Does anybody else from the UK find the choices for Blu-rays to be majorly lacking?
It seems that Manga uk which is the biggest distributer in England is too fearful of low sales to release many.
They only just released Clannad and Clannad After story but only on DVD with subs only in 2 parts per series for a total of nearly 120 GBP for both series, whereas I could import the Sentai releases on Blu-ray for around 80 GBP.
I don't want them to go out of business but since I watch most anime in HD I am becoming less and less likely to buy their overpriced DVDs and more likely to import Blu-rays since the only things Manga seems to feel ok releasing on Blu-ray is very short series like Angel Beats, Madoka and Highschool of the dead. (I really fail to see how Highschool of the dead would draw in better sales than Clannad.)
I may seem a bit ranty but it annoys me that I cant support my Local distributer because they simply refuse to release my favorite series in the quality I want and I have to look elsewhere.
Any other collectors in the UK noticed this?

Its simply because of the very high cost of a bluray disk to burn off. Unless there is for sure going to be the market for a bluray release they cant afford to take the risk. Basically they cant release the bluray at a loss, and today I expect high school of the dead would sell more than clannad, most people who would watch clannad have already seen it on the net...

UK anime fans are just too used to getting everything for free online, if more people were buying their anime we would both get more anime and have better prices overall
