Not sure if anyone here is familiar with Mount and Blade, but if you ever log onto Steam, then you probably have seen the advertisements. Fire and sword is the 2nd expansion to the original game and is coming out in 2 days If you don't know anything about it I recommend you do a YouTube search on mount and blade,

This weekend you can get all three games for 20 bucks on Steam, and I know I sound like I'm advertising for em, but I think a lot of you guys would like it. There's tons of mods out there, and one multi player mod in particular makes it amazing. cRPG mod turns mount and blade into Counterstrike but with swords, shield, horses, and arrows. It's just as addictive and is a pretty basic concept, capture or defend a castle.
It dominated my weekend so far, but while I'm playing, it makes me want to watch mid evil themed anime ha-ha

So what are your guys thoughts on mount and blade?

Loved Mount and Blade when it came out. Loved the first expansion Warband, but Fire and Sword feels a bit like an half finished mod. A lot of the town development for instance which Warband, and several free mods added was completely scrapped in Fire and Sword.
Now its true that Fire and Sword wasn't made by the original guys which made Mount and Blade/Warband but that doesn't really excuse, in my opinion. the missing elements which was added way before the development of Fire and Sword began.

So far, if you ask me, Mount and Blade: Warband is the game to get, then get a mod if you want gunpowder and forget Fire and Sword. Unless of course you want a game where you can be allied to the swedish king (literally) and not just something resembling the swedish king.

I loved mount and blade warband, was not impressed at all with fire and sword. Mount and blade did get old though and i never did conquer the map. warbound all the way though, just a bit of advice, start off as a nobleman and dont challenge for kingship too early, wait till your very powerfull first, that was always my downfall. On a side note, check out "war of the roses" by paradox interactive. Its basically mount and blade set in 15th century england. I can get excited about mount and blade again
