Right after the 24 hour black out. I don't have much to say about this issue but the federal government sure seem to enjoy the ideas of SOPA even after the large protest.

I heard from someone on MAL that this investigation was going on for two years and not the act of SOPA. So calm down.

Besides more filesharing sites will be created this is the internet after all cause beat one down and ten more will pop up.

Why do you users keep saying that in your topics?? It's not like we moderators are going to ask for your permission to lock the thread if it is a duplicate or breaks the rules in some other way.

*siiiiigh*

Here, have an alternative link too:

Let's also think about the timing of this bust. It's a pretty spectacular coincidence that the Department of Justice Task Force on Intellectual Property was able to destroy a copyright villain without any help from SOPA or PIPA the day after the internet's giant SOPA protest. Do you hear that, lawmakers? The law, as it stands right now was able to kill Megaupload.com, no draconian censorship powers required. The power you have now—with due process—is achieving the things you say you want to do. Your IP is protected. Online piracy was stopped, except for the dozens of Megaupload rivals like HulkShare and MediaFire. And I wouldn't be surprised if they're next. [AP]

@Mod : Don't assume our reason. It's just a common courtesy.

No need to tell me to calm down. I wasn't informed about this "investigation" either way. It's just interesting news is all considering what has been happening.

Aw shit. Damn, next thing you know they're probably gonna take down Mediafire. And 4shared. And so on....

Gives me another reason to fucking hate SOPA and PIPA.

Unfortunately, I guessed at least 1 file sharing site was gonna be taken down. It was pretty much inevitable.

I'm confused. Where in my post did I tell you to calm down?

As far as I can see, I only expressed my frustration with your way of showing courtesy towards mods and providing an alternative source of news that isn't Fox News. Fox News, who are infamous for incorrect information and propaganda.

When I see what you refer to as "common courtesy", is laziness. When you say "Delete if duplicate", it tells me that you were too lazy to check if there was an already existing thread and that you don't really care about your newly created thread.

There's like one thousand of those out there.

Mininova was a far bigger loss for me, but then I found Nyaa torrents and stuck with Isohunt for other stuff.

I apologize but I was directing that to the 2nd person since I don't like using quotes. I'll use another site next time since I wasn't aware of that. If I ever make another any way.

I could create my own file sharing site, it doesn't matter.

It's complete BS! Crunchyroll.com is in danger too if PIPA SOPA goes through... Any site that isn't a company like FUNIMATION etc won't be able to run! ><

It seems to me as if they're investigating sites that participate in the "black out" threats, and trying to shut them down to show off their powers.
