Has anyone looked into the possibility of streaming crunchyroll directly to the ps3 via a mediaserver program on the computer? Programs like ps3mediaserver or tversity can easily stream video files to the ps3 so why not just create a program to capture the webstream from crunchyroll and then transcode it and re-stream it to the ps3? Does anything like this exist or can it be created?

If its not clear what i'm trying to ask please look at this amazing mspaint diagram i made.

i might be able to help with this (but dont take my answer as fact as i am just a user)
it is a licenseing thing some independent person would have to do this
i used to use red kawa file server it sorked ok for low qual music
but for this to work the video would need to be downloaded in advance then converted
i dont think there are any on-the-fly video downloader, converters, and streamers software that can do this
if there were you would need massive bandwidth and massive cpu/gpu prossessors (the telsa prosessor [supercomputer on a card] might be able to handle this)

Answer is no, unless you do it your self in which case chances are it might be illegal. There's already plenty of devices that Crunchyroll plays on, don't hold your breath for a PS3 app though.

Please! Make a APP for the PS3. Sitting down on a computer and watching anime just is so tiring. I rather have it stream on my PS3! Look, if it's so complicated, then I'll pay a extra fee for the streaming on the PS3.

Thank you.

This with this plugin works. Unfortunately, the software isn't free, but you can try it out on a trial basis for a bit.
