So, I watch a lot of anime. My husband...not so much.

He gets into some of them, DragonBall Z, Bleach, Oriemo, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, Devils and Realist and a few more....but now - now we're watching Attack on Titan. I refuse to read the manga when I'm watching a series with him, otherwise I know the plot, etc. Anywho...

He seems to have a real issue with the pacing of the series. He can't stand it when there's a flashback or 'filleresque (in his mind)' episode. Basically he wants them to be cutting up Titans on the regular and to forget all this emotional nonsense. I've heard this from another avid watcher (and he has also read the manga), although he says the story picks up a little from here out.

Maybe I'm missing something that he's seeing here, but I happen to love the series the way it is. I think you need those little bits of back story once and a while otherwise no one would know what the heck is going on! This is one of those issues where we're on opposing sides, where does everyone else fall in line?

Its fine just the way it is, if emotion wasn't mixed in with the series it wouldn't be as good as it is.
