New Roku Update!

After the update, I'm stuck trying to re-link my device since the update automatically unlinked me. I'm stuck at "This screen will automatically update as soon as your activation completes." I added my device an hour ago and I'm still waiting.

Tried turning roku off and on again.
Tried turning computer off and on again.
Tried logging out and in again on computer.
Tried a new code.
Tried entering the same code more than once (first try always succeeds and all subsequent tries always fail).
Tried removing and re-adding code.
Tried waiting a long time.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I agree, I have experienced way too many issues that I never did before. Also what is the reason for removing the thumbnails for your queue. If they are maintained when browsing normally just leave them for the queue so we can choose what episodes we want. I seriously hate the new app. Maybe these suggestions can be taken into account and used to resolve these issues or give those of us who had no problems with the previous app the ability to choose.

I would just like to add that this new update is completely frustrating. The quality is lower, the ability to find and play the anime I would like is difficult, and fastforwarding in an episode is an exercise in frustration. This is the absolute worst update you have ever done on the Roku, and I would like to beg you to eliminate this update until you can create a functioning app.

is there a way i get the old version back? i like the old one better. it show me what episode on i am and i can resume it now its like a maze
and the old version didn't have ads popping up. I WANT MY OLD CRUNCHYROLL APP BACK! PLEASE SENPAI!!!!

My wife and I like the old version better. The update has removed/lost the following functionality:

1) From the Queue, it is no longer possible to select a specific episode (have to return to the menu, find the show, and then select).

2) The screen is showing fewer episodes/shows per screen, due to the larger thumbnails. We prefer to see smaller thumbnails and a larger selection.

3) Frames are gone when fast-forwarding/rewinding; skipping ahead or backwards seems to be blind now.

4) No more "Start From Beginning" option. This was a handy feature that I used a lot.

5) When watching a show from the Queue, the Left/Right buttons don't select previous/next episodes. When watching a show NOT in the Queue, the Left/Right buttons work.

I think that using the Play/Pause button to go to the menu is a non-intuitive choice. The Play/Pause button should PLAY THE EPISODE.

So far, there is nothing about the update that we like.

Whoa. I just asked about a Roku update at Otakon a week ago.

That was fast.

Also, one quick suggestion, I strongly recommend using the * key for the Main Menu over play/pause. It honestly took me 26 seconds (yes, I timed it as that's what I do for Roku) to figure out the arrow next to "Main Menu" was in fact a Play arrow. From what I've seen, * is almost always used on Roku for options or a menu. And now that I think about it, I lied, one more suggestion: the Back button should actually be functional on the Settings screen. That was another case of using the "Main Menu" to get back as not being very intuitive. Take a look at your PS3 and PS4 apps. The key mappings in those match up with what I think you'd expect for a Playstation app (ie: Triangle for the menu). Your Roku app currently doesn't match Roku standards (but that's fixable ;)).

Good start, and I'm definitely very happy to see HD at long last. I bought my first Roku just for Crunchyroll streaming. I have three now.

Haven't been able to add a new series to the Queue (we're probably missing how, but the fact that we're missing it tells me that it's non-intuitive.)

Genres are missing. Please BRING BACK GENRES.

Sailor Moon Crystal Episode 4 is crashing regularly around the 3/4s point.

If these UI issues are not addressed shortly, I expect that we'll be cancelling our paid subscription.

Wife and I have an older Roku; we do not have some of the assumed buttons on the remote control.

This new UI is a terrible move, Crunchyroll. We are very disappointed customers.

I get to watch the dancing rav4 family over and over and over again if I hit the back arrow by accident while watching a show.
Bonus, I now get triple the commercials..... I love you 'new and approved' roku app.

I agree, GoldComet. Navigation is much worse in the new version. I also had it freeze on me, and I had to quit and restart the channel.

The only thing I like is the button that skips back a bit, though I'm not sure if it's new or not - I only used it after the arrow keys didn't work.

Unlike some others, I haven't noticed any quality problems when actually playing, though.

This update completely sucks. I have to go back to the main anime browse screen just to find and watch old episodes of my favorite shows? Are you kidding me? If this is the way that the Roku app is going to be from now on, I'll be cancelling my subscription shortly and will just go back to Hulu, Netflix, or fansub sites on my computer.

Epic fail CrunchyRoll.

I have a Roku2, liked the old interface.

New interface is not user friendly.

Also, not liking the triple commercials and commercials in the middle of episodes. Before the update, I'd get 1 (sometimes 2) commercials before the episode and that was it.

Went to watch Harlock: Space Pirate on Netflix, then I came back later to CR and found this piece of garbage UI. I have an older TV (no HD), I really think this should have been tested much, much more before being released. It's like it's in Alpha/early Beta

App is horrible. What is the point of the Queue if you cant chose episodes from there? Old app was better.
