It was my first rpg, like many, and it just was so much more different and awesome than anything I'd played before that. Replayed it several times since then, and while the graphics show their age the story does not.

1. VI
2. IX
Steiner is a boss, but one character cannot equal 16 awesome characters (and two alright characters).

My favorites are 2, 7, 8, 10, 11 (MMO), and the new 14 (AAR). I beta tested FF14: AAR and it is epic. 13 Was a major disappointment, too linear. I haven't played 13-2 yet, but I hear its no better than the first.

Being a hugh fan of the genre, I have played them all, including the MMOs. But nothing so far, has come close to the story, battle system, and gripping adventure of 7 yet. And as we all know, Sephiroth is the MAN!

My top three are

Final Fantasy IV
Final Fantasy II
Final Fantasy VIII

And Final Fantasy VI gets a special mention for being what I consider the objective pinnacle of the series.

I loved Square's Mario RPG, it was my frist time finishing a RPG Game and I think it has a nice battle and leveling system,

I love the critical timing attack, and also my favorite battle is the battle against Coolex from FF, the bonus battle,

:P from there I played FFVII and loved the series, also played crisis core and dirge of cerberos and they were OK, but the original FFVII is great, I think is the very best RPG game from all times, and I think they should remake the game with better graphics and the same storyline but more detailed.

My second favorite final fantasy is the VIII I love squall and seifer, and all the other characters, the storyline is quite decent and the difficulty of the final stage is too damn high but that's good.

And it's not a surprise but my 3rd favorite FF is the IX i Thinks it goes back to the original feeling of the nes and snes games, its nostalgic and not as serious as VII and VIII, the bummers is that the bad guys are not that memorable,

Apart from RPG games, I also liked the Final Fantasy tactics series, the Chocobo Racing game, and of course the Dissidia Series, one of the best fighting game ever to be made in my opinion.

My favourite character from the games, mmm I think is Vincent Valentine, for his design and powers, and second bes is Squall for his revolver blade and his Whatever attitude.

Well I guess thats all i can say right now about the series, but definitely is my favorite video game series

Mine is FFVIII too! Back when I first got a Playstation I didn't know I needed a memory card to save my games. So I kept playing the beginning over and over again.

It was always annoying telling people that my favorite was VIII because everyone would say that VII was better.

I love that one too!

Finally, I just got over caring what others said. All the FF games have something fun and unique about them, but VIII holds that special spot in my heart! Awww

Just because it is my first Final Fantasy; I'd say Final Fantasy XIII. I liked the story, and the gameplay, until I played XIII-2. Right after XIII, I think that I prefer X, then VII. Yuna is such a cutie, and Cloud is really badass (Advent Children *_* <3). I didn't play FFI, II, III, IV and V so I can't judge. But I'm pretty sure they're all good games.

I feel sorry for all the XIII bashers, you guys are missing out on a truly amazing game and mythos. I initially gave up a quarter of the way through after purchasing it. Two years later I was bored and decided to give it a shot from scratch, I'm glad I did. If you can't get caught up in the story then I suspect you will have the same troubles with future FF releases.

XIII-2 takes everything a step further and is a complete game onto itself.

Top 5:
2. FFX
