Perhaps it would be better to just eliminate this little problem? But then again if he was what she was beginning to surmise he was it would be more difficult than she'd want to deal with. It was then she'd noticed a new reiatsu and Hasan appeared before them. Ignoring Genji, she addresses him.

"Hasan-taichou. No real problem per se. I think though I've come across some kind of rouge shinigami with amnesia. Though he appears to be one of us he claims he is not. What do you make of him?"

Genji brushed his hand over his hair. "Genji Chikyuu, a NOT shinigami individual who currently stands before you. Dont talk likeim not here damn it."

Upon hearing Genji's snide comment Amaya turns to look at him. It appeared that he had a weakness to exploit but she wasn't inclined to push him at the moment. She smirked then retorted.

"My apologies Mr. I'm-not-a-shinigami. I suppose you're going to say then that you're just a plus with too much reiatsu?"

Genji pushed his hands in his pants pockets and leaned hos body forward, smirking as his eyes darkened. "Not too many shinigami come around this area... What mischief are you up to huh?..." he looked her over. "you're a captain, thats for sure...but you're not on a mission...hehe, Amaya...what are you up to."
Posted 2/2/11 , edited 2/2/11

"Hmph! Now who's talking as if someone's not here? There are two taichou in your presence and what my mission includes is none of your business."

Amaya narrowed her eyes at Genji. He was much more nosy than what was good for him. Still, she needed to maintain her cover and to do that she needed to keep a cool head. She still didn't trust him and her instincts was sending up a red flag. She'd have to ditch the situation soon whether she wanted to or not.

Genji chuckled and gave a small wave off at the other taichou. "i could care less. Besides you're not who i thought you were. Do whatever business you please it doesnt concern me." he pulled out his lighter

Amaya began to get curious. Who was this mysterious man? Who was he looking for? She wondered if maybe he'd be helpful later as well. Deciding to fish for information she questioned him.

"Oh? And just who were you looking for? Perhaps I can help you out. Perhaps I actually know this person?"
