Even though the relationship is BULLSHIT (excuse my *** language), the second half deteriorated the quality of the show, and the characters were irritating, Golden Time was still more enjoyable than Nagi no Asukara. I'd take a crappy ending over an entire series that puts an idiotic love octagon (hell, they even included the little boy!) ahead of a serious issue about saving the surface. I honestly don't care who wins or loses this, it just reminds me of that horrific past season so....Golden Time gets the reluctant vote.

Nagi No Asukara

This gets my vote easily. It was melodramatic at times indeed, but the story overall was amazing! The aesthetics were so beautiful too. This series deserves every piece of praise it receives. It’s emotional, lively, and optimistic, the exact definition of Nagi No Asukara. When it ended, I felt like I watched something marvelous. The start with Hikari was kinda irksome to me. As the show continued on, his growth was immense and truly a sight to behold. If your into romance/drama, this is definitely the show you need to be watching. This is x100000000 better than Golden Time. Nagi no Asukara greatest strength is being an emotional ride (for those that like these things) and that it takes huge risks. There were times that I would be sad for Miuna. There were times I would think Miuna was melodramatic, but in the end. The feelings about this show were what made it great. Same can be said for all the characters in the show. After thinking about the ending much,(don't click if you don't want to know the last scene of the series)

P.A Works at its finest and I for one will not be forgetting the enjoyment and amazement this series brought. As my friends and I would say, even the praise wouldn't do this show justice. This may have to be defined as majestic.

Would write more, but a thunderstorm is crashing my party and I am under a tornado watch atm LOL, so I had to quickly finish this up before power went out!

Lol, this match is funny. As much as I enjoyed Golden Time to some degree, Nagi no Asukara blows it out of the water (literally). My main concern is Golden Time's second half that suffered numerous problems. On the other hand, Nagi no Asukara has a strong character cast with actual development and relationship building as well as fantasy themes. Characters mature and actually possesses tolerable personalities. And technical wise, P.A. Works really set the bar high. Golden Time had good moments but the second half was not very enjoyable as much as I had hoped for the first.

So yeah, easy vote for me this round: Nagi no Asukara

I got a feeling this one might make it into the semi-finals.

I knew this match-up was coming sooner or later, but I didn't expect it to be so soon. I wonder how close this one will be.

I vote for Nagi no Asukara. First of all, I love all of the characters in this series, both main and supporting. I found it really easy to get invested in them and the ordeals they had to deal with, from relatively normal teenage relationship drama to their entire village succumbing to the out-of-control emotions of a god. I know a lot of people complain about the drama, but it never felt like too much to me, possibly because I felt like it was focused on the characters; I felt like I was watching these characters deal with things that, while trivial for someone my age, are really big and difficult for kids their age. The romance aspects also really worked for me. I was impressed by the way the characters reacted to and dealt with most of the romantic developments later on; there were several points when they really subverted my expectations. As someone who is pretty picky about romance, I loved seeing such non-typical romance play out. And of course, I loved the coming-of-age themes. I love most coming-of-age stories, and this one was no exception. I felt like I was right there alongside the main cast, watching them all grow up and learn to deal with things as adults, a little bit at a time, and that was a great feeling for me. I know some people feel that some of the developments could have been done without, but I personally felt like every single episode counted, and in a 26-episode series, that's not easy to pull off. This is a series that I'm really passionate about (if you couldn't tell), and it's my favorite work yet from my favorite anime studio, P.A. Works.

As for Golden Time, I really enjoyed seeing the crazy relationship between Banri and Koko develop. I felt the series had a lot of really interesting concepts, and a lot of them were done in a way that impressed me, considering I'm picky about romance (especially romance dramas). But the 'ghost Banri' thing always felt a little off to me; I liked the concept, but I feel like it wasn't really done justice. I felt like the first half was enjoyable to watch and definitely had me looking forward to each new episode, but never felt all that special to me. I felt that the second half improved on this, but also suffered from more issues with the presentation of 'ghost Banri' and started to take a turn towards the more typical down the stretch, especially with Koko's character; a character who had been one of my favorites throughout the series suddenly felt kind of generic to me. The ending was also kind of a mixed bag for me. Overall, I enjoyed watching it, but I don't like it as much in retrospect.

P.A. Works can't seem to stay consistent for more than 13 episodes...same thing with Hanasaku Iroha.

My vote goes to : Nagi No Asukara

Simply, because the artwork in this series was beautiful... I haven't watch a P.A. Works series before but I'm glad I did. The characters were likable even though they were kids at first, BUT I LOVED the fast forward, it was different and great at the same time. How some of the characters turned to pre adults/teenagers through years, well some of the characters did.... Either way the drama was intriguing... THE CRAZY mix matches on who likes who ... everything was awesome. I really enjoyed it.

Also not a vote...

Third match in a row where I've seen neither of the anime involved. I guess you are getting all of the ones I haven't seen out of the way first However I will be adding Nagi no Asukara to my "to watch" list, as people seem to be pretty enthusiastic about it!

Why would you do this to me? I can't believe I have to decide between the two so soon. But I suppose my vote will go to Golden Time because I feel like it's gonna get rekt otherwise. So here's to Golden Time standing a chance against NagiAsu. For the record, I really enjoyed both series.

Usually in these types of stories I like the side characters more than the main pair, and 'lo and behold that holds true. Golden Time gets the award for the most mismanaged side-characters of 2014; however, I feel agony thinking of voting for Nagi no Asakura. Thus, Golden Time suckers me into giving it a vote.

Also, @windsagio I found some. They're pretty hilarious, and incomplete - seems it's pretty difficult to convey the complexity.

Not a vote.

I don't know about this one. Nagi is so gorgeous...but Golden Time has 2D-kun!

I think I'll abstain this round.
