Click to show or hide The official website for the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime revealed two new cast members and character designs on Sunday for the two new episodes in the Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan (Kishibe Rohan wa Ugokanai) original video anime (OVA) project. The new characters include Kouki Uchiyama as Yoma Hashimoto (pictured left in image below) and Hiroki Takahashi as a young man (pictured right). ![]() The two new episodes — "Zange-shitsu" (Confessional Room) and "The Run" — will play in nine screenings at six cities in Japan between December 8 (Tokyo's TFT Hall 1000) and March 29 (Omiya's Sonic City - Large Hall). Kishibe Rohan voice actor Takahiro Sakurai will appear in talk show segments at every screening. The anime studio David Production adapted two previous Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan stories as original anime DVDs. The "Fugō Mura" (Millionaire Village) episode was available for people who purchased all 13 DVD or Blu-ray Disc volumes of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable anime in 2017. The "Mutsukabezaka" (Mutsukabe Hill) episode came with the manga's second volume last year. Crunchyroll screened the overseas premiere of "Fugō Mura" at its Crunchyroll Expo event on August 30 Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan is a series of Hirohiko Araki's manga one-shots starring his JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable character Rohan Kishibe, who is also Araki's fictional alter ego. Kingdom Anime S3 Spring 2020 ![]() Kingdom Gets 3rd TV Anime Series With Brand New Staff in April / Masakazu Morita, Jun Fukuyama, Rie Kugimiya return to reprise roles ANN NEWS Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide NHK announced on Friday that Yasuhisa Hara's Kingdom manga is inspiring a third television anime series that will premiere on NHK General in April. Hara drew an illustration (seen below) to celebrate the anime's announcement. ![]() Hara will supervise the new anime, and it will have a new production staff compared to the previous series. The returning cast members include Masakazu Morita as Shin (Xin), Jun Fukuyama as Ei Sei (Yin Zheng), and Rie Kugimiya as Karyō Ten (He Liao Diao). Hara's historical manga centers around the slave boy Xin and his dream of becoming a great general for the state of Qin. Xin helps Ying Zheng, the young Qin king who shares his desire to unify China, rise to power within the state. Xin does all he can to become a superior commander of an army capable of defeating the Seven Warring States. The record-setting manga launched in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine in 2006. Shueisha published the 55th volume on August 19, and it will publish the 56th volume on November 19. Hara said he is considering writing up to 100 volumes. A television anime adaptation premiered in 2012, and a second season premiered in 2013. Funimation streamed the series in North America and released both anime on DVD in 2016. The manga inspired a live-action film adaptation by Shinsuke Satō that opened in Japan on April 19. Funimation began screening the film in theaters in the United States and Canada on August 16. The new anime celebrates the fifth anniversary of Kadokawa's Emerald magazine, where the manga is currently serialized. The magazine launched in August 2014. The magazine is based on the magazine of the same name from within the story of The World's Greatest First Love. The manga transferred to the magazine in its debut issue. The manga follows the tension between a newly recruited manga editor named by Ritsu Onodera and his tyrannical editor-in-chief Masamune Takano — who happen to share a common past. The manga debuted in Kadokawa's The Ruby magazine in 2006, and moved to Asuka Ciel in 2009, before moving to Emerald in August 2014. Kadokawa published the manga's 14th compiled book volume on May 1. Viz Media's SuBLime imprint is publishing the manga in English, and it released the 11th volume on January 8. The manga has previously inspired anime adaptations. The first and second seasons premiered in April and October 2011, respectively. Crunchroll streamed both series as they aired in Japan. The two OVAs shipped with the fifth and sixth compiled volumes of the manga. Funimation released the television anime and OVAs on DVD in March 2017. The staff also held an audition for an English-speaking role in the anime at Anime Expo in July. The anime's main staff judged the audition. Asaka will perform the anime's theme song. Asaka is also from Nagoya. Chukyo TV and CG animation studio Sublimation are producing the anime. The anime will have 12 30-minute episodes, and is planned to finish production by 2020. The anime is set in the Tōkai region, and most of the series' main staff members are based in the area. Shin'ya Sugai (Walking Meat) is directing the anime at Sublimation (Love Live! Both Sugai and Nishimura are board members of Sublimation. K&K Design is credited for character designs. The production will use both hand drawn and 3D CG animation. Sublimation established its Nagoya studio in 2017. The film was originally slated for January 10, 2020 before being delayed. The franchise's separate side-story anime, titled Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memories Doll (Violet Evergarden Gaiden: Eien to Jidō Shuki Ningyō), opened in theaters in Japan on September 6. While theaters originally planned to screen this anime for two weeks only, the anime has extended its run several times. The anime held its world premiere as planned at the AnimagiC convention in Mannheim, Germany, which ran on August 3 and 4. The AnimagiC organizers said that they went ahead with the premiere "at the express request of the studio" On July 18, Kyoto Animation's 1st Studio building suffered a fire which killed 36 people and injuring 33 others. Kyoto Animation has opened an account to accept donations. The company will give the funds to families of the deceased and injured victims of the fire, as well as for rebuilding. Kyoto Animation's television anime adaptation of author Kana Akatsuki and illustrator Akiko Takase's Violet Evergarden novels premiered on television in Japan and on Netflix in some territories in January 2018. Yuni has overwhelming talent at volleyball but is weak to pressure, but together with Kimichika they become the ace combo of their team. But the two have a fight at the final prefecture tournament in middle school. Now in high school at Seiin High School, Kimichika and Yuni have severed their relationship, but both join the volleyball club. Along with the second-year and third-year students in the club, they work to make Seiin High School's volleyball club a rising star in Fukui prefecture. Kabei launched the novel series in July 2013 with illustrations by Aiji Yamakawa (Chocolate Underground). The novel series so far has three "seasons," with two novels in the first season, two novels in the second season, and one novel in the third season. The novels will get a fourth season subtitled "next 4 years." The anime is part of a revitalization project for the Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture bath house that began on January 15. It was announced that the comedian Itsuji Itao will join the cast for the second episode. The second episode is set in the Meiji era and is scheduled for February 1, 2020. The story will follow literary figures Masaoka Shiki and Natsume Sōseki's visit to the bath house after its refurbishment. The third episode will cover the modern day and future, and is scheduled for mid-2020. The story follows those who have watched over the bath house since the age of gods traveling through time to the modern day. Nana Mizuki will reprise her role as the titular Phoenix. Itsuji Itao will play Ippen Shōnin, the preacher who founded the Ji-shū ("Time sect") branch of Pure Land Buddhism. Click to show or hide The official website for Kyoto Animation's Free! anime franchise announced on Monday that the planned summer 2020 opening date for the franchise's all-new anime film has been delayed due to "various circumstances." The announcement assured fans that the director and the rest of the staff are hard at work to make a film that will "meet the expectations" of fans. The site will announce a new release date for the film once it has been determined. The franchise's most recent entry was Free! ~Road to the World~ Yume (Dream), which opened on July 5, and was a "reconstruction" of the Free! Dive to the Future television anime series, as well as a "bridge" to the new film. Free! Dive to the Future premiered in July 2018. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, and Funimation streamed an English dub.
