I think if Kaneki actually used his full powers he would not have been injured by Amon but they could not let that fight finish so easily.

This adaption both season 1 and 2 have been pretty poor to decent

Yea...pretty good fight between Kaneki and Amon. Not comparing it to manga, pretty episode overall I guess.

I'm really glad there wont be a Season 3, this "alternate route" hasn't been so alternate and in a very very very BAD WAY.

@Rem.....I think Amon is dead.

hmm. i had assumed kaneki did he bs "break the weapon" so he can't fight

i was only half paying attention though so i may have missed it

Tbh....I don't even know if he's dead, and I'm not even sure if Takizawa(the no name ) is dead. Itd almost be like impossible for them to wrap everything up next episode.

It's...been a pretty poor-decent adaptation. .....I would really like to tell you to go read the manga....but I the anime probably turned you off from the series.

Don't let yourself get turned off, the manga is more than worth the read.

Oh no no, I have read the manga.

One of my favorites actually, I was talking about her.

Like Yowa said...it's been a pretty poor to decent adaptation imo. On the positive not, Re has been awesome.

Finally saw episode 23 .

I wont call it terrible adaptation , I would say that the adaptation is different. I had a feeling they were going to change it but the question is how they will end it. Will it lead to the manga sequel or not becuase it will be stupid if they do not, I realy liked the sequel.

LIke in the previous chapters, they kept what really happened overall and so I think they will do the same way Kaneki will be as in the manga but how it lead to it will be different since he is not in the same place as in the manga.

This is what I hope.
I kept remembering what the anime production did to Blue Exorcist. They pretty much ended the story and the manga is lost on its own,.

Episode 12 (Finale)

And so, this show comes to an end, and that was underwhelming. It's basically all reflections from the previous battle with Kaneki carrying Hide, who had been mortally wounded in battle, but lived long enough to enjoy one last cup of coffee together. As for Touka, she was told by Yomo to live on, and she does exactly that by becoming a waitress at a different coffee shop called :re (which is the name for the manga). It carried lots of emotion, but at the same time it was slow and doesn't do much for the story in general seeing that we don't know what became of everybody who's still living.

Final Thoughts

Given that this season diverges from the manga that I'm not so surprised that this season was a step down in quality. The thing that irks me the most about this season is the portrayal of Kaneki as I'm just can't get behind his decision to join Aogiri for the sake of getting strong enough to protect those close to him. The story's structure is just all over the place in this season, which is the biggest problem about this season. That said, the action remains strong, while it maintains its strong storytelling that the first season brought on to make me feel for both humans and ghouls in this conflict. It's just that it's aimed at the wrong people, leading to problems with the execution of this filler plot. This show started out really strong, but had been going downhill since the beginning of the Aogiri Tree arc.

Grade: B- (7/10) for season 2, B (8/10) overall

ep 12

Finally, the person under the cloth is revealed. A fitting end, and hearing Unravel once again was just perfect, it should've stayed the as OP for the second season as well.

When the first episode diverged from the manga (cutting off at one of the best moments) I thought this would end up like shit. That was a bad assumption. The action, as well as the flow of storytelling is perhaps the best aspect of the second season and I definitely enjoyed it more than expected.

A Tokyo Jack Ghoul OVA has been confirmed so that's something to look out for. Even thought the side story was kind of short, it was a good read.
