I caught up with the slime anime, I dunno everything in it just felt so uneventful. These isekai shows are starting to all blur into one for me, regardless the gimmick.

The isekai quartet ones are probably the best of the lot.

Blade Runner 2049 is also a long movie.

I probably shouldn't have put both of these off to the last night before they were due...

Edit:

Seven Samurai was hella long (3.5 hours), and the remake is probably more conventionally entertaining. I do like knocking off Akira Kurosawa movies though just to satisfy my curiosity given his renown with filmmakers.

Blade Runner 2049 I didn't have time to finish so I haven't seen the last 40 minutes yet. But I have two three gripes. The first is the world feels like a backdrop rather than interactive with the characters. The second is they must've wanted to show how "isolated" people are in this cyberpunk society, but instead all they did was have people acting normally but never interacting with anyone who wasn't also another main character. So it was like a play with like only 8 people.

And third boy does the characterization lack finesse. Everybody's character is worn right on their sleeve, in two hours we've only seen the villain once and he spent the entire scene monologuing about his scheme while engaged in an activity which could only be described as "Look! He bad!" and his personal assistant plot device is downright petty. All the ideas behind the characters is perfectly good but the deep weave ain't there. I hope the ending's good at least.

But right now I'm just thinking "That was done better in Armitage III, that was done better in Parasite Dolls, and that was done better in... oh yeah Blade Runner." It's not bad it's just like... not great. Lacks layers and an interactive world.

I've been bingeing entirely too much just the right amount of Black Magic Craft and after some experimenting I spent the evening roughing out and assembling the base structure for my first project. Now I'm staring at it and I definitely do not want to calculate how many 1/4" by 3/4" styrofoam bricks I will have to cut out to clad a 20" tall tower. XD

You can just etch a brick pattern into the styrofoam but I had to awkwardly cut a bunch of 45° angles since I don't have a hot wire table, so my seams don't match up good enough to do that. Plus this just feels more epic anyway, excited to get to it tomorrow. Can binge WoW Classic beta streamers while I cut out a bajillionty bricks.

Why does Youtube let you scroll down when you've selected full screen...

And why does an invisible cursor keep escaping Skyrim and scrolling down things on my other monitor...

It's been like that for a while. Weird feature, but I don't mind. Not like I would scroll by accident when I've got full screen.

Tower update, I'm part way up the third of five tiers. It's actually taking a lot less brick cutting than I expected.

Just slow figuring out how to do everything.

Well I went full Saitama. I abandoned the rest of my hair, I look a lot younger fully bald so I’m happy with it. The way I was balding made me look like 15 years older. The only thing is I have to wear a hat on chilly days because I really feel the cold in my head now.

Tomorrow I add crenelations and some timber framing then I can mod podge this sucker.

Edit: Woot done. Let that dry overnight and touch it up in the morning. Or like, in a few hours since it's still early.

Edit: Long Yin Monster had a fanservicey cover but really it's just absurdly adorable. Great find.
