Alderamin on the Sky Light Novel Series Gets Anime Adaptation ANN NEWS

"Military history fantasy" series centers on war-hating young man who eventually becomes a great commander

A stage event at the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2015 event revealed on Sunday that writer Bokuto Uno and illustrators Sanbasō and Ryūtetsu's Nejimaki Seirei Senki: Tenkyō no Alderamin (English title: Alderamin on the Sky) light novel series is getting an anime adaptation. The event revealed an anime teaser visual (pictured below).

In the "military history fantasy" series, the Katvarna Empire is at war with the neighboring Republic of Kioka. In the Katvarna Empire, the lazy, woman-admiring Ikuta hates war, but due to certain circumstances, he grudgingly takes the High Grade Military Officer Exam. No one would have expected that this 17-year-old young man would eventually become a soldier called a great commander by others. Ikuta survives this world engulfed in war with his superior intellect.

Kadokawa released the first novel in June 2012. Due to Sanbasō's poor health, Ryūtetsu took over illustrating the series with the sixth novel. Kadokawa will publish the eighth novel on October 10.

Taiki Kawakami's manga adaptation currently has two volumes in print, and the third volume will also ship on October 10.

The stage event also revealed a drama CD for the franchise. Uno is writing the drama CD's story.

Aria the Avvenire’ Anime Gets New TV Spot / UPDATED INFRO

Posted by Chris Beveridge The Fandom Post

Aria the AvvenirThe theatrical run for Aria the Avvenire is underway with the first episode out back on September 26th, 2015 in Japan. That has distributor Shochiku now streaming a new TV spot that’s been broadcast to highlight it for fans, getting us all back in the mood for the very fun and soothing series. The three part event is a good one for fans, particularly of the manga, as the first two episodes adapt stories that haven’t been animated before while the third episode is a new one.

The cast includes Erino Hazuki as Akari Mizunashi, Chiwa Saito as Aika S. Granzchesta, Ryou Hirohashi as Alice Carroll, Sayaka Ohara as Alicia Florence, Chinami Nishimura as President Aria, Junko Minagawa as Akira E. Ferrari, Kaori Mizuhashi as Ai and Tomoko Kawakami as Athena Glory (presumably via flashbacks).

Animated by TYO Animations, Junichi Sato is set to direct it and work the scripts while Masayuki Onji is set to handle the character designs.

The series has seen a solid release in anime form in North America over the years with Nozomi Entertainment bringing it out in limited edition form on DVD as well as priced-down litebox releases. The manga has seen a less than solid run between ADV Manga and TOKYOPOP over the years as it’s never been released in full.

Property concept: Akari Mizunashi, at the age of 15, has left everything behind to travel to a sparkling planet covered in water, Aqua. More than anything, Akari wants to be an “undine” – a female gondolier who navigates the canals of the Aquan city of Neo-Venezia. As she begins her training with the prestigious Aria Company, will she be up to the challenges that await her on the path to achieve her dream?

Code Geass Director Taniguchi Makes Active Raid TV Anime ANN NEWS

Shokugeki no Sōma's Saeki designs January anti-crime robot anime

The November issue of Kadokawa's Newtype magazine is revealing on Saturday that Goro Taniguchi (Planetes, Code Geass, Maria the Virgin Witch) will serve as chief director on a new original television anime titled Active Raid: Kidō Kyōshūshitsu Dai-Hakkei- (Active Raid: Mobile Assault Division, Unit 8). The anime is slated for a January 2016 premiere on Tokyo MX and other channels.

The magazine previews the anime's setting:

Set in a part of Tokyo that has descended into a quagmire, the story follows Unit 8 of the 5th Special Public Security Section's 3rd Mobile Assault Division — popularly called "The Eighth" — who don powered armor "Willware" exoskeletons to counter the rise in crime.

Noriaki Akitaya (Bakuman., Persona 3 The Movie #1 Spring of Birth, Castle Town Dandelion) is directing the anime, and Naruhisa Arakawa (MAOYU, Spice and Wolf, Outbreak Company) is writing the scripts. Artist and manga creator Shun Saeki (Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma) is drawing the original character designs, while Asako Nishida (Love Live!, Simoun, Vampire Knight) is designing the characters for animation. Kotaro Nakagawa (Planetes, Code Geass, Prison School) is composing the music.

Studio Trigger Reveals New Kiznaiver Original TV Anime ANN NEWS

Hiroshi Kobayashi makes directorial debut; Mari Okada writes scripts; Shirow Miwa designs characters

The November issue of Shufu-to-Seikatsu Sha Ltd.'s PASH! magazine is revealing Studio Trigger's new original TV anime project titled Kiznaiver on Saturday.

Hiroshi Kobayashi (Rage of Bahamut Genesis assistant director, Kill la Kill episode director) will make his directorial debut with the anime at Studio Trigger, and Mari Okada (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, anohana, The Anthem of the Heart) is writing the script. Shirow Miwa (Dogs: Bullets & Carnage, supercell illustrator) is drawing the original character designs, while Mai Yoneyama (Japan Animator Expo "Hill Climb Girl," Kill la Kill animation director) is adapting those character designs for animation.

The anime's setting is a fictional Japanese city named Sugomori City. One day, Sonosaki tells her classmate Katsuhira: "You have been selected to be a Kiznaiver." The Kizuna System, which allows Katsuhira to share his wounds, connects him to the classmates whose lives and personalities completely differ from his.

The Kizuna System is an incomplete system for the implementation of world peace that connects people through wounds. All those who are connected to this system are called Kiznaivers. When one Kiznaiver is wounded, the system divides and transmits the wound among the other Kiznaivers.

Sugomori City is built on reclaimed land. But as the years go by, the city's population is decreasing. The story is set in this town where Katsuhira and the others live.

In an interview in the magazine, scriptwriter Okada stated that the keyword for the series is "kizuna" (connection). The title itself is a play on "kizuna" and "naive." Okada noted that she wrote the title before the story outline.

The anime's characters include:

Noriko Sonosaki: A mysterious and beautiful girl who experienced kizuna (connection) with Katsuhira and the others, and assigns them missions. She is even more emotionless than Katsuhira, and feels no human kindness.

Katsuhira Akata: The story's protagonist. His sense of pain and his own feelings are dulled. His moods barely fluctuate, and he pays little attention to other people.

Hajime Tenga: A muscular idiot who tends not to look before he leaps. While he presents a rude front, he possesses the potential for leadership.

Tsuguto Yoshida: A handsome and self-satisfied honor student who is always surrounded by girls. He is a selfish and calculating man with an underhanded nature, and is cold to other men.

Honoka Maki: A girl who exudes a calm, grown-up air, and who tends not to group with people. She tends to say mean things, glare menacingly, and is generally unsociable.

Chidori Takashiro: Katsuhira's friend, and the class representative-type who always sees to everyone's needs (or is nosy, if viewed negatively). Does she hold complex feelings for Katsuhira?

Niko Niiyama: A mysterious yet spontaneous girl who says she can see fairies. Her personality is clear not just in her attitude but also in her fashion.

Yoshiharu Hisomu: A handsome man with a distinct face that anyone can recognize, but he is surrounded by many mysteries. His multiple piercings and his bandaged look are extremely distinctive.

Pierre Sugiura (Yuyushiki, Barakamon) and Masao Iketani are in writing the scripts, and Hiroyuki Saida (My mental choices are completely interfering with my school romantic comedy) is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director.

Yoshimoto launched the series in Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Flapper magazine in its May 2013 issue, and then Kadokawa added it to its ComicWalker web comic service in March 2014. Kadokawa will release the manga's fifth compiled volume on October 23.

Hiromu Arakawa's manga of Yoshiki Tanaka's historical novels inspired 2015 TV anime

The Heroic Legend of Arslan event "Yashasiin! Carnival" announced on Sunday that a new television anime will premiere in 2016.

More details will be made public on the official website and other venues in the future.

The first television anime of the manga premiered on April 5 and ran for 25 episodes. Funimation streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, and it describes the story:

Narrowly escaping with his life, Arslan must embark on a journey to reclaim the fallen kingdom and fulfill his destiny as ruler of Pars.

A limited edition version of the fifth manga volume will bundle a DVD in May with "another comedy story" that takes place in the middle of the war. In the story, Gieve gives Arslan a love lesson, and the romances of Daryun, Narsus, and "that hero" are also revealed.

The manga also inspired the Arslan: The Warriors of Legend video game that shipped in Japan on October 1 and will ship in the West in early 2016.

Kono Danshi 5 (Mahou ga Oshigoto desu) / KonoDan series Getting Anime TV Series

Posted by Chris Beveridge The Fandom Post

Fans of the KonoDan series of works have a lot to be excited about now as the fifth installment is getting the green light as a TV series adaptation with Kono Danshi, Mahou ga Oshigoto desu. The title itself may not be familiar, but the first two works have been licensed and released in North America already. Released by Sentai Filmworks, we’ve seen This Boy Can Fight Aliens and This Boy Caught A Merman previously.

Details on the fifth installment, where each one focuses on different characters, are pretty much nil at this point. The third and fourth iterations of the series, were done as a CD and an OVA respectively with Kono Danshi, Akunin to Yobaremasu and This Boy Suffers From Crystallization.

Soubi Yamamoto will be returning from the work she did on the OVAs to work on this TV series as well. Yamamoto’s previous TV work was the Meganebu! series, which also was picked up and licensed by Sentai Filmworks.
