I'd never even heard of the Chromecast until now. I guess that means the Wii U really is the bottom of the barrel for a streaming app?

You must not have visited the "Help!" section of the forum much since it was released. Melicans wrote: I'd never even heard of the Chromecast until now. I guess that means the Wii U really is the bottom of the barrel for a streaming app? Note the paucity of video apps beyond the "big 3" on the Wii U. Every wonder why that is? Anyone can develop an app for the Chromecast. That certainly isn't the case for the Wii U. If you haven't heard of the Chromecast before, you must avoid tech news like the plague. While Google hasn't announce sales numbers, they may have already sold more units of it than the Wii U. (It sells for only $35). patricktiel wrote: why chromecast i think there more windows 8 people that want a app zo we can watch on pc/tablet and TV Apparently you don't visit the "Help" section of the forum very often. If the requests in the there section are anything to go by, yes, more people asked for it than a Windows 8 app. Also, a Windows 8 app is a matter of convenience, since on a Windows 8 device, you can view CR via the web browser. Before this, the only way you could view CR on a Chromecast is if you had a computer with the Chrome web browser, and used tab casting (which was less than optimal, especially if you had an older computer). |

Really excited about this. Chromecast is by far the most convenient way to watch shows.

If only using chromecast wasn't such a pain in the ass when you mainly use another device and never think about the input setting on your TV. At least my GoogleTV works for me in that case. Though I only have one room I can watch CR in as a result (outside of tablet and PC).
I do need to think about the others in the house who don't know how to change the input. |
