This week Haikyū is in 1st over One Piece, that's a shocker. Other than that, apparently something must've happened to cause Hinomaru Zumou's rise in rank. I haven't read it yet, but I always saw it at around 5-9, so this was weird. I'll read Love Rush soon and get back to you on that.

2ch thinks it will be axed, Dance will also dance soon and Takuan obviously.

They don't seem to consider Kimetsu for some reason even though its sales aren't amazing. That makes me think they know something i don't...

Kimetsu is most likely the replacement for bleach though.

Damn. Modern Jump fans are pampered with series every week, and of course they think the current line-up is garbage, they grew up with Naruto, Bleach, etc etc. The stuff now is better in my honest opinion, but it's not as popular. It's not bad, in my opinion, but it isn't necessarily strong either. I think this is a big transitioning period for Jump. A lot of old series are getting the axe, and I'm fine with that. But just give the line-up a chance.

which is a stupid thing to say because there are new generation of kids that buy Jump magazine, some of them probably never read those series because too long or whatever. Jump readers grow out and instead of buying the magazine, they buy the volume to complete the series. This situation is the same as the magazine in 1999, have a look:

One Piece ( 2 years)
Hunter x Hunter (1 year)
Seikimatsu Leader Den Takeshi! ( 2 years)
Rising Impact (1 year)
Hikaru no Go ( 1 year)
Naruto, Zombie Powder, Prince of Tennis ( less than a year)
Yu-Gi-Oh (3 years)
Hoshin Engi (3 years)
Whistle! (1 year)
Kochikame (23 years)
Rookies (1 year)
Shaman King (1 year)
I's ( 3 years)
The majority are relatively successful series

Yeh, the Hinomaru chapter hasn't been translated yet, but the one i think it is was quite good. By those standards, it should be similar in ranking or even higher next week as it's the conclusion to that fight, but who knows.

I duno how the people on 2ch think that Kimetsu will do better than Samon. It's sales for the first 2 volumes were considerably worse than even Hinomaru, Isobee, Samon or Sesuji were at that stage, which is saying something as they're considered the poor sellers. Plus it's rankings aren't that much better. But they probably know best so maybe that's how it will go.

Love Rush seems different... From what I've heard of the premise, it could go either way really.

The thing with Kimetsu might be because it has been raking up high praise in reviews, i can easily see it been nominated for Taisho Award among other awards.
At this point its worth seeing if Kimetsu will still be placed around the middle like it has been then, it will probably not be axed.

Kimetsu got that video recently and JUMP have been promoting it more recently, it will be actually embarrassing to see Samon-kun getting cancelled after it was pushed so much.

I can understand why they consider that Samon-kun, sesuji and Takuan are up for cancellation.

Apparently JUMP GIGA V3 won't have Samon-kun bangaihen or sesuji or Takuan or Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Love Rush is a romcom replacement for Nisekoi
(from the leaked scans it seems like the ecchi was toned down from the one-shot that already wasn't that ecchi).

Isobee sales have declined...

Vol 2 sold 25k in 3 days , volume 11 couldn't sell 15k in 4 days.

Listen, the fact is there is still runoff and many people who are adults who read the magazine, now more than ever with the Internet age. But with the lineup of new series, they're definitely not as interested, which is why sales are so poor.

Sales are poor because less and less people are reading magazines and buying physical volumes these days. They're not going to get better.

The big three magazines have to just accept that their reader base will never be as high as it was in its glory days again. It's more important now to build a strong brand and hope to attract a solid audience who will stick around. That's really all they can do.

This is true. Maybe they will recover at some point, but I'm not sure.

Do you guys think Jump will give Toriko till around chapter 400 before they kick it out?

I'm getting nervous that they might get rid of it during the next round of cancellations.

Yeh it could. I've been expecting it to go next round, but it may very well last to the one after. Kind of hard to tell when it will end given how the story is atm.

It has 7 chapters to fill volume 42.
so it will definitely reach 490.

鬼滅の刃 2 2016/08
**26407 (*11)(「16323」・10084)

If it gained legs and reached something like 40k then it would be great.
Next week by the looks of it it will sell 4k-5k.

7 volumes total 1.5M Copies in print - Saiki
7 Volumes total 1.6M Copies in print - Black Clover
7 volumes total 2.9M copies in Print - Soma
7 volumes total 2M Copies in print - Nisekoi
7 volumes total 2.5M Copies in Print - Hakyuu
7 Volumes total 3.7M Copies in Print - Hero

Hakyuu started behind Bnha but i just don't see bnha reaching hakyuu level sales.

WSJ and ESJ #39 Previews:

I'm not usually a fan of Shonen rom-com, but Love Rush! wasn't too bad. I'm not sure if I'll stick with it after its Jump Start period, though.

That's it for Neverland's Jump Start period. It was nice to have something different in Jump, but definitely this is not something that we don't have a lot of in the entertainment industry. My problem with it is that it was too predictable in its first 2 chapters even though it was still entertaining, but chapter 3 gave me something that I didn't see coming, so now I'm more intrigued to continue it.

Honestly for Neverland I think the pace needs to pick up.

Love Rush was just what I expected from the One-shot, barely any ecchi even less ecchi than the one-shot.
Well its Nisekoi's replacement and personally i found it better than it least for now.
Yamamoto sensei art is a lot better too.

Love Rush, just as I predicted, is one of the most god awful series I have ever read...........

Of course, it's probably going to be ridiculously popular because that tends to happen with series I loathe. >_< (such as Sword Art Online).

I don't get people's tastes.....

Love Rush was fine for what it was. It was way better than E-Robot.

Promised Neverland is going way too slow for Jump. I'm not sure if the readers will be kind in their rankings because of it.

All that's left is Red Sprite.
