‘A Chivalry of a Failed Knight’ Anime Gets Premiere Season Posted by Chris Beveridge / The Fandom Post

A Chivalry of the Failed KnightIt’s been a bit since we last got to talk about the anime adaptation of A Chivalry of the Failed Knight but now a little bit more is known about the project. The official site for the series has revealed its premiere season with it being set for October 2015, adding to an increasingly interesting fall season for fans. The timing of this is pretty smart too as it looks like the eighth volume of the light novel series will be arriving that month as well. The anime adaptation is being directed by Shin Oonum while Jin Tamamura is serving as the overall director. They’re working off of the scripts by Shogo Yasukawa and character designs by Sei Komatsubara. The series is being animated at SILVER LINK and Nexus.

The cast has also been revealed with Ryota Ohsaka as Ikki Kurogane, Shizuka Ishigami as Stella Vermillion, Nao Toyama as Shizuku Kurogane and Shintaro Asanuma as Nagi Arisuin.

The title is originally known as Rakudai Kishi no Cavalary and it began back in 2013 with artwork by artist Won. Seven volumes have been released as of this spring for the light novel series while a manga adaptation began in March 2014 from Megumu Soramichi.

Plot concept: The series revolves around Mage-Knights, humans with supernatural powers who can materialize a weapon from their souls. Ikki Kurogane, dubbed as the “Failure Knight” for having no talent in modern-day magic, is a repeating student in an institution for Mage-Knights because of his failing grades. With the installation of a new head of the institution, a new rule was stated: knights with compatible abilities must share rooms and train together for the whole school year to maximize their abilities.

One day, Ikki encounters a half-naked girl, Stella Vermillion, who was changing in his room. It turns out that she is a princess of a foreign country and a Rank A Mage-Knight to boot. Stella challenged Ikki to a duel where the loser must be obedient to the winner. This fateful meeting changes Ikki’s life as he strives to become a real Mage-Knight.

Company headed by original creator Hiroshi Negishi is in charge of new project

The official website of the company Animation Innovation Content (AIC) Project revealed on Tuesday that the company has licensed the rights to the Saber Marionette work by Hiroshi Negishi and Satoru Akahori, and that a Saber "re:anime project" is launching. The format of the project has not yet been announced.

The last project in the Saber Marionette action comedy franchise, Saber Marionette J to X, was a 26-episode television anime series released in 1998. The main Saber Marionette J series is set in a world with no women, only female androids that can perform limited human interaction, called Marionettes. One day, a boy named Otaru Mamiya discovers a "Saber" model Marionette called Lime, equipped with a special chip that grants her emotions.

New film opening on December 23 to commemorate 25th anniversary of TV anime series

Momoko Sakura's Chibi Maruko-chan manga and anime franchise is getting its first new anime film in 23 years. The Eiga Chibi Maruko-chan film will open on December 23. The film will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the television anime's broadcast.

Sakura herself is in charge of the film's script. In the story, Maruko is courted by Italian man, and she also travels to Tokyo and Osaka. Jun Takagi (Chibi Maruko-chan television anime, Legend of the Condor Hero), will direct the film at Nippon Animation, and Fuji Television is producing the film. TOHO will distribute the film.

The previous film in the franchise, Chibi Maruko-chan: Watashi no Suki na Uta (Chibi Maruko-chan: My Favorite Song) opened in Japan in December 1992.

Sakura serialized the original manga in Ribon from 1986 to 1996. She launched a four-panel version in a Japanese newspaper in 2007, and she ended that version in 2011.

The original manga inspired the Chibi Maruko-chan television anime that is consistently the #2 rated anime series after Sazae-san. The first anime series ran from 1990 to 1992, and the ongoing second series premiered in 1995. The 1,000th television anime episode aired in 2012.

The manga has also inspired several live-action specials and television series.

The File of Young Kindaichi Returns Season 2 Manga Gets 2nd Anime Adaptation in October ANN NEWS

Manga also goes on 8-issue hiatus, returns in September
This year's 33rd issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine will announce on Wednesday that Seimaru Amagi and Fumiya Sato's Kindaichi Shōnen no Jikenbo R (The File of Young Kindaichi Returns) manga will get a second anime adaptation that will premiere in Japan in October. The magazine will reveal more information about the anime adaptation in future issues.

The magazine will also announce that the 26-episode Blu-ray/DVD box set of the 2014 TV anime adaptation of the manga is slated for release on August 26.

The manga will also go on hiatus in the following issue. The series will resume with a new arc in the magazine's 42nd issue on September 16. The creators will be conducting research during the hiatus.

The manga launched as a continuation of the original Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo (Kindaichi Case Files) manga in 2013. Kodansha published the fifth compiled book volume of Kindaichi Shōnen no Jikenbo R on April 17, and will publish the sixth volume on Friday.

The File of Young Kindaichi Returns anime series ended with the final episode airing last September on NTV. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.

The original Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo manga inspired a television anime in 1997 as well as several movies and television specials. The manga also led to several live-action adaptations, including a 2014 special set in Malaysia with Ryosuke Yamada of the boy band Hey! Say! JUMP. KinKi Kids group member Tsuyoshi Dōmoto, Arashi member Jun Matsumoto, and KAT-TUN member Kazuya Kamenashi also played the title role.

The original manga inspired a web anime from FROGMAN (Eagle Talon, Thermae Romae) in January 2014. Tokyopop published the manga's original first 18 volumes in North America.

Strike Tanaka's Servamp Manga Gets Anime Adaptation ANN News

Seven Seas publishes series about high school boy, feline servant vampire in N. America

The cover of the August issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Gene magazine is revealing on Wednesday that Strike Tanaka's Servamp manga is getting an anime adaptation.

Seven Seas is releasing the manga in North America, and it published the second compiled book volume in June. The company describes the story:

When a stray black cat named Kuro crosses Mahiru Shirota's path, the high school freshman's life will never be the same again. Kuro is, in fact, no ordinary feline, but a servamp: a servant vampire. While Mahiru's personal philosophy is one of non-intervention, he soon becomes embroiled in an ancient, altogether surreal conflict between vampires and humans.
Tanaka launched the series in Monthly Comic Gene in 2011. Kadokawa published the seventh compiled volume in Japan in December, and it will ship the eighth compiled volume on July 27.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans Visuals, Staff, October 4 Premiere Announced ANN NEWS

Toradora!, anohana director, scriptwriter working on new Gundam series

Sunrise announced details of the new Gundam series, titled
Mobile Suit Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans), in a livestreamed event on Wednesday.

The show is set 300 years after a great conflict between Earth and Mars known as the "Calamity War." A woman named Cordelia sets out on a journey to Earth to speak for the independence of the Martian city of Chryse, which is under the control of the Earth government. Escorting her is the private security company CGS, which protagonists Mikazuki Augus and Orga Itsuka are members of. When a group named Gjallarhorn attacks CGS and Cordelia, Orga sees this as a chance to rebel against CGS and launch a coup. Mikazuki and Orga are thrust into a new conflict. To fend off Gjallarhorn, Mikazuki rides an old mobile suit from the Calamity War, powered by a nuclear reactor, the Gundam Barbatos.

The Barbatos is described as a mobile suit that steals weapons, armor, and parts from enemies to become stronger.

Tatsuyuki Nagai is helming the show in Sunrise, with Mari Okada handling series composition. Yu Ito (Shut Hell, Imperial Guards) drew the original character designs, while Michinori Chiba designed the characters for animation (Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Mobile Suit Gundam AGE). Naohiro Washio, Kanetake Ebikawa, Ippei Gyōbu, Kenji Teraoka, and Tamotsu Shinohara are designing the mechas for the show. Kusanagi is in charge of art design, and Masaru Yokoyama is composing the music.

Nagai and Okada have worked together previously on the Toradora! and anohana (Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai.) TV anime series, as well as the anohana film, and the upcoming The Anthem of the Heart anime film.

The show will premiere on October 4 in 28 channels in Japan, and will also be streamed online. The official website will provide more details on the broadcast and streaming schedule of the show in the future.

Sunrise first began teasing the series in the teaser website for the series on July 4, and gradually revealed the new Gundam Barbatos until Wednesday.

The website announced on Thursday that EGOIST (Psycho-Pass) will perform theme songs for all three Project Itoh films. Genocidal Organ's cast and theme song "Reloaded" will debut on July 24 and Harmony's cast and theme song "Ghost of a smile" will debut on July 31.

Finally, the website announced the premiere dates for all three films. The Empire of Corpses was originally slated for October, but is now slated to open in theaters in Japan on October 2. Genocidal Organ was slated for October but is now slated for November 13. Harmony was slated for November, but is now slated for December 4.

The story of The Empire of Corpses takes place in 19th century Europe, and revolves around John Watson. He is scouted by the government to become a secret agent- However, Watson lives in a world where "Frankensteins"- human corpses that are re-purposed with a false soul in order to use them as laborers- are used to improve industrial development.

Each novel film adaptation will be from a different director and studio. Shukou Murase (Witch Hunter Robin, Gangsta., Ergo Proxy) will direct Genocidal Organ at manglobe (The Unlimited - Hyōbu Kyōsuke, House of Five Leaves), Takashi Nakamura (Fantastic Children) and Michael Arias (Tekkonkinkreet) will direct Harmony at Studio 4°C (Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I - The Egg of the King, Tweeny Witches), while Ryoutarou Makihara will direct The Empire of Corpses at WIT STUDIO (Attack on Titan, Hōzuki no Reitetsu).

Project Itoh released Genocidal Organ as his debut novel in 2007, and his final novel, Harmony, debuted in Japan in 2008. Project Itoh wrote Harmony and the novel adaptation of Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriots while he was being treated for the cancer that ultimately took his life in 2009. The Japanese film website Cinema Today reported in 2012 that film adaptation rights were being pitched in Hollywood.

Viz Media's Haikasoru imprint has published three of Itoh's full-length novels in English, excluding The Empire of Corpses.
