I find it much easier to converse online, or through text/writing overall compared to speaking to people directly (I especially suck at and hate talking to people over the phone). I'm still bad at it to some extent no matter the method, as I find it difficult to recognize certain social/emotional cues, much less find the correct way to respond to them. Being able to write/type out my response gives me much more time to think it through and word things in a way that will, hopefully, make the most sense and convey the overall meaning and emotion I want to express at the time. You're sadly not afforded that privilege while speaking to people most of the time, especially if it's a phone conversation.

The only downside for written conversations is that text by itself tends to run into the issue of the tone and emotions behind what's being said ending up vague at times which can lead to mistaking a neutral comment as an antagonistic one. Misinterpreting something as being sarcastic being a prime example.

I am good at it, because it really isn't difficult.

One can become anyone they wish to be online.

However, I choose to be myself, and that distinction usually gains an edge.

I'm a great talker when I talk to myself...

IRL, I'm too shy.

In internet-land, I'm not shy enough.

And none of these are a bad thing. Except the first one.. And the second one.. And the third one..

When conversing online, you're usually within a community or website that covers a specific topic or topics.
As such, if you're knowledgeable on these topics, finding relevant material to converse about is kind of easy.

I have a hard time talking to people in person without it being a situation where the topic of conversation is
already dictated, meaning starting a conversation with someone with nothing specific in mind is difficult for me.

I don't believe myself to be shy, but I'm not good at keeping up conversation with someone unless it's about a
topic which I'm immensely informed about.

I'm bad at conversations in general.
It really depends on what topic the conversation is about, but either way it'll will end up in that awkward ending, "Uh cool" or somewhere along the lines of that with nothing to follow up.

If you can't win an argument, correct their grammar instead.

I'm okay with both online and off, but prefer one on one conversations rather than talking in a group. If we don't have much in common though, chances are the convo won't go on very long :3

I'm pretty good as long as the other person doesn't call me a faggot first.

Idk. I never really talked to anyone online that I didn't know already, so it's hard to say.

I'd probably find it harder because I have the power to think of what to say, type it, and delete if that's something I don't want to say--rather than just speaking how I normally would. If that makes sense.
