I will admit that TDKR did have A LOT of plot holes and contrived devices that can make any film student cringe or any avid comic book fan sling poo at the screen. But even with all the flaws and ridiculousness, I still enjoyed the film. Isn`t that what matters when you`re going to watch a film?

But what really bothered me was that rushed ending with Robin`s "reveal". Even my dad -- who hasn`t picked up a comic in years -- can already tell who Blake is from the moment he told Wayne he was an orphan. He doesn`t even seem all that developed as a character, let alone to take up the big role as a vigilante. It just seemed like the movie was trying to pander to those who doesn`t know the Batman mythos all too well, since Robin isn`t even his actual name in the first place.

I thought it was an entertaining movie. Better than The Dark Knight in that it didn't have any scenes that outright didn't work (the scene with the two boats from TDK is so godawful), but far from "a visionary work" or whatever people seem to consider these films for some reason.

Nolan is far better when he's not making superhero movies.

I actually liked the boat scene in The Dark Knight. :l To me, it seems like the Joker was trying to test the morality of the Gotham citizens and trying to prove that anyone can go "mad". Nolan took a lot of influence from Alan Moore`s Batman comic, "The Killing Joke".

I agree with you about the intent. The execution, however...

"That crazy old wizard Alan said that all it takes is one bad day to turn anyone into someone like the Joker! How about we take that awesome scene in the carnival from hell, and turn it into 30 minutes of people staring at each other on boats! Brilliant, right!?"

Not even going to bother to read it all to be honest, it seems you've put a lot of effort into something the majority of people are going to disagree with you on. Some of them may be valid, some not, but it was a brilliant film nonetheless.

i don't think it was THAT bad, there is a lot of stuff to nitpick at, including all the plotholes and laugh-out-loud dialogue. i literally laughed my ass off when Bale was yelling with the growly voice (i figured Nolan knew better by now with the endless amounts of parodies). even with these faults, it was still a satisfying conclusion. it could've been much worse.

TDKR was pretty terrible.

I doubted this from the beginning, because Catwoman is in it.

I'll watch it eventually.

I ended up reading all 99 reasons. I agree with some and disagree with many (I won't refute anything since I only saw the movie once recently after its release). This one stood out for me though:

45. Speaking of prison amenities. The only apparent way in or out is to be lowered by ropes. How are basic needs of something like prisoners handled in a prison such as this? It would seem like a hell of a lot of work for them to once a day constantly lowering down buckets of food and water then hauling up buckets of human waste. It would just be better to have an actual above ground prison at that point.

Why assume the waste is hauled up? If it gets cleaned out at all, the waste would be dumped down the pit. I doubt the odor would concern the people controlling the prison.
