Hi there!

I'm Haste in Time also known as HiT for short. This will be my first time to any Anime Con.

I'm looking to go to an Anime convention for some fun and find new friends similar to myself who enjoy both Games and Anime.

I was planning to go to an Animie-Con but the only one I know of, is out in Washington State. It's known as Sakura Con.

I eventually want to go there, but what other Anime-cons do you recommend?

The location of my first Anime Con would be ideal if its in Michigan. Since I live here.

Although that doesn't have to be the case, if you have a good suggestion I will hear you out.

Hello there. I feel I have to tell you that Anime Expo in Los Angeles is probobly the best Anime Con experience you are likely to get. Probably well worth booking ahead for a hotel and staying for 5 days. You can get a hotel in "Little Tokyo" which is not too far from the Convention Center if you'd really like to enhance the whole Japanese experience. It technicall starts on a Thursday evening (Day 0) then goes all the way through monday, usually the first weekend in July. It is, actually, the largest Anime Convention in the country. I should mention that I live here and never had to get the Hotel myself, but it's what others have done, and what I would do. I know that "Comic con" is not an all Anime Con but just for comparison that Con is about $175 for 4 days as opposed to Anime Expo being between $55 and $65 bucks, depending on when you purchase tickets, so it's a pretty sweet deal. I have also been to a lesser Anime Con here in Los Angeles called "Anime Los Angeles" which is in the winter and was at a hotel. I was a bit disappointed because I felt it was so tiny. I circled the dealers floor in about 15 minutes as oppsed to Anime Expo where it took about 8 hours! So even if you can't make it to L.A. and need to stay in Mich., my advice would be to go to one at a convention center as opposed to a hotel. That's just a guess though.
I have actually been to Anime Expo 4 times now and actually sold my own Manga that I created at the Artists Alley, and the experience just seems to get better every year. So, in summary I really just have to recommend "Anime Expo". I really hope this helps you out HiT. -br

Thanks for the recommendation BobbyRice!

Yeah I forgot about the Anime Expo in LA, believe it! lol...

maybe I can hit up E3 at the same time I wonder? hmm... checking- ahhh darn. Two different months, at almost a month apart.

E3: June 11th to June 13th

A-Expo LA: July 4th to July 7th

Seems like I'd need to plan a more long term investment of some kind for visiting LA. For that to happen.

Any LA Folks willing to put up good room and board for about a month?
