This whole ordeal reminds me of patent laws or maybe it is related to that.

If Crunchyroll gets the initial rights now for a few countries it can pave the way to get additional rights for other countries in the future. If the anime's production team, creator, etc, sees that Crunchyroll is pulling in a lot of episode views then they will be much more willing to make a deal with them for the rights once the current contract expires. If they don't take the show at all for any countries then it is a lot less likely that they will ever be able to get the rights for it. For all you know the UK could still be under contract for another month and would be added to the list of countries at that time. You can't just go around breaking contracts unless you want to open yourself up to lawsuits.

The initial list of simulcast countries is not final by any means. I have seen them add countries before and I am positive it will happen again at some point. If they take the opportunity to start streaming One Piece now, it is much more likely that they will be able to add more countries once the current contracts expire.

Normally when it says "Latin American and the Caribbean", or "Central and South America and the Caribbean".

There's a handful of "Latin American" series that are Mexico, Central America, South American and the Spanish Caribbean (Cuba & Dominican Republic), but most "Latin American" licenses include the West Indies (and good luck against India).

Once a video has stream, you can normally tell from the .rss feed. Go to the series page, add ".rss", hit Control-U in many browsers to look at the source code, and search for the media:restrictions tag. West Indian two-letter codes:

jm ~ Jamaica
tt ~ Trinidad & Tobago
bb ~ Barbados

Leewards:
vg ~ BVI
ai ~ Anguilla
kn ~ St. Kitts & Nevis
ag ~ Antigua and Barbuda
ms ~ Montserrat

Windwards:
dm ~ Dominica
lc ~ St. Lucia
vc ~ St. Vincent & the Grenadines
gd ~ Grenada

Yes, certainly ~ whoever holds the rights handed over money in some way to gain those rights, and they recoup that money, if they do, with the revenues they earn from the royalties.

The details can range from simple to complex, because its determined by how the contract terms are written, and how strong the relationship is between the companies.

Yeah HunterXHunter is amazing and so underrated, every episode is amazing to me. How Naruto should of been . But still One Piece is still my favorite and while everyone is watching it even free members I won't be. I just hope CR aren't giving up on bring it to us also.

Stop complaining! Just download the damn torrent!

Seriously....I can think of nearly 10 ways to watch OP illegally online. And the fact that CR got it means HS will release right afterwards in torrent sites, which is great for everyone.

I wonder if this means Toriko is coming as well, or god forbid, Dragonball gets added to the catalog titles.
