Totally Railgun S. OMG. LOVE Kuroko and Misaka. The first half of this anime really questioned the ethicality of humane experiments. This show really did a good job to explore Misaka's feelings towards this issue.

Didn't expect Railgun S to dominate.
Is this the true dark horse?

Well it was gonna do good, I didn't expect it to be this *beloved* though... especially with how close the 4way was.

Could be that people just don't care that much about Gargantia.

Edit: In fairness, it didn't question ANYTHING. "Let's clone people and then murder then because we don't really know what else to do with them, and they're just sitting around and hell this might work' is more the kind of evil plot that Ming the Merciless would reject as 'too over the top'.

The researchers goals and methodology are utterly senseless on every level, they imply there's some profit to be made, but it's not remotely explored (probably because the author couldn't figure it out). Presumably, if Touma hadn't stepped in, it would have followed the normal anime mad scientist story and Accellerator would have killed all the people who 'created' him once he hit level 6.

Railgun S questioned the ethics of human experimentation the same way that a cartoon of cops hunting street kids for sport with drones would question the ethics of police work.

Gargantia because it is getting thrashed so it's not like my vote will matter much. Plus dat Amy dance scene.....yeeaaaaaaah. Oh and Chamber was cool too.

Gargantia for sure. It was a solid series, and I have a lot more respect for it than Railgun.

My Vote Goes to: A Certain Scientific Railgun S

Is it unfortunate that stupid Touma shows up in the middle of Misaka's arc? Yeah, it sucks and Touma sucks. However, the character development we see in Misaka over the course of the arc is just that good, that I can overlook it. There is something compelling about watching someone who has always had the power to fix things themselves struggle against forces they can not overcome. Everything Misaka does in this arc is born out of years of being the one with the most power: all her decisions and mistakes, her stubbornness and her heartbreak. I don't know if I could even remember the number of potent emotional moments that crop up in the show, even small funny ones like her interactions with #10032.

It's a well-presented, compelling story and I also find it relevant to our current culture, as we collectively move closer and closer to being able to clone humans. Who is to say that, in the far future, there will not be a girl who goes through something similar? If that girl needs a hand up in dealing with the tragedy of her situation, I'm not going to deny it to her.

And the Silent Party arc wasn't THAT bad.

Why Not Gargantia?
Despite the fact that Chamber was one of the most compelling characters of the year (and he's a robot), where Railgun has the Silent Party arc, Gargantia has the whole second half of the season. Pinion as an antagonist? Give me a break.

I don't like Gen Urobuchi. Let's make that clear. I appreciate the themes he engages in his writing, but I HATE the way he talks about them. And Gargantia wasn't even one of his most cohesive thematic works. And then there's that episode...I'm still facepalming.

Man, counting points isn't as hard (read: not as fun) as the other battles...

Railgun: 26
Gargantia: 13

I encourage everyone to keep voting, even if the show you want to continue seems to be way in the lead or way behind.

When was Pinion an antagonist? He was a good guy the whole way through. I guess you must have dropped it as soon as something happened that you didn't like.

I actually watched the entire show; I certainly wouldn't be as articulate about it if I hadn't: as I recall Pinon abandons Gargantia out of pride and forms his own fleet, until he joins with the cultists and subsequently un-joins them and rebels.

I find it rude that you assume I would drop the show just because something I didn't like happened. I actually watched the entire thing. Sorry if you don't agree with my opinion, but that's the way of the world. There's no need to attack me.

Railgun S was a lot of fun to return to and the redoing of the sisters arc was fantastic.

Gargantia was great too with some amazing visuals but some of the flair from its twist wasn't so great with the same twist having been done in the previous season by From the New World.

My Vote: Railgun S

Well I would assume that if you watched the entire thing that you would know what happens in it. He was never an antagonist.

My vote:

Railgun S!

Gonna have to go with Misaka Mikoto since she is a pretty awesome main character. The Sister's arc was truly emotional and it was suspenseful seeing Misaka struggle throughout that arc and seeing the back story about the sisters

The next match. Hmmmm I wonder how that's gonna play out. Both are fairly popular but I guess that one is gonna dominate as well.
