I vote for Magi: The Kingdom of Magic. The only real problem I have with this series is that it started out slowly. Once the main three went their separate ways, everything became so much more interesting that it was hard to believe I was watching the same anime. I loved watching the characters learn about themselves and their world, and I liked seeing a story about stopping a war instead of the usual "kill the bad guy because he's bad" fare I'm used to seeing in shounen anime. Speaking of which, it was nice to see action that relied on the characters more than flashiness. I think this season of Magi is my new standard for shounen anime.

As I said before, TWGOK was too inconsistent for me. Keima certainly grew as a character as he realized that he wasn't simply playing a game anymore, and the twist and additional characterization with Ayumi and Chihiro were the highlight of the entire series for me, but the rest of the content doesn't stand out in my mind. It's not bad, I just don't find it memorable.

Also, look at the brackets, can I just say one thing? WWWWWHHHHHHYYYYYYYY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Man, barely any of the shows I have watched are going to advance past their first match, either because they are against another show I have seen, or they are facing a much more popular series/a series with a more dedicated fanbase.

So for fun, here are my outlooks of the upcoming matches(I really don't care who wins this match, cause I haven't seen either):

Railgun vs. Kill la Kill - Obviously I want KlK to move on, but this will be a huge challenge, as Railgun is massively popular, and has a dedicated fanbase. If anything, this honestly has the potential to be an even worse beatdown than when KlK faced AoT.
Nagi vs. Non Non Biyori - I want NNB to move on from this match, but I think Nagi will win it.
Kyousougiga vs. Silver Spoon - Why, Chrome? Why? Do you hate me? I would be fine with either moving on, but I would much prefer Silver Spoon moving on. Of course, we all know about the KSGG Rangers here, so it'll be hard for SS to move on. I see KSGG winning a close one.
SNAFU vs. Log Horizon - I want Log Horizon to win this, but let's be real, SNAFU is winning this match.
Monogatari vs. Chihayafuru - I can't predict who will win this, actually. Both have their fans. I THINK Chihayafuru will win, cause it seems to have a better fans to detractors ratio than Monogatari, and the fans for Chihayafuru are damn passionate about it, from what I have seen.
Attack on Titan vs. Maou-sama - This is honestly probably AoT's biggest challenge left outside of the finals. I'll be backing Maou-sama, but I think AoT will still edge it out, unless a concerted effort is made to get AoT kicked out, of course. Should AoT win this, though, they'll waltz right into the final, because I just have a hard time seeing the winner of SNAFU/Chihayafuru(my prediction for the next round) taking out AoT. They COULD, but I just doubt it. So people if you don't want to see AoT get crowned, this is where you must make the stand!

Yeah! It is quite convincing.

Anyway, I vote for Magi. Reason? Because it eliminated Log Horizon and i'm grateful to it. Yup!

TWGOK because it was an atypical harem with "real" relationships where the protag actually suffers for winning, and wins are actually losses.

Here's something to think about. Magi is set in the world of the Arabian Nights, and it's not a harem.

*looks at the future matches* Interesting...

Magi for me. While I did enjoy this season of TWGOK, I did want to see the captures the skipped over at least in ova form or something. Because of that, and because I'm not a manga reader, there was a lot that felt missing. Oh, and not enough Elsie!

Of course, Magi did put Morg on a bus for the latter half. Still, the Magnostadt arc was pretty interesting and had a great villain in Mogamett. I'm also glad to see more of Aladdin. As usual in Magi, the social themes were good enough to get my brain thinking at 5 in the morning.

I will vote for TWGOK. The series as a whole is one of my favorites and the last season advanced the show in a good direction in my opinion. It added a little more urgency to the conquests.

My vote goes to: Magi

I'll keep this as short as humanly possible because I've already stated why I believe this series is great in the previous rounds:
Great setting, awesome characters, compelling plot, good use of politics and moral issues, and the action was fantastic. One of my favorites of 2013 without a doubt.

And looks like we've landed in the seed brackets. I have to say, some of these rounds are going to so unbelievably tense and exhilarating.

I cannot wait for the pain, suffering, and triumph. Bring it on chrome.

I just noticed the brackets.

Well, looks like Railgun S is screwed; honestly, I'll be shocked if Kill la Kill doesn't emerge from this first bracket. The second bracket looks good for me, though;one of my top three series of the year has a decent chance of making it into the semifinals.

I was never really pushing for any of the others, though, so the third and fourth brackets should be fun for me. Actually, this whole setup looks really good. This is (with the exception of Railgun S vs Kill la Kill) more or less how I wanted this round to play out.

Magi

My season favorite. Lived my life waiting for every episode until it ended. I would have died when it was over, if not for the manga and the possibility of another season.
