I'd love to come to the screening. I apprenticed for a few years at a SF sushi restaurant to learn the trade while working another job, and to have a movie made that highlights the dedication and commitment to excellence that chefs go through is a real tribute to the craft.

I remembered getting up at 6am to head to the seafood distributor in Hayward and learning how to choose fish with the master chef for a few hours, before changing and heading off to my job. Only to come home after work and spend time working on menus, sharpening knives and practicing technique with any extra time I had. The simplicity of this art is what makes it so compelling, yet so technically challenging.

I would very much appreciate to be invited to see the screening!

I saw this guy on TV before (anothony bourdain, no reservations) and I thought the location and the way he ran his restaurant was creative and amazing. I really want to go to his restaurant some day, however, at this stage in my life a screening is probably the closest I'm going to get. Perfection is interpreted through the eyes of the beholder and upheld by ppl who write txtbooks. I should win these tickets because I understand art more than anyone here. It would be nice to see this guy in action. If i don't win the tickets, well, no skin off my back. I can always find it uploaded somewhere online! hahaahahha... anyways, gimme the tikets and save me some trouble!! I wanna watch the movie and i believe only i can get the most and best experience out of it!!! thanks! bye! see you later!

I would love to attend. I am a huge fan of Japan and sushi. I visited Japan four years ago and completely fell in love and have gone back every year since. Please pick me!

Ever since watching Jiro preparing sushi on Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations, I always thought to myself, "I would have no chance in heck that I'd be able to eat there." I think this movie is actually the next best thing. Watching sushi masters at work; its like a dance. With the hands of a master, the carefully selected ingredients, and more importantly the overall technique of all aspects of sushi making. This includes making/washing the rice, preparing all the ingredients... Its all like a science project. Very exacting. After watching the preview, I would love to see this movie (and will probably watch it again and again). I love being in the kitchen and this definitely speaks to my inner being (as well as my love for sushi!).

Lastly, its so wonderful to see that even at that age, Jiro is still striving to be the best. Its a common answer when you ask a lot of wise men/women... What is perfection (in Jiro's case: sushi perfection)? Perfection is never really reached. You always strive for it. I think i'll see a lot of this in this movie. The motivation and inspiration to keep striving for the top.

I am Ceramic and Pacific Asian Studies major, and I like to learn more about Asian culture. When I go to eat Japanese food, I love looking at the ceramic ware at the restaurants. I would love to go to see "Jiro Dreams of Sushi", since my Japanese and Modernity lead me to love watching Japanese movies.

I should get it because I'm only an hour away (San Jose) from SF by car, and it'd be nice to have for my sister's upcoming early birthday (this sat)

My favorite food is sushi. I go for sushi lunch 2 - 3 times a week. My birthday is on March 26th, and I am planning a sushi dinner party at Sushi Mambo in Napa. It would be great if I could win (2) tickets to the screening of Jiro Dreams of Sushi and learn more about sushi to help me in planning the menu for my sushi dinner birthday party.

I thought the film was simply and yet beautifully filmed, featuring the man, his world, and his craft. The type of dedication he (Jiro-san) and those with whom he surrounds himself exude may seem foreign and off-putting to some, but it's this sort of dedication that's required to be a true master artisan worthy of the world's renown.

The Ginza restaurant also has a website. The chef's course is still Y30,000, if you want and can get a reservation!
