There is almost no point to having a reply feature in the comment section of the videos, if the user being replied to isn't notified. If the person being replied to isn't likely to ever see the reply, why let someone reply to them? Either remove the reply feature, or add a notification system. It's that simple.

If they're worried about server load, then they should just remove the reply feature altogether... And probably just disable the comments, as well (they can't even handle peak usage when a simulcast for a show like dragon ball is released). No point in trying to compete with major streaming services that do use comment systems, like youtube, by only offering half of one of their features. Most streaming services don't bother with comment systems altogether. But, since the comments are already implemented and can be somewhat fun (despite basically being fire and forget messages with almost no interaction), disabling the replies should be good enough. I wonder how many users (especially younger users) actually think the person they're replying to will ever read the reply.

Another alternative, would be to at least make it easier to track your own comments. That way if you actually want to see if someone replied to a specific question, you can quickly find the comment in your profile instead of having to hunt down the video.

I agree that there should be some sort of notification sent when someone comments or likes on a post. I was very shocked that it wasn't already a thing.

We really need this feature! i was shocked it wasn't a thing just like the user above! Or as someone else is suggesting, maybe have something on your profile where you can find your own comments and from there you can look at whatever is under the comment.

There's really no point with comments under the video if you don't get notified...

Yea got to say leaves you sad that you comment just went unnoticed until you bother to trawl through the comments looking for it! Its realy sad especially as video comments have provided me with so many laughs over the years!

It's 2019 and still nothing. . .
Honestly, CR should just team up with or just use Disqus. Anime is great and all but there isn't anyone to talk about it with.

I'm honestly disappointed that this thread is over 3 years old and CR still hasn't implemented a notification system for video comments. Going back to a particular video to find the question I left and to check for the (usually nonexistant) answer is tedious and annoying. Sometimes the comment I left wouldn't even exist when I go back to look for it

6 years later, still nothing... Good job Crunchyroll! You sure take our very basic requests seriously. How is this not implemented yet?

Please Crunchyroll, I just want to boost my ego when my comments receive likes...
