First of all let me say that Gargantia was an awesome anime that I really enjoyed, I always looked forward to the next episode.

That being said my vote goes to Railgun S mainly because of how awesome accelerator is. Also overall Railgun I feel was better than Gargantia.

Lmao, Misaka Mikoto is one lucky gal in this competition.

My vote goes to Railgun S because aside from the flaws this show presents, it is filled with cute, fun characters. Misaka is a dansel in distress when it comes to a difficult situation and her decisions are questionable, but she really doesn't want to involve others in something she caused. Kuroko is...i'll keep it PG and legal...no but seriously she's a funny character who cares about her friends and line of work. Satan is a flip-skirting, no power having character...i think she snooped around this season to help out, not much else. Uiharu is actually cute but she's an idiot. She's surprisingly useless, except at the end when i think she investigated on those scientists. Overall show is fun, nothing outstanding.

Gargantia is better. Both shows were average, but Gargantia was slightly better.

A Certain Scientific Railgun S

Misaka is my hero and my role model . When I watched this show, her relentless determination and desire to bring about the right changes in the lives of those around her was really inspiring. In a sense, she embodied a lot of what I wanted to be but simply wasn't at the time. The character development that she goes through in season 2 - when she learns to rely on others, and that it's okay if you can't do everything by yourself - makes me root for her that much more. Anyway, she actually changed who I was for the better (in that I'm not a lazy piece of crap anymore) and showed me how much a person can do when they work for it. Truly the best waifu.

Past that, I like everything else about this show too. Academy City is a very well developed setting, the seedy underbelly of which is enough to support the plots of two shows. The artwork that really allows the setting to shine through was also much better done this season. Something Railgun does much better than Index is that there isn't so much needless, nonsensical exposition weighing down the action scenes. The whole show flows better because of it. The supporting cast is charming, to the point where the character interactions could drive the series by itself.

Probably my favorite show of the year. Gargantia just doesn't hold up.

You cheeky person, you.....putting two of my hit list shows against each other meaning one will be knocked off but ensuring one will live for another round........

I can't really pick, both shows made it in at the expense of two of my Top 5 favorite shows from 2013.

And really I don't think it will matter who I vote for, Railgun has a sizable lead right now.

Eh, Gargantia because it has a mech in it.

Gargantia

The easy reason is because I haven't watched Railgun S. But since I did watch the first season of Railgun that I will say that I am definitely going to watch this show once Funi releases it and that I was willing to go with Railgun S against a another show that I have watched based on the merits of the first season. But not over Gargantia. That said, Gargantia has a well-constructed story, and is vintage Gen Urobuchi doing what he is known for (albeit less dark than his usual works). The way the show develops is just incredible, and the animation is great. A complete story is told in a very nice way.

Vote : To Aru Kagaku no Railgun S

Ask not why, but why not? Simply just tossing this vote over in this position rather than the latter. But honestly Accelerator is enough for me to give it this vote, he is everything I love to see in a villain, and knowing his role later on in this series gets my vote.
Is this suppose to be a lengthy reason?

Side note: Gargantia has a great start, but I have yet to finish it hence I can't vote for it atm. So my biased took the wheel...

What about the plot armor though? Accellerator had to have spent months in research figuring out attacks he could do that Touma COULD block.

It's the hardest thrown fight since Wrestlemainia 3.

*Shrugs*....In my head I like to believe Accelerator was the protagonist, and those pesky girls and touma ruined his glory...its was a deconstruction of a hero, without his happy end.....hahaha, But honestly touma doesnt exist for me within Railgun.

My vote goes to To Aru Kagaku no Railgun S because not only did it have my favourite male anime character in Accelerator but I was riveted to the screen every episode. I found with Suisei no Gargantia I was just watching each episode because I had already started watching it, it wasn't a bad show but it's not one of my favourites either.

Voting for:
Suisei no Gargantia

Tbh, I would of voted Railgun S if it wasn't for that atrocious Silent Party arc that not only was a chore to watch but also destroyed some logic with the direction it went. (character-wise, mood, and even plot points).

Anyways, I enjoyed Suisei no Gargantia for its action, drama, and setting. I do admit that some of the episodes felt a bit slow and lacked strength. A mini thought taken from a review I've written awhile ago:
