Thank you for finally getting us the Roku app in HD!

That said, I do have some issues with the new interface I would like to see addressed in an update.

Positives:
- Flawless HD playback! (This here is why we wanted the update and you delivered, kudos)
- All titles are now searchable and accessible from the app! (No more missing episodes or shows)
- Saves episode progress from where it was last paused when reloading the episode.

Negatives:
- Cannot access a series page or episode list from my queue, must search for the show page instead.
- There is no restart episode from beginning option. (In contrast, FUNimation's Roku app has a pre episode screen allowing for both options)
- Laggy interface, especially compared to the previous version.
- No more thumbnail images when fast forwarding or rewinding the video stream, makes finding a scene more tedious.

I would greatly appreciate these negatives get addressed in the next update to the Roku app. Just take a look at FUNimation's Roku app and see how it has better navigation and ease of use, though not perfect, and still provides flawless HD playback. I will say the video playback experience thus far has been the best of any CR stream I've used to date, so thank you very much for making that a reality.

Why bother with a queue? It only shows either the last show watched or the one coming as a blank place holder. I found that using the search function gave me something similar to the old queue where I could pick an episode randomly within a series, but only one at a time and the search results are not persistent.
Who did the Beta testing on this? I never heard of it being released for "live" testing and seriously doubt the professionalism of the development team that destroyed some of the best features the old app had. This is not an improvement and honestly it is such a difficult app to use now I don't care how much sharper the image is when all I can think is "when this episode is over and I want to watch another it's really gonna suck trying to find it."

Major Fail. Time to go watch Funimation again.

I HATE this update...it was really a huge downgrade, and super NOT user friendly. All I can get to is my current queue and history. No other episodes, no other shows to browse, I can't get to the icons at the top at all...
I have an older Roku, very limited buttons, but from reading through the comments, it doesn't seems like upgrading my Roku will help either. I can't believe how disappointed I am.
Please Please Please add another channel then, the old one for those of us who loved it and this new one for those who want the cumbersome non-user friendly HD version.

But personally I feel ambivalent. I don't personally care at all about having HD, and the only thing I don't like about the current Roku experience is how long it "hangs" after an episode has finished playing.

I feel like in the upgrade I'm going to lose more things that I like, than gain features I will like. :(

(But I'll report back later after I've been forced into the upgrade). Maaaybe it won't be so bad.

That's how I feel. But then again I'm in a super minority here as someone who has always been pretty happy with the old app. The queue is really bothering me right now and I already miss the thumbnails, and it took me longer than I care to admit to figure out that I needed to use the play button to navigate to the menu.. Sad to say this UI feels even less intuitive than Funimations app.

OMG the Funimation app sucks, so dose their website compared to Crunchyroll!

why wouldn't everyone want HD? But I'm not a complete fan of the new update (I miss the series thumbnails) and not being able to easily go to a previous episode is crazy... its also a sham we don't get an ETA for the release of the next episode (Like: available in 3 days) and it does seem quite a bit slower to load and preform other functions...Keep working at it Crunchyroll!!! :D

you don't have a "Play" button? or maybe you just didn't realize thats how you access the main menu?

Premium user: Basically what others have said. Needing to back out of the app to advance to the next episode, not being able to browse episodes from the queue, ect. Sure, you can search for it, if you want to spend 20x the time, and if you can remember what you had queued up to watch next. Huge downgrade, very disappointing.

In addition to not having an easy way to watch an earlier episode of a series, (as in the case of showing a show to a friend), there is also a problem when you are caught up on a currently airing series. For example, Kill la Kill has as its thumbnail "Next episode not available yet" or however it's worded, and is totally un-interactible. I suppose it is possible that I am missing something, but the number of buttons on a roku remote are limited, and I've tried them all.

This is the worst upgrade ever. Extremely lame interface. Reminds me of Sony PS3 interface of crunchy roll. Please change the interface as soon as possible.

The aesthetics of the application of the ROKU, after the update + on is great, but as always nothing is perfect and I have the problem that SUBTITLES ARE ONLY IN ENGLISH, SPANISH and in need, help correcting this small mistake in not allowing change the language of the subtitle.

A greetings from ECUADOR.

Pros: Picture is clear

Cons: everything else.

Seriously, who thought that pressing play to access the menu was a good idea? That has to be the most unintuitive design choice ever. Why not the asterisk button that accesses options on nearly every other roku app? And don't get me started on removing all the other functionality people have talked about (choosing episodes for series in queue, etc.)

It's nice that it looks better than the old app, but I would much rather that it be useable than pretty. On the upside, all the extra time I'm spending trying to find the thing I want to watch I'm spending looking at a prettier menu, so there is that.

It's like this was designed by a drunken chimp.

The layout itself is really pleasing to the eye, and I am *really* excited about the fact that the exact moment of an episode I was watching on another device was captured the second the app was opened on Roku. It took more time than I'd care to admit to try to figure out how to navigate around the selections. There is some lag when trying to move from selection to selection. I'm okay with those little quirks; however, the process of trying to navigate to an episode other than the one I am immediately on seems like it was definitely not designed with the end user's needs in mind. It's pretty user unfriendly. I really adore Crunchyroll and the Roku app prior to the upgrade. Please, please, please fix the same things everyone keeps fussing about in this thread.

1) Takes up more bandwidth and one's internet might not handle HD streaming well.

2) Lower resolution looks fine on smaller tv's.

3) Old fogeys like me grew up used to far worse video quality and the quality we get without HD is so superior to what we once were used to that going HD doesn't seem like an important quality of life issue.

The app unintuitively uses the play/pause button to access the menu.

One would expect to just use the up arrow to get to the top, and then the right and left arrows to select. As it is, we don't even get a "bonk" sound to give feedback that the up arrow isn't going to work (and perhaps some text reminding the user to use the play/pause button), it simply doesn't.

...And here I was thinking I would be the only being a bit negative about the update. I love the picture, but having to exit the app each time to watch a different episode in the same series is a pain.
