I am the creator and ruler of this group. I'm usually an easygoing, laid back kind of person, so I'll let a lot of things slide. However, I will play the "Boss" role when I need to be. As Creator, Only I CAN godmod and kill off characters whenever and where ever I see fit and to move along the story. If I ask you to do something, it's going to be for a good reason, and I expect you to respect my wishes and comply, unless it's totally retarded. Of course, If you do not agree with my ways, I would appreciate it if you discussed with me so we can come to an understanding and agreement.

Romance - Violence

If you plan for your character to have a crush on another character, it would probably be a good idea to talk to the owner/creator to make sure that this is okay, just to be on the safe side. I really don't care if a character is straight, gay, or bisexual or whatever. Romance is GREATLY encouraged, It creates Drama and opens the door to many Plots. BUT as soon as the clothes start coming off, or hands start wandering in places we would really prefer not to read about it. I mean I may be a be perv but to a degree lol. Anyway, please censor yourselves, and do a timeskip to after the "Nasty" is done. Now the thing about violence. Seeing how this a Pokemon Rp group there will be a TON of Fighting/Battling. Death is allowed. Its something I wanted to try out in a Pokemon Rp. So basically you can technically 'kill' off a Pokemon or have a Pokemon Die. Now here's the deal I DO NOT want any gore or any unnecessary crazy stuff. If this gets out of hand I will take away the whole idea. The Death thing is just an experimental thing.

Cursing is fine with me. I mean cursing is a good way of portraying angry emotions your character are having. Tho, I don't want see every other word in every one of your posts is "fuck." There are just some words you don't use, no matter what the situation is. If you're unsure if a certain word can be used or not, just ask me, and I'll tell you if it's acceptable or not.

Be courteous to your fellow roleplayers. If you get upset with another person, try to sort it out in a mature manner. If you can't resolve things peacefully, then come to me, and we'll try to work things out together. Do not just cry, whine, complain, insult or threaten people, and then leave. I have seen this, and I do not want it to happen in my RP.

Try not to ignore posts. If you forget about it that fine just try and reply to every post you were quoted on. Do your best to read over everything, even if it takes a while. Don't worry, we're patient people, we can wait. This isn't a race. Don't skip people without asking them whether or not it's all right first. We don't want to leave anyone behind just because you got impatient, and decided it wouldn't hurt to continue on without that person. However, if someone doesn't post for an unusually long time, and you've been waiting on them this whole time, come to me about it, and we'll figure out what the story is.

If you're dissatisfied or get bored with this RP, or suddenly gotten busy, and you want out, please PLEASE notify me. I can't stress this enough. It makes things run much more smoothly, instead of waiting and wondering for two months for a no-show, I won't take offense to your leaving. I'm pretty sure we all been there, I understand. So with that said if you do play "Ghost" and your playing "Ghost" for a while (for like a month) and you have NOT said a thing then I will assume you left and kill off your character in cold blood.

Godmodding - Power Playing - Auto Hitting

The only person who can do this without permission is me, The Creator. Other then that, If you wish or need to Godmod you have to have permission from the other players to do so. Don't kill other characters without the owner's express permission either. You will be hit with a warning and if you do it again your ass is OUT. Your character isn't an invincible god, they can get hurt, and they will inevitably be injured, perhaps even fatally. Your character or Pokemon can't dodge every hit, just as they can't land every hit. If your character does get involved in a fight, it's preferred that you discuss how things will play out with whoever you're fighting through PMing or posting in the OOC.

--As long as you follow these Rules as closely as ya can, then we're good

The OOC thread was made for a reason. I do not want to find half a page made up entirely of OOC comments in the actual RP.

Characters & Pokemon

You may have as many as 6 Characters. And please realize YOU MUST use them all if you make that many. I honestly recommend like 3 or 4 but just dont get overwhelmed that's how characters get killed off. In order to make them fair and all. I made this Character limit. Also no Pokemon as trainers and No multiform or multi-personalty type stuff either. Just Normal good, Bad or Neutral Trainers. Also remember this is a different universe then the Anime but you may uses characters from the Anime/Games as canon or even as your main character.

All Trainers are normal regular Humans. All 5 Generations of Pokemon are allowed to be used. That's 649 pokemon to chose from. What I DO NOT want are created Pokemon. That is a No No. Each Pokemon may have 4 attacks and one special attack. Once you have made your character feel free to start rping. ALL characters made/created/being worked on or whatever are automatically approved so there is no waiting to start rping. UNLESS I have said sumthing or disapproved something about your character that you MUST change. There will be NPC(Non Playable Characters) and Support Character, these characters are side or event type characters that play a part of the Rp. Most NPCs and Support character can be played by anyone in the group UNLESS said other wise.

Note:I or a Mod has the right to add or change any rules. There may be more rules add later so keep an eye on this thread. It all depends on how active this place is.

Region History
The Kanto region is home to a lot of Pokémon and has a rich history of creating Pokémon with technology. Researchers of Kanto have been great at their job. Some researcher working for the evil organization Team Rocket cloned Mew through its genes and created the Genetic Pokémon Mewtwo. Porygon, the Virtual Pokémon, was also created by humans in Kanto. Kanto is modern and technological, which is reflected in the look of the cities and the buildings like the Pokémon Lab of Cinnabar Island and the Power Plant. This fact is also reflected in Kanto being the only Pokémon region without any legends, myths, or traditions related to Pokémon, and being the centerpoint for innovation, with the Poké Ball's ultimate upgrade, the Master Ball, being recently invented by Silph Co. The soil of the Kantō region is volcanic, referencing the in-game Kanto region's inability to maintain a berry crop in Generation II, Generation III and Generation IV. People from Kanto are considered to be sophisticated, reserved and formal. All cities in Kanto are named after colors (Viridian City, Lavender Town, Indigo Plateau, etc.), with the exception of Pallet Town, which is also a reference to color. Professor Gen is the resident Pokémon professor and gives Pokémon Trainers a choice between Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle as their starter Pokémon

Professor Jessica offers either Chikorita, Cyndaquil or Totodile to beginning Pokémon Trainers. The names of most of the cities in Johto are also the names of plants or things related to plants. People from Johto are considered to be more relaxed. Certain cultural aspects of the Johto region are deep-seated in Japanese history, as well. Johto features some unique and scenic landmarks, whether they be natural or man-made. It prides itself towards mythology and tradition features, with most of the buildings, towers, caves, and locations holding a historical background. Some of the oldest places in Johto, even the Pokémon world, include the Ruins of Alph, Sprout Tower, Bell Tower, Burned Tower, and the Slowpoke Well. Region History
The Hoenn region is a large region to the southwest of Johto, and resembles the real-world Japanese main island of Kyushu. It is the setting of the Generation III games Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. The names of most of the cities in Hoenn are made of two words put together (Little Root, Fort Tree, Slate Port, Ever Grande, etc.) rather than colors or plants as Kanto and Johto had done. Professor Kobi of Littleroot Town offers the starter Pokémon known as Treecko, Torchic, or Mudkip to Trainers beginning their journey of this vast land. Hoenn's name comes from 豊縁, hōen, meaning "abundant relations", as a common theme in this region is the relationships forged between Pokémon and people. Hoenn was created after Groudon and Kyogre were formed. Groudon raised the landmasses and Kyogre filled the seas that would later become Hoenn. The meeting of these two created a great battle for supremacy until it was quelled by Rayquaza, sending Groudon and Kyogre into caverns where they rested until they were awakened many years later during the course of events in Generation III. The moving of the continents by Regigigas created Hoenn, and when Regigigas was sent to sleep in the Snowpoint Temple in Sinnoh during the Iron Age, Regirock, Registeel, and Regice, the keys to awakening it, were sealed away in Hoenn.

Region History
The Sinnoh region is currently the northern-most region known. The Kanto and the Johto regions are said to be south and southwest, while it is possible that the Almia region is connected to Sinnoh in the southwest. Sinnoh has both new and traditional geographic features for the player to explore, including snowy and foggy routes. Most of its routes are on land. The region is divided by Mt. Coronet, roughly comparable to how the continent that Kanto and Johto make up is essentially a contiguous region. Most of the cities and towns in Sinnoh, as well as the region's design, draw from these real-world locations. The Japanese name of Shin'ō is derived from the Sino-Japanese term 神奥, which translates to "mysterious". The name may also be connected to 神 shin, "god" or "deity", and 神話 shinwa, "myth". According to several Sinnoh myths, this region was the first of all the regions in the Pokémon world to have been created. In a void of nothingness, a single egg came into being, which then hatched into Arceus, the first Pokémon to be in existence. Arceus created Dialga, Palkia, and possibly Giratina, and Arceus then gave Dialga and Palkia the abilities to control time and space, respectively. Giratina was banished to another dimension for its violent behavior. Then, during the very early formation of the world, Arceus created Azelf, Uxie, and Mesprit to create willpower, knowledge, and emotion respectively, things that are in all modern humans and Pokémon. They dove to the bottom of present-day Lake Valor, Lake Acuity, and Lake Verity, an act which earned them the name "the lake trio". At that point, Arceus created the Sinnoh region and Mt. Coronet divided the region into two sections. During this violent procedure, Stark Mountain was created and Heatran was formed in lava. Arceus finally created the Adamant, Lustrous and Griseous Orbs before falling into a never-ending sleep at the Hall of Origin.Around this time, Mew was thought to have came into being by itself, containing the DNA of every Pokémon to exist and exist in the future. Human habitation of Sinnoh is estimated to have begun when Sinnoh was created, as said in myth. It is stated that Pokémon and humans led separate lives, but always helped each other. They supplied each other with goods, and supported each other. A Pokémon proposed to the others to always be ready to help humans, and that Pokémon be ready to appear before humans always. Thus, to this day, Pokémon appear to humans if they venture into tall grass.

Pokemon Weakness and Elemental types

An elemental type is a property for Pokémon and their moves. Each elemental type has three properties: which types of Pokémon it is effective against, which types of Pokémon it is less effective against, and which types of Pokémon it is completely ineffective against. All games before the fourth generation also made a distinction between physical and special moves based on their type, though this is now dependent on the move itself. There are 17 types, each of which is listed to the right.

A Pokémon may have either one or two types. For instance, Charmander is a Fire-type, while Bulbasaur is both a Grass-type and a Poison-type. With the current 17-type system, there are a possible 289 different type combination. A move may have only one type, although the in-game descriptions of some moves may make it seem like the move has two types. Elemental types

Normal Fire
Fighting Water
Flying Grass
Poison Electric
Ground Psychic
Rock Ice
Bug Dragon
Ghost Dark

If the type of a move used by a Pokémon is strong against the opponent's type, then the damage done is twice the normal; if a move's type is weak against a specific type, then the damage done is half the normal damage done. Note that this effect is multiplied, e.g if a move's type is strong against both of the opponent's types (such as Dig, a Ground-type move on an Aggron, a Steel/Rock Pokémon), then the move does 4 times the damage.

If a move's type is completely ineffective due to the opposing Pokémon's type, then the damage done by the move is zero. Otherwise, the damage will be at the very least 1HP.

Some weather conditions, abilities, and held items affect moves of a certain type. Sunny Day, for example, causes Fire-type moves to increase in power, while Levitate causes Ground-type moves to not work on the Pokémon with this ability. Likewise, each type has a specific item that can be given to a Pokémon to hold that will power up one of the specific types, such as the Metal Coat, which powers up Steel-type moves by 10% (20% as of Generation IV).

Added & In Effect on 4/24/2012
Who creates the plot?
Great question. Normally the creator. I Do have a idea on a main story for the Rp. BUT I way i operate is that i normally follow the lead of experience Rp players or those who have and idea and want to bring it to life. Which is one of the main reasons for the OCC Thread to Brainstorm, throw plots ideas, Plan with other members, and to do announcements. I love it when people have a plot idea thats good. So basically The Group members create the Plot. I just oversee it.

Here's My Story idea for the Main Story of the rp an out line on how I would like the plot to move.

The World Champion Title is and Honor and a Duty. The World Pokemon League created this title to find a trainer strong enough to be the Guardian of the Yin and Yang Orbs. Which is rumored to be a key to awake two legendary Pokemon known as Chaos and Harmony. Those two pokemon are made up pokemon that I have created. The World Pokemon League Rebirths the Poke Grand Prix after the 5 year disappearance of Xavier Jones the World Champion for 25 years. The chairman of the World PKMN League would explain all of this to the current League Champions at a League Meeting. Black Dawn's leader finds out about this and plans to use the power of Chaos and Harmony for their own gain.....

Thats what i got so far pretty much pokemon generic plot but thats just the first Saga.

What's the Rp based off?
The main base of the story is all on the front page. If you havent read it then go on the front page and read it though. This WHOLE rp is based of the ANIME style of Pokemon in a alternate universe. Not the game and not the card game THE ANIME & MANGA. So attacks should be emphasized around the anime and manga mainly . You can have attacks from the video game as well but try you best to use descriptions from the Anime or Manga of said attack. I know there are attacks that are in the game that are not in the show. Just do your best in describe them. So this is what we have learned. Group is alternate universe of the Anime and Manga and Attacks should be describe as from Anime not in video game. Some exceptions apply like attacks that are only from the game.

NCPs/Cannon/Side Characters
This is probably something people have been wondering about. There will be NCPs that ONLY Mods and the Creator will play and certain Rpers who are not Mods. NCPs are there to support the main story and some events. Cannon characters are characters from the anime and manga. You may use who ever you wish from the anime. But just know Some Characters from the anime will be NCP's like Cynthia and Red (Not Ash he sucks lol). If your not authorized to play an NCPs and want to PM me and I see what I can do. This goes for if you would like to create a NCP. PM me the Layout of your character and if I feel we can use it then I will approve it. Most NCPs will be created by the Creator or a Mod.

I feel I can help the Moderators, How can I become a mod?
If you would like to become a Mod or feel you can help mange this group simply fill out the app. down below. I dont have a set number but I would like about 6 mods. People I know who will do the duties of a Mod with justice. And those duties are: Keeping an eye on the group, Edit & Update when needed, Enforce the rules, Keeping an eye on the lazy creator lol, Make Banners, Events, Avis, Plots ECTS and anything else that a mod does. A mods word is just as potent as is it came for the creator himeself.

Why You wanna Be a Mod?
How Active are you?
Have you created a character?
Are you an active member?
What can you do to make this group better?

What is an RPG and what is it for?
RPG stands for Role-Play Group. And in this group, is where Role-Playing takes place. Role-playing can be done several different ways. And the experience is different depending on the people, the style and the group. Yet the basic explanation, is a group/forum, where characters are made. Or characters are used, to play out scenarios and/or situations, in a made-up or real world.

Can I Rp in whatever POV I like?
Yes, in Pokemon: Road of Champions and pretty much any group I'm in, it doesn't matter what POV (Point Of View) you write in. As long as everyone can understand what you're writing, then all is good. Which means that it is good to be semi-literate.

What if I have a question, where do I ask it?
You can Post it on the wall, PM a MOD or the Creator (shinsonic23). or Post it in the OCC Thread.

Where do I post if I am about to be absent for a while?
You can post it on the wall, or post it in the OCC Thread or message a MOD/the Creator. And we will know.

Can one of my character's be in more then one place at once?
No, But If they are in the Battle Arenas or in an Event its is fine. This is the only exception

How do I Post in Region Threads?
Every post made in a Region thread should have 3 main things *Where you are: Basically Ur Location, *Who you with: Who you are Rping with, and *Your Activity: Basically what your Doing SO EACH OF Your post in a Region Thread should look something like this:

Location: Lavender Town
What I'm Doing: Shopping
I'm With: Jaen(shinsonic23)

Then ur Paragraph or sentence(s) here

And make sure you QUOTE the person or people you are or want to Rp with. It makes things waaaay more easy and simple. I want this post style so people dont get confused or enter some ones Rp. This is ONLY to be done in Region Threads are label as Region Treads which are: The Sinnoh Region, The Johto Region, The Hoenn Region,The Kanto Region, and the The Orange Islands.

Can I have an event of my own going on within the group?
Yes you can. Just the Event/Arc application. And either post it here in the OCC Thread or PM the creator Me shinsonic23. If you post it in the OCC Thread, I or a Mod must be quoted and we will get back to you as soon as we can. If you are approved you can create the thread. And you will have a spot on the announcements, to get the word out about your event when you have sign-ups.

Event/Arc Application

What is the name of your event?
What is its main plot?
Is it meant to effect or be apart of the Main Pokemon: Road Of Champions Story? Or is this solely pertaining to your character(s)?
What character(s) of yours will you be using?

Wondering why so much information is needed in order to host an Arc? Having a few MODs on your side to help put everything into place for your Arc, is very helpful. And please know that when hosting an Arc, you do NOT have to have sign ups. But the Arc will take place in a single forum.

What do we do in Arch Threads?
Well ya post lol. In Event/Archs or whatever ya wanna call them. The Main story of the Group takes place. Everything goes off what you post in that said Event. So you post accordingly in the Arch. Some Arch will required certain characters to be more involved. Like this current Arch All the Champions and Special guest Trainers are all the Main character and judging on all these characters interactions makes or breaks the story. But you can take your time and think on ur post. We can wait.

How Many Times can we Post in a Arch/Event?
As many times as you wish. You dont have to wait for someone else to post in the Arch. You make one Post and then another and so on. If you wish to continue the story and your tried of waiting on someone reply then by all means continue without them. If you wish to Use their Character OR a NPC in your post make sure you get it Oked with who ever is in charge of that said character. You all write the story in how you would like it to run. All I will do is follow your lead and add your ideas to my ideas.

Does it matter if our characters are still Rping with another outside the Arch?
Great question. When and Arch/Event is posted. The Arch/Event is much like a time skip. It is either the Present or the Future depending on the Arch. Most of the time the first post with let you know whats what. So basically it does not not matter. Your character can be in an Arch and in another thread at the same time BUT this is the only exception. So remember Events/Arch are like time skips so what ever your doing while the Event is going on is happening in the past and your kinda like building up to the event if you wish to be in the event.

How Long does an Event/Arch last?
Well depending on how big the event is and how many people are involved it can last for a few days at a time. I normally try to wrap things up once we have a good number of pages like 7 or 10. It all realy depends on how the story goes. But I will make a post stating he event will be ending. So theres no need to worry.

This is brought to you by the Lovely LamiaZlogonje. She has a very good idea on this subject so I thought this would be good for everyone to know.
NPC vs. Support Character

I will now specify the difference between the two types of NPCs and the difference between NPCs and Support Characters. As you know NPCs are technically Support Characters used to support or add some UMPH to the Storyline. But what makes NPCs more then just someone there to fill in the details, is how detailed and/or powerful they are.

The natural or common type of NPC is the NPC that is created just to be there in the story line. They are very detailed and strong in their own way (ex: background, personality, etc). These types of NPCs are Character Purpose NPCs, that are given life and add purpose or flair to someone's character. An example of this type of NPC is Chairmen Maxine "Max" Gibson, Lizzy "Liz' Taylor, Cynthia or The Great Pokemon Professors (in the NPCs Thread).

The second type of NPC is the NPC with just as much detail but are there to knock around the odds of survival. They are powerful, usually big rollers or the lone wolf of the group with something to give or something to loose. An example of this type of NPC is Xavier Jones,Red Kurosaki, Victor Onigami, Commander Jack, K and more (in the NPCs Thread).

Support Characters are lightly detailed enough to give your righting a good bit of detail. A good example is that your character is getting ready to eat and a waiter comes up to take your order. That waiter, the people in the background sitting, minding their own business and eating. They are all Support Characters, so that your writing is not bland and somewhat empty. These Support Characters are there to make the writing a good and realistic enough to catch attention. There are a few support/side characters in The PKMN: Road of Champions NCPs Thread. Shinsonic will move them to a thread called PKMN: Support. Where everyone in the group will be able to use these types of Characters.
