Is it possible to hate on mediocrity?

I liked SAO up until they ended the SAO part. The ending seemed really cheap/rushed. It's gotten worse since then. Really has fallen into the realm of trash anime. It's clearly meant for a younger audience, and that's fine I guess. I still watch it, because I like the MMO aspect, but it usually irritates me a little.

I don't see how you're getting butthurt over my statement. You can't say definitely that you hate something that you don't even know fully about. If I'm going to say I hate something, I will know more about it so I can say why I hate it, not just completely ignore it. Ignorant hate is not true hate.

I'm not the one who's butthurt over someone who hates a show I like.

I, on the other hand, am getting rather annoyed by the fact that your skull is so thick that you can't seem to grasp any sense of what I have been saying.

**I, for once, now regret ever posting on a thread here in CR. You've caught me while I'm in a very volatile mood. I will end this here.

I'm glad you've decided to end this, because it was going nowhere. I can see that you won't back down and hold your opinion as true, and I feel the same way.

Hate is a strong word. I prefer just intense dislike.

The animation is good and the music is awesome. In terms of production value, it is solid. But my god, the story is poorly executed, the main plot is thrown out the window, side characters are bearly there and the main characters are just the dullest, generic and downright annoying pair I've come across. I'm very tolerant towards unintentionally annoying characters, but Kirito and Asuna are the only sole exceptions I've ever made.

Worst part is that when I first saw it, I liked it. The fact that I rant about this says how far it fell. But this is all my opinion. I won't criticize anyone who likes it. You have every reason to enjoy it, it's just that I don't.

Personally me conquering over 85 animes SAO really doesn't compare to some of them. SAO Is a great first anime to watch when you are first getting into anime. I think they should have kept the romance at a low level (don't get me wrong I love romance in Anime) and focused on Kirito becoming more bad**s. They needed to give more time for the show to develop and the relationships formed within it not just let it become your average run-of-the-mill badass gets all the girls harem anime. They should have just made the SAO incident into one arch and just called it a day. What I am saying doesn't mean it is a terrible show, personally I find it quite an interesting and catching show, if you are first looking into getting into anime here are the top 10 I recommend.

Blue Excorcist (Dubbed I like it better IDK why.)

Sword Art Online

The Familiar of Zero

Toradora

The Devil Is a part timer! (Dubbed I like it better aswell.)

Gurren Lagann (It's a pretty good show but you need to let it develop)

Oreimo (If you are not into Incest I do not recommend this, really though this show is one of the worlds most known incest anime and let me tell you it is honestly one of the best shows I have ever seen.)

Nisekoi (Awesome bro)

No Game No Life (This show is literally straight up mind f**k)

Highschool DxD (If you are feeling cheeky, it's Ecchi though so if you aren't into that kinda stuff don't watch it (Ecchi = Exposed breasts and highly sexual themes). Personally I am saying this seriously the story is actually very good, I recommenced watching the subbed and dubbed version of this. Dubbed is hilarious but subbed has some of my favorite Japanese voice actors so I would first watch it in subbed fully appreciate it.)

This here sums it up pretty good^

Most people don't hate SAO. It's just that a show that isn't even that good is getting more attention as it should thus making people irritated about it. Also observing something with alot of potential turning into a pile of mediocrisity can be frustrating and distressing.

Most likely the plot? I think that's the case for the most part.

Hmm, I myself am not a fan anymore .... but I wouldn't say that I "hate" SAO. The show has simply lost my interest (though I probably should poke into the second season and give it a chance to re-capture my interest).

Well said. You've been on point this whole thread countering a lot of the nonsense out there. I'm also amazed at the dedication of those that constantly post negative stuff about SAO after claiming it was not good for them. I notice it tends to be the same users posting whatever anti SAO rant they can in whatever thread they can starting the flame wars time and again. I have not once seen a rabid fan of SAO praise it online and pop into random threads praising it annoying people.

It's the vocal minority that hate it, whatever their reasons, that can't let it go perpetuating things in my opinion. How does one spend so much time talking about something they regard as rubbish? I just don't get it. Sure it is fun at first to bash, but after years of negativity you'd think they would move on with life. Or at least find a new show to hold to ridiculous standards and bash for not meeting the standards of perfection being applied. If every anime was held to the "SAO standard" almost none would be considered decent LAWL. SAO the anime is riddled with anime logic, go figure, and so are most every other anime out there.

I personally hate the characters, none have depth, Kirito is a simples hero, saves everybody, have the most powerful skills, is the most horrible protagonist of anime world. But i keep seeing that, the idea is perfect, is all with we dream and that make us keep watching...

I loved all the way up to the end. (And by the end I mean when they finally escaped from the game in episode 12 or 13.)
It was a perfect ending, but they extended it, and as it went on, it felt less and less special to me.
I really disliked the "little sister is in love with big brother" trope, it just added drama that wasn't really needed, and the new antagonist felt like he a was forced in copy of what the original antagonist was supposed to be.

I saw episode 1 of SAO II, and i really didn't feel it.
Maybe that's just me, but it no longer had that special feeling it did in the beginning.

Yeah, that was always something that bugged me.
It kind of showed me that the game SAO itself, wasn't a very good MMO if one person could almost do everything, it really defeated the purpose of an MMO.

Kirito is the John Cena of anime.
