DC has had some incredibly compelling stories in the past and Batman is my favorite super hero, hands down. That said, Marvel has a deeper universe, more complex characters (not just the Batman family), great film franchises, and a greater variety of characters in general. So, in the end, I chose Marvel.

I wish DC was in the lead. Darn Marvel.

I prefer the DC universe over Marvel's because how DC's superheroes look and feel like superheroes. To me, a majority of the Marvel heroes sans the ones like Spiderman and Captain America don't seem like the type who would give themselves up for the greater good. Also, I'm not much of a fan of the amount of grit the Marvel universe has. Justice League > Avengers any day.

I'm fairly new to comics I guess but I prefer Marvel, more entertaining characters, has more intriguing story lines and just appeals to me more.

I just couldn't get into Wonder Woman or Super Man, although I do like Batman.

I really love some of Marvel's wittier characters like Spiderman, Deadpool and Iron Man. Those three are my favourite!

The Avengers > The Justice League

Vertigo is an imprint of DC. They publish more mature comics. There is a small amount of crossover with the DC universe. They have some great titles. V for Vendetta, Hellblazer, Fables, etc... My favorite is The Sandman. If you haven't read it, you should drop everything and do so now. Seriously. It's that good.
