Maoyuu - 117

I have different numbers. Lol.

Maouyuu - 108
*Hataraku - 183
*WataMote - 132
*Non Non Biyori - 131
Outbreak Company - 120

Top 3 are still those though. Just not in the same order.

Were any votes invalid? My count was the same as build's, but we seem to have 3 extra votes.

No reason to split hairs I guess when the order doesn't change, but just curious.

I don't remember seeing invalid votes but I might have accidentally skipped some. I am a bit tired since I haven't had any sleep lately.
#watchingANIME lol

I'll use your and buldieb's numbers to be safe, thanks.
BTW, voting time's over. Battle #5 in a bit.

5- Watamote : I am giving this show a 5 because I want it in the next round. It is fantastically dark humor with a nugat of feels in the center. Also great anime-references.
4- Hataraku Mao-sama : This show is downright hilarious. I hope they animate more of the novels.
3- Maouyuu : Haven't seen it but it looks well drawn and interesting.
2- Outbreak Company: haven't seen it, heard good things.
1- Non Non Biyori : haven't seen it, no idea what it is about.

Hataraku Maou-sama takes it home. That's right. Season 2 when?

4) TWOGK 3 - It started off a bit fast but I got the hang of it. I knew that it would skip some of the manga material since I read a news prior to the airing. I just love this show though with Keima being the MC and the stories he tells with those girls involved. One of the best harems imo.

3) Log Horizon - a great show imo that really illustrated the MMOPRG world well although it has some pacing issues on occasions. Akatsuki also is adorable and I enjoy watching most of the episodes that ties in together stories to talk about.

2) The Unlimited Hyoubu Kyousuke - tbh, I think this is a dark horse. It offered surprises, delivered, but I didn't really get into the story as much as I had hoped for. It has a small cast of characters and I think watching it before getting into the Zettai Children franchise lessened my experience with this.

1) Valvrave the Liberator S1 - LOL. This show is all over the place. On some occasions, I wonder if the show is a parody but on other times, it gets ridiculous with its themes and characters. It does have a story though, despite all the absurdity wrapped around it. A few characters also were memorable and in that one particular episode..

I'll pass on the bonus round this time.

I'm not exactly passionate about any of these four, but there was one that stood out to me much more than the others. I think the winners of this battle should be pretty easy to predict.
Edit: Maybe I spoke too soon.

4 - TWGOK 3 (This season advanced the story and characterization in just the ways I wanted it to after season 2. It was interesting to watch Keima start to lose it after dealing with the goddesses and a certain major mix-up, but the season felt a little rushed in places, so I don't feel that it was quite what it could have been.)

3 - The Unlimited Hyoubu Kyousuke (I liked seeing a story told from the perspectives of a villain and a neutral party, and I liked the characterization of those two, but the series isn't something I find terribly memorable.)

2 - Log Horizon (It was too inconsistent to me; there were parts I really liked, such as Shiroe's founding of the Log Horizon guild, the training of the young players, and the origin of the Apocalypse, but a lot of other parts just felt 'meh' to me.)

1 - Valvrave S1 (I haven't seen this, but I researched it to prepare for when it came up. The story sounds like it could be interesting, but that's mostly in season 2, and the action seems like the kind of action that makes me not like mecha anime.)

Bonus Battle
4 - Accel World (I liked the approach to the battles, and I liked how the characters dealt with things.)

3 - Sword Art Online (I didn't really mind the second half; I felt both halves had their strong and weak points, but the intense fights and the way the game worlds were fleshed out held more weight for me than the weaker parts.)

2 - Log Horizon (See above)

1 - .hack//Sign (I've never seen it, but I've heard about it, and it just doesn't seem like my kind of anime.)

Are we not treating Valvrave as one entity? It won't win regardless, but I assumed we were during voting.

Anyway, going to sleep on it. If I'm cantankerous enough I might give Valvrape the Penetrator my 4 this round.

BATTLE 5

2 Hyoubu Kyousuke, I dropped it after 4 episodes. Can't even remember why so must not have been that good.

4 Valvrave S1, crazy fun series with musical numbers and over the top characters. Lots of fun though really silly. Vampire kids from space piloting mechs to save their school and nation. Amazing music from the TM Revolution & Miziki Nana OP to the OST to the Elisa EDs.

1 TWGOK 3, I dropped after three episodes. This harem always seems so tragic to me so I turn it off. I need my harems to be more fun. Less chance of death.

3 Log Horizon, good music, interesting premise and characters. Looking forward to the second season.

Bonus game battle :

4 Hack, original is best

3 Sword Art Online, Aincrad was good, Asuna is so hot.

2 Log Horizon, started well but didn't really go anywhere after one season

1 On Viz so I didn't really see it, couldn't watch it legally. I should give it a chance sometime.

hmm, //hack sign for life, then i'd go SAO, LOG horizon. accel world doesn't give me a feel of online gaming at all, just an extra dimension for fighting.

just a thought, it would be awesome if we did the best fighting scene/arc competition.

on wards to the battle, idk which of 4 four i would rate. i would practically rate all of them to be tied.

4- valvrave - i just really like mechas in general, thought it was an interesting universe.
3- unlimited HK - was epic without a doubt, forgot alot about it though
2- Log Horizon - really amazing, but didn't enjoy the flow of the second half
1- TWGOK - felt rushed

Battle #5

4 Valavrave S1 - It was no Code Geass, but it was sure a lot of fun and interesting to watch. I like the world they set up with the students on their own planet and how everyone bands together to fight for their freedom. The mecha action was also very fun to watch and did not disappoint. Oh and L-elf was just a great character with his strategies to turn the tide of war.

3 TWGOK 3 - I have not watched this season yet actually, but I've seen the first two and think this is a really solid show and an interesting deconstruction of the harem genre. I look forward to checking this one out soon enough.

2 Log Horizon - a very unique take on the whole trapped in game genre. I was not sold on the characters taking to their roles in ET so quickly without showing more raw emotion about the world they left behind and difficulty to adapt. Other than that, and some slow pacing in parts, it was great at what it was trying to accomplish with the mystery of the way the world worked and how they could exploit the system. I hope season 2 will answer more questions and bring some sort of resolution and not leave us hanging for another season.

1 The Unlimited Hyoubu Kyousuke - this is the first time I'm even hearing of this anime, and I have no clue what it's about. So, to the bottom it goes.

Bonus Match #1

4 Accel World - I absolutely adore this anime. It gave me such a compelling cast of characters and a very unique MC who is actually relatable. I just loved the world they set up and the relationships were handled very well too. I want another season of this stat!

3 Sword Art Online - not as good as Accel World, but still fairly interesting. The idea of being stuck in a death game was very compelling and I thought it was handled well except for the pacing and some silly deus ex moments. ALO was a bit of a let down, but still was good despite the subpar plot line. With more polish this would have been my top pick, but its flaws demote it to here.

2 .hack//Sign - this was the original trapped in MMO anime, and it was an interesting take on some colorful characters in that world. It was mostly a character study, which I enjoy. It just edges out LH by having more consistent emphasis on characterization and plot.

1 Log Horizon - see reasons above. But also I love the concept and cast of characters. However, I feel it could have been handled better by Studio Satelight. If I got more consistent character insight and motivations this would be higher up for sure.

Battle #5
4- Log Horizon - Great story and characters. Loved how everything played out. SEASON 2!

3- TWGOK 3 - Loved the story and characters. Read manga now that finished and loved that too. Hoping for another season.

2- The Unlimited Hyoubu Kyousuke - Synopsis got me interested and art style looks pretty good. Not seen though

1- Valavrave S1 - Not seen and don't generally like mecha anime. Not really interested.

Bonus Battle #1
4- Log Horizon - Same reasons as above.

3- Sword Art Online - First thing I watched after catching up with Naruto. Got me interested in the whole anime culture and wanting to watch more.

2- Accel world - Great story and characters. Wanted more but Log Horizon and SAO were better in my eyes.

1- .Hack// Sign - Haven't yet seen. Want to but because not seen means that it gets last place unfortunately. Will start the .Hack// series soon.

4 points - LOG HORIZON: I'm not a big fan of this anime, but out of this list, this is the best one. The plot is very redeeming. The character Princess Lenessia is very interesting.

3 points - Hyoubu Kyousuke: Again, not a fan. It was very promising at the start; this idea of a double agent..., then somewhere I just lost interest... because like always, anime likes to use the cliché of... evil guy becoming the good guy instead. *roll eyes*

2 points - Valvrave Season 1: Not a fan of mecha... it needs to be done really well to pique my interest. But at least it has a plot unlike TWGOK.

1 point - TWGOK season 3: Like Non non biyori, I just don't understand how this anime could garner so many fans. I don't find it funny or interesting... and the plot is repetitive... maybe just not my thing.

BONUS Match #1

4 points - Hack: Mysteriousness in the anime is what makes it good... unlike the other MMORPG anime where everything is explained for you.

3 points - Log Horizon: At least this anime actually focuses on the mechanics of an MMORPG... instead of roaming into random things like romance... (it did dedicate 1 whole episode to romance... but I hope they won't focus on it anymore)

2 points - Accel World: I feel like the characters have more substance than SAO.

1 point - Sword Art Online: A decent watch, but not great by any standards. Characters are too boring. Did not focus on MMORPG mechanics deeply. And I just feel like they escaped the game too easily...
