That Toriko chapter... It's going to come to an end so soon :/. Very sad to see and it's obvious the series has taken such a different direction than was originally planned.

Yeah, after reading the latest chapter, it definitely feels like Toriko is heading down the final stretch. Guess it really depends on how long it'll take for all the battles and loose ends to wrap up. Can't really see it making its way into 2017 unless Shimabukuro really stretches things out.

Nisekoi seems to be heading down that path very briskly as well. Things are getting tied off almost all too quickly now. If things continue at this rate, I would not be surprised at all if Nisekoi ends within the next two "cancellation" rounds.

The recent English Jump had something called Bye-Bye Humanity that looks like it could be interesting, anyone know anything more about it?

I just read it. Apparently it's only the first chapter because it's a digital only publication, which kinda sucks because it was actually really good. It's a bit like Shiki, but with zombies. I'm not a huge fan of zombie series, but it was a solid first chapter.

I found Bye Bye Humanity kinda hard to follow...? But it's nice seeing a (non-romance) manga in Jump with so many girls (LOL) and it's even nicer to see Viz doing something from Jump Plus. I have my doubts that they'll translate any more of it though... :\

Seems like Nisekoi might get the ax with these low ratings, especially after this week.

I wish EWSJ would add a sports manga for a change too. Anyone know why they haven't even though they hold the licenses for some? Are they just not popular anymore?

Highly doubt it. Look at Bleach that has been at the bottom for a while now. Yet it is still there.

Well Nisekoi has been progressing very fast and is almost in its final arc from the looks of things. Komi probably got told to finish it up quickly, same with Toriko.

I heard somewhere that they don't add them because they aren't very popular in the west. Saying that though, I don't see how any sane person could think western audiences would enjoy Nisekoi more than stuff like Haikyuu and Kurokos Basketball.

English manga companies took a gamble with sports series a long time ago, and it turned out they don't sell. Some companies are again taking a gamble with sports series looking at how some of them became very popular simulcasts.

Yen Press got the rights to Yowamushi Pedal, and they are releasing it in 2-in-1 format. Volume 1 is already out.
VIZ got the rights to Kuroko's Basketball and Haikyu!!. Kuroko will also be released in 2-in-1 format, while Haikyu!! will be released in normal format. Both of them are set for this Summer.

So, if people want more sports series in English, now is a second chance. Who knows how long it will be for companies to take a third gamble if this one fails like the first one.

A manga getting axed dosent just depend on the rankings in the magazine, how well the volumes sell is a big factor and Nisekoi sells really well, so the story ending is most likely komi feeling the need to stop dragging it out and progress the plot

Well let's not forget the atrocity that was both the manga and anime release by Viz of Prince of Tennis. That was basically the last nail in the coffin for me to just learn Japanese. >__>

I have been doing my part on the sports releases. I picked up Yowamushi Pedal already and I'm waiting on Kuroko and Haikyu!!

I'll agree that others need to do their part and pick up the second coming of the sports titles. Help a dude out!

I believe he is getting some pressure from WSJ to wrap it up so they can bring on new series. Additionally, I know the volumes sell well, but if I was WSJ, I would want the series to finish strong for long term sales and not have a quality drop to make consumers think twice about a purchase.

Actually, Haikyuu is getting an English release, although only in volume form (i.e. not in the online magazine, though they'll probably stick the first chapter there to try to advertise it like they did with Assassination Classroom).

If we're talking about the more recent ones that didn't get picked up, I guess the Jump Starts just didn't have a favorable enough reception? Which actually surprised me a lot with Mononofu, as I thought it was a shoo-in to enter the English magazine... I'm still hoping they might pick it up at some point.
