dont like the inability to watch an early episode in a series. if i were want to rewatch it. i should not have to actually go find it if it is part of my que. not all the control's work on the remote and it take forever to load.

The look of the new app is good, but the functionality seems to have taken a big step in the wrong direction. The Queue is now a string of preview boxes, but no way to tell if the episode has been watched besides memory or playing the episode. It would be nice if My Queue actually indicated episodes that were watched and those that are new. An easy way might to give you access to that Anime's full list of episodes by pressing Up or Down arrows while on the Queue's preview box or something similar to how a web browser functions now.
The Roku left-arrow key (at the top of the remote), does not seem to do anything, or at least no the "cancel, previous screen, back" functions as shown on the "help" screen.
Well, there's more issues but I think that is enough. A simple solution to it all might be to reinstall the old controls and add the improvements you were going for in this version.
Just my point of view.

CR get yer act together and let us know when you will be rolling back to the previous version of the app. At the very least you could acknowledge everyones legitimate complaints about the new UI and affirm that there is some kind of corrective action in progress. I can honestly see alot of Roku users unsubscribing myself included if you don't.

Could you also remove the little tagline on this topic that states "The Crunchyroll App on Roku is better than ever! " It seems like yins have blinders on to what your customers actual opinions are.

First I'll point out i have this app on NowTV box. It updated but then wouldn't play anything, I have turned it off since so maybe it is now resolved but as others are saying the inability to see which episodes you have watched in your queue is a little annoying, I for one know I have fallen asleep watching anime before, so it might think I have seen the episode when I actually only managed half of it. Some series with more complex or multilayered plots may require that second watch and others are just that good you want to watch it again and again.

Personally I feel the old adage comes in to play here. "If it is not broke, do not fix it!"

Frankly, a UI mess like this is an Epic fail on the QA and release management of the product!

1.) Was this actually tested on real users and their feedback taken serious?
2.) Did anyone check the original App for the how the UI works and what it needs to do in the current release?
3.) Why does the PlayStation App, that this Roku release looks like, actually work and provide the necessary interface operations, but this one does not?

I don't care about better startup/shutdown/movie load time if the UI breaks my ability to find, select, watch, and update my Queue.

As a paying customer, I'm not happy about having to avoid the Roku Crunchyroll app until it's fixed.

This will suck travelling, where I can't fall back to my PlayStation if I want to use my Roku Stick instead of watching on the small screen (iOS iPad) or work on connecting the laptop.

I know how hard it is to product manage a software product, but a key is to start with documentation about what it MUST do, then ensure that the WHAT specified is met by the HOW and WHEN of the developers. Next, EA the approach with real people and end-users to ensure that product meets market requirements and does not fail to delivery original capabilities.

Only glad I'm not alone in thinking version 2.0 should be deprecated immediately and the old app restored until the next generation version works and passes customer muster.

Maybe use the CON's you attend to test with real users and real accounts to see if the new App is worth it, and what needs to be fixed before it hits the full audience.

Also, based on what I've seen in this feedback, a fast correction and update is essential.

I am a bit disappointed in the queue. I have several people in my house who are watching the same series but are at different points in the show. When you go in from the queue the most recent episode pops up ,it doesn't let you choose an episode, you have to search for the show in the search menu. Its very inconvenient please fix this.

You guys seriously going to fix this garbage version of your app. I mean I would at this point just fire your entire app development team. The PS3 one still has memory leak issues and then you go and update the Roku one to match the PS3 one and I find there are a bunch of issues...

-you can not select episodes on a series... the button that supposed to do it does not bring up the individual window for that episode.
-fastforward or rewind is a joke... seriously need the current time on the screen please its hard to guess how far ahead I have skipped.
-fix your button shortcuts and put them on the screen.
-also that dam loading wheel can die in a fire... its not on my ps3 version but on my Roku version, seriously WTH

How about you just go back to the old one as that one actually worked. I also enjoyed the frame skip method (that is like netflix) on the old one not this random guess and hope I am in the right spot with this version.

Seriously you guys seem to find more ways to make your apps worse not better, and if were lucky you will get around to doing something about this in 2015 as it seem you guys never ever respond to feed back. Why in the hell should I keep paying for something if you guys are going to continue to keep producing crap app for us to use. TEST THEM BEFORE YOU RELEASE THEM!

The app looks nice but like everyone else I'm very unhappy with the queue. That is the feature I use most and now its almost useless. Did anyone test this app before release? Please we need the ability to choose episodes from a series we have in queue.

I'm very unhappy with this so-called upgrade. The old UI was light-years more user friendly than the new one. Also, I had never had my viewing interrupted mid-episode to buffer (until the so-called upgrade). Also, why is it stopping every 5 minutes or so to play multiple ads? I didn't mind it when it was just one or two ads before playing the episode, but now it's just silly. I was trying to watch the latest ep of Aldnoah Zero, but got completely disgusted with the constant stopping for ads, so I didn't finish watching the episode. Also, where have the categories gone? That was one of the best things about the old UI, I could sort through what genre I wanted to watch at that time. And now we can't even go through the different episodes for a show without more button mashing. Used to be you could scroll with the arrow buttons... no more of that.

Two words..

Ugh, I hate this new update. I can't fast forward and see how far I'm going. Not to mention it stops immediately if I let the button go rather than continuing to fast forward. Basically, fast forward is useless. I also can't tell if I've watched an episode until I actually click into it, and it starts up. Oh there's a full bar. Yeah, I watched this one. So late to tell me. How about before I start playing it again. I also have bad eyesight and a big TV. Why did you make the darn words smaller??!!!

Add another user unhappy with the new Roku UI.

I frequently let eps of a series stack up a bit and watch 2 or 3 at a time. I don't see any way to watch more than the top one from the queue now. I had to exit the app and start it again to get the next ep to the top of the queue for that series.

I have been using Crunchyroll in Roku for 2 years. I do not like this update. It is not user friendly and it makes it harder to search previous episodes and new options too. Please go back to the previous version. This new version is terrible. Perhaps the desire was a good one but the outcome is not user friednly at all. It even makes me inclined to cancel my Premium Membership and use another app instead. There are other options available in Roku, and this one is not the best any longer.
