If there was ever a day I was delighted with my choice to go for the anime membership over the all-access membership, it was today.

I was impressed and quite happy when the manga became available for anime-membership subscribers. I thought that was a great move to boost the value of the membership, and it did, significantly, although hard luck for the manga subscribers. I never really cared much for the dramas but I suppose it's a nice addition as well.

And if you're in the US, I'm sure you're delighted that you're all-access membership is being upgraded. However, once again, Crunchyroll shows that it doesn't really care about it's users outside of the US. Not only do we pay just as much as you do for your membership, we get a poor, gimped version of your library. And this is from a UK perspective, I imagine it only gets worse elsewhere. Like seriously. I think, if I'm being generous, we might have maybe 1/3 the size of your library. Apparently, Crunchyroll thinks that's a great offer for users outside of the US - they get to pay the same price for a service that is far, far inferior. What a bargain. I've lost count the amount of times I've looked for a show, with the knowledge that it's on Crunchyroll, only to be redirected back to the home page because it's not available in my region. I was hoping it would get better over time, but I've been a member for a good while now and if anything, it's just gotten worse. It doesn't help that people in the US also have other services outside from Crunchyroll to stream some of these shows, but Crunchyroll is pretty much our only viable go-to service here (bar maybe one other site).

But now, if you're an All-Access member outside the US, you're well and truly treated like second-class members. Look at all the magnificent benefits Premium+ offers. But lets see, eh, you don't get the free shipping, you are not likely to be able to get the convention stuff and you don't even get to participate in the raffles at the moment. But, you do get, er, an exclusive badge. Wow. I bet you can hardly contain your excitement. And what other features do you get. Lets see, you get to use the beta tools, which are sure to be buggy and not really work considering a) it's beta testing and b) it's Crunchyroll, which commonly fails to deliver episodes on time, and a good portion of the time that it does get the episodes on time without "production issues", they come with no subs for a short period of time as well. The final thing is just poor taste, it's essentially "better customer service". That's one of the scummiest moves they could have made, they should be providing the best service they can to every paying member, not "oh, well, you're on the low-paying member list so you're going to get a second-rate service". The worst of it all is that this is one of the two features (the other being the badge) you guys can actually make use of - yes, you're paying for something that you should already be getting by default. That's one hell of a steal, I have to say. How lucky of you.

Once again, members outside of the US get screwed over, big time. I was actually considering upgrading my membership until the manga became available to anime subscribers, and I would have considered it if the options were actually of any use. Unfortunately, I don't feel like paying an extra £4+ a month for an online badge and for a level of customer service that I, as a user who has been paying for a long time now really, really would expect from Crunchyroll. Perhaps if you were to say that you would make a push to get more titles into other territories, I would consider it, because I would end up actually benefiting somewhat, but following the recent trends, I imagine it's only going to get worse and no extra push will happen. Frankly, I'm tired of this double standard. I try to support the industry legally but when there is a number of shows out every season I need to watch illegally I'm afraid there isn't much I can do. It's 2015 for crying out loud. I get that there is going to be some disparity, but the gap between the US and everyone else is stupidly large, and only growing larger every season that passes. And we're just expected to suck it up and be happy with it. And now this. While I personally benefit somewhat, I can only feel sorry for all the All-Access members outside of the US who have royally ripped-off with this. If I were them, I know the first thing that I would be doing is downgrading my membership.

I think he is referring to the fact that Premium+ doesn't really have the benefits to be worthwhile to people outside of US. Why pay twice as than you are already if you can watch all the anime/manga/drama for $6.95? All you get in this premium+ for people outside the US are slightly faster customer service, participate in contests, VIP perks at conventions which I'm sure a lot of people on crunchyroll don't even attend, a new badge and beta test features for the site. I know I made it sound like a lot but in all actuality, the value of all that is pretty low. They should already be giving the best customer service to everyone, chances of you winning the contests will still be pretty low, as I mentioned before, I bet a lot of people don't go to those conventions either due to money constraints or even time constraints, you get 1 new badge to make you feel slightly special and you get to test out products on the website that will most likely be faulty and render the product useless and unusable.

TL;DR: Premium+ isn't worth the price when you compare it to the normal premium if you live outside of US.

Exactly! If you add the fact that some of these contests are solely for US/Canada and that CR only hold conventions in a limited number of other countries outside the US, there's not many reasons left to upgrade (or keep your P+ membership) if you're not resident in the US.

Well I'm not complaining as a new premium member, since I got some nice additions. But honestly now I don't have any reason at all any more to upgrade to P+ in the future.

Well, well, well! We're getting rewarded with increased value of services but at the current price? That's pretty amazing!

Woah! Woah! Woah! I just realized something! This means I can watch "I'm Mita Your Housekeeper" without commercials! I'm on it! Oh, yeah! And I've been wanting to watch "Random Hero!" And a few others. I can really cut loose, here. Damn! I'm really seeing the possibilities! Thanks, CR!

Thanks Crunchyroll. I didn't realize the membership statuses changed. I kind of figured it out after I spent some time trying to figure out why people had crowns instead of stars.

The crowns have been around for quite a while now, and don't represent a different membership from the stars. It was mentioned at one point CR would be doing away with the stars, but that still hasn't happened, so I wonder at this point if it will.

BTW, you can now also choose from different color crowns:

Eh no biggie, could have split the difference and rolled everything into a all encompassing 10 a month fee and called it a day. Have a add-on upgrade if you want the free shipping for US based customers and no drama would have ensued.

Customer support? Should really only care if the episode is there or not, other than that what issues could/should there be?

This.. This is what I'm talking about!
We pay just as much as everyone else here in EU and we don't get all titles, I know it's because of the country restrictions, but if you do know it, please consider on lowering the price for us with a far less library than the rest of the members.
It's VERY frustrating!

They should take care of tech first ! The one website that crashes my browser at least once or twice a week . And I have been going on more off peak hours.Oh how many tickets I.ve sent in!

The Video player stiil hangs up / not as much but stiil have to refresh now and then. I like CR but not how they handle things !

And now CR wants you to pay more for faster tech support. What a joke. You pay and should get the same service for service requests!

All these gimmicks dont impress me! I want to watch anime and post on the forums.

I think marketing has lost touch with their customers!

The bottom line is I want to support anime not such graphics or convention perks etc!

Ok. I see this working two ways for premium members:

1. Access granted to a greatly diminished drama library. I'll take that.
2. Reduced customer support priority compared to before. Sneaky.
