Somebody finally kidnapped Stephen to go play D&D!

Edit: It's a solo adventure for a charity event; it's great seeing Stephen so happy to play again.

It's also the name of a manga. It's very good

Oh I haven't, I'll check it out.

Edit: Hefty chapters but I agree this does look very good. It makes me think if Holyland was about getting into art school, which is weird, but I think it has to do with the tone of the characters and some of the way they're drawn.

Started getting into Sakura Wars. The anime is so so, but the game is really good from what I’ve seen. I think what I like the best about it is that the main character is a soldier lol. It’s a harem with a main character who isn’t some recycled Japanese every teen. The 90s were truly a special time .

The OVAs are so gosh darned gorgeous. Think I've only seen half of them though, the story didn't really pull you along. Even though there was a plot the OVAs almost felt SoL, not even sure if they're the same story content as the games. But production values were like the Patlabor OVAs crossed with Gundam Wing, looked very sharp.

As far as I can tell the main character is kind of unimportant in the ovas even though he drives the story in the games. If anything Sakura is the actual main character of the ovas. They also removed any signs of romance whatsoever as far in as I am. It’s sort of weird but it’s essentially a harem where the main character exists but no one cares that he exists, the story kind of ignores him.

You've been playing Skyrim too long when you're doing something IRL and think "It's ok if this doesn't work I'll just reload a quicksave."

Edit:

Started a second project, this one will involve shingles and a chimney. I've made a lot of measuring mistakes with this one though so it's going to look really hacked up fixing them all until the outer layer is added/finished.

Edit:

New Bloom Into You chapter.

Edit:

Back cramp.

Colbert, being the Hobbit fanboy he is, would probably be fun to tabletop with. But Noah? I'd rather sling myself in the rack and take a dozen twists. Even his standup is, context for the events given, pretty cringe. Rather play with Jon Stewart.

I can't imagine Stewart not being incredibly snarky about the entire experience if it's on camera, however he'd probably be psychologically compelled to deliver all the snark through his character's behavior and it'd be really funny. Seth Meyers is the host I get the least(*) despite his evident sincerity, but he'd also probably be the most fun to tabletop with.

Conan would probably be the most cringey but might be worth it as a dynamic if he came with Jordan Schlansky.

(*)I'm not sure about either of the Jimmys since I haven't really watched their stuff at all.

Also now I'm just imagining a setup where there's a team of comedy hosts as heroes and another as villains with Bill Maher obviously being an old bony lich, who's like "This is stupid, why am I here" and Conan across the table RP'ing a JRPG protagonist is like "You know what's really stupid YOU'RE MADE OF BONES!" and Maher would hold up his mini and say "No I'm not I'm made of plastic" after a deadeyed stare into camera then Conan would grab the mini snap it in half and go "AHA I'VE DESTROYED THE VILE LICH'S PHYLACTERY HE HAS TO GO SIT IN THE CORNER NOW AND WRITE AN APOLOGY FOR ALL THE INNOCENT ORPHANS HE'S EATEN!" and Maher would be like "Ah finally the sweet release of death" and Stewart would just be folding paper footballs and flicking them at Schlansky.

Conan would also definitely say "I TURN UNDEAD!" (without having the ability) and then either pretend to be a zombie at the table for the rest of the game or turn so he's sitting at a 90 degree angle from Maher at all times. He'd also try and either kill or pick up all the quest givers and basically be in constant trouble with the city guards everywhere they went.

Edit: Or he'd demand that now Maher has to play with his back to the table lol.

I think my theater is dropping John Wick when it's only been two weeks. They don't have any listed showings after today.

What the heck man, I wanted to do a double feature tomorrow with Godzilla and I'm 99% sure I'm not going out today.

Edit:

Nevermind, showtimes are up now. Why they weren't up a single day in advance who knows.

Edit:

And I slept through the afternoon anyway. Maybe tomorrow.

Wow. This thread got buried with all that spam bumping older threads.

I like how random people on the internet can make a better Sonic than Paramount.

Godzilla

I was disappointed but not in a way that might apply to other people generally.

The showtimes didn't line up so I didn't see John Wick after.

Edit: Missed an after credits scene. Don't care though. Should've left earlier when I felt like it anyway.

Edit: Honestly I'm more fine with the idea of Pattinson Batman than Affleck Batman.

I am twenty-three years old. Yet, I still am not older than anyone here yet, for some odd reason.

Time waits for no man to get older.

As eager as one wishes to catch up to a situation, it's a welcome discomfort knowing that progress keeps going along without concern, and one not so welcome knowing the entropy of the world around you is beyond union.

And happy birthday, PeripheralVisionary.

I hate biding time, I have less than three years left if I want my goal to stay on track. Being unable to do anything to significantly advance towards that goal with the utmost certainty is disheartening. Depressing, isn't it?

Yet, in many ways, I realize the folly of my thinking. Morality is really just a selfish construct, isn't it? To not steal, threaten, or murder out of this pitiful phobia of own mortal darkness. Yet, it is completely self-absorbed to focus solely on our internal goodness than our external effectiveness, especially when our personal goals conflict with those deontological principles. If those rules only serve to oppose our means to fruition, then what functional use are those rules? To further the happiness of ourselves and our loved ones?

Better to be free of the rules that hold you back for the meaningful causes that one holds dear. No miracle is without sacrifice, no saint is born without sin. If someone gets in the way, do what you must to continue pursuing that goal, at any cost. After all, for your loved ones, the lives of strangers and the continuance of nations are as fundamentally inconsequential as the notion of our social reputation and our supposedly immortal souls.

Before anyone asks, yes, I should be willing to kill people, yes I am proud of that fact, and no I have not been in that situation where I needed to. I have some standards, for crying out loud.
