Haru and Kosaki saving Nisekoi ranking it seems. I was glad to see Nisekoi towards the bottom recently but then Haru had to come and save Nisekoi. At this point all I can do is hope that it fails after this current arc is over.

It's not Haru. The rankings are 7 weeks behind. This is for 203 meaning the ranked chapter is 196 which is:

Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it should fail :/. There are many people who still enjoy reading Nisekoi, like myself, even if it isn't the greatest Jump series around.

I was immensely frustrated about Mononofu not getting picked up. I was hugely interested in that manga. And it's not even a failure, either, it's going to be sticking in the Japanese magazine.

I've been putting in a suggestion to pick it up each time I fill out the issue survey. Maybe if enough people request it (or another series like Straighten Up) they'll add it.

I've been suggesting adding both Straighten Up! and Mononofu in the survey since they debuted in the magazine so I'm glad to hear other people are interested too. Unfortunately, Viz doesn't seem interested in adding any Jump Starts that aren't battle shonen or by already popular manga-ka.

People talking about adding more series. VIZ have mentioned before that there is a maximum budget to Jump. When they said that, they had 12 series running. I'd say the budget is 12-13 series running at the same time because we never exceeded that since the digital magazine started in 2012.

We have 12 series currently running excluding HxH.

Believe me, I want more series, but I don't see them increasing the budget soon. They could surprise me, but I just don't see it, looking at how much of a negative effect pirating has.

If VIZ only wanted action series, they wouldn't have added Nisekoi or Food Wars. Both of those titles have proven to be popular, So I wouldn't say they only want action series. Of course, Jump is known for their action series. That's their main genre. When people think about Jump, they'll mostly think about action series. These series will always have priority.

As for wanting series from already popular authors, that's a simple, yet effective business move. Why wouldn't you give priority to already well-known and established authors?

There a circulation of 2.4 million, so I think that's weekly. That number makes sense I think.

Nisekoi and Food Wars both have proven to be some of my favorite manga. I hope that someday Viz can expand their subscription options, and have weekly jumps dedicated exclusively to things like sports, romance, and so on.

Well the editor in chief of WSJ Viz just announced they wont be doing a jump start of Yuna of Yuragi Manor, but they will of the Issue 11 jump start *sigh* probably for the reason that the manga is Ecchi/ Romance and they like Action and Adventure.

Collection of random thoughts for this week.

Too bad it’s not a ranked week for world trigger, honestly thought it was third before i saw that not ranked in parathesis. Buddy strike stroke out and wonder what Yuna of Yugari manor is about. Assassination classrooms feels like its going to end in 5 chapter with Shirou and co being defeated. It’s weird seeing Gintama ranked dead last

Based on the low rankings of other long runners (Nisekoi, Toriko) in the past couple of months, I'd say that occasional low rankings for unpopular chapters/arcs are a normal occurrence for series of this length. Gintama is particularly volatile due to being a gag series, which tend to be hit-or-miss.
