It was a domestic abuse allegation a couple years ago I think, basically ended on the same moral.

Dr. Stone is a cool anime and I'm enjoying watching it, but honestly its premise is pretty horrifying. Petrification generally has the blow softened a bit by leaving the victim unconscious until they're restored, but in this case everyone's still aware while being frozen in place. Assuming our heroes manage to succeed and restore the world's population to their previous state there's going to be a huge spike in demand for mental health services.

I don't think everyone is conscious. Just the people who have a strong enough will to keep their minds active like Senku and Taiju. It would still be hell for any normal person going through that, though. It would be like a lucid dream that never ends and you can't do anything about it. I think death would be a mercy by that point.

But hey, anime logic makes it a lot more bearable for the characters! We're here for some cheesy science and the rebuilding of civilization, not some depressing existential crisis!

Yeah, that seems to be the general feeling. It's not surprising most people don't have a strong interest in the subject considering Jared's following is comparatively small when put up against much bigger fish like Jacksepticeye and Markiplier, but even if people aren't interested in his show or his personal life I think we can all at least take a lesson from this mess. It's crucial to try to gather all the necessary facts before judging a situation, and when one party remains silent during a complex matter with serious potential legal ramifications that silence could indicate ongoing consultations with counsel rather than a tacit admission of guilt.

I think part of the problem is that nowadays, everyone is just looking for things to complain about so they jump to conclusions and complain without bothering to check the facts or wait for the full picture to be revealed. For some of those people, the truth matters very little to them.

Kind of like the Johnny Depp thing.

I'm not actually familiar with that one.

Johnny Depp's ex-wife claims she was constantly abused by him. She showed up to court with bruises trying to get a restraining order and wrote an article talking about how she's a survivor of abuse. A few months ago, Depp sued his ex for defamation, saying that hes doing so because he has finally obtained dozens of witness testimony, photos, and video evidence proving her stories were fabricated, including videos from the police station showing her bruises kept changing on different days. He alleges that she painted those bruises and even takes it further by claiming that she was the abusive one who would attack him and had a history of abusing other people. As far as I'm aware, the lawsuit is still ongoing.

Keishichou Tokumubu Tokushu Kyouakuhan Taisakushitsu Dainanaka: Tokunana

... is an anime coming out next season.

Edit: Ikusa x Koi is getting an anime, that could be the next big ecchi if it's made well. Probably not though.

That's quite a name...

And not exactly a good time for a cop show to come out when a new season of Psycho-Pass is airing at the same time, though it's possible this season will be underwhelming just like season 2. That reminds me, it's only a month away and there's still no information about season 3, not even an exact date. That's so weird.

I hope it's good, love the manga. The mangaka draws some amazingly squishy thicc girls.

Hoods seems to be hit or miss... They've done some good stuff, but then they also did Marchen Maedchan... So yeah, they got the swing of a wrecking ball there

Welp, off to Japan in the morning... Hopefully can still access CR over there easy enough even if I can't stream stuff. If not, see y'all in 9 months!

There's also Babylon (not the Fate one), Kabukichou Sherlock, and Stand My Heroes: Piece of Truth.

Much detectiving inc for some reason this season.

I really only liked season 1 of Psychopass, I didn’t even like the movie that much.

I did like where Akane was at in the movie as a person, and her going toe to toe with Kogami in hand to hand combat was great, but I don't get the world building they're going for. There's a whole new trilogy of movies though that I haven't seen yet, think they were in theaters back in February but I haven't heard anything about them since then.

From what I've seen of the manga it's one of the best ever. Have a pleasant flight jcal.

Said no pressure, meant no pressure. If you don't care, that's okay by me. Good to see you again, xxJing. Missed you, buddy. Any JRPGs you recommend as absolute must-haves? I'm in the market to buy.

I just beat Dragon Quest 7 for 3DS.

It was a pretty good game, it's one I recommend not playing through all at once though. It's extremely long, but it's sort of episodic.

You go back into the past to solve these problems these individual countries are facing. There are 19 of these countries, past and future that you have to deal with. Then after that, there is a shit load more quests that revisit each of the countries but with new dungeons unlocked.

I like to talk to all the NPCs and enjoy the dialogue, and the entire thing took me about 140 hours. And I haven't even done all of the bonus content nor did I max out my characters or anything like that. It's an extremely long game. I kind of regret tackling it like I did. To put it into perspective, I normally finish JRPGs in about 40 to 50 hours.

All in all if you are looking to get into Dragon Quest, I'd honestly recommend them in this order

1. DQ 11
2. DQ 8
3. DQ 5
4. DQ 4
5. DQ 6
6. DQ 7
7. DQ 9
8. DQ 3
9. DQ 2
10. DQ1

DQ 3 is legendary in Japan, but it is very dated. As are 2 and 1. I've been slowly playing through 1 and it really is just grinding for xp and money so you can go to the next town to buy equipment just so you can grind more. There isn't really any side quests or anything like that.

DQ 4 5 and 6 are in a loosely connected series. I believe the order is 6 -> 4 -> 5 however, it doesn't matter what order you play them in. It's like easter eggs only. For instance, you meet the mother of DQ4's protagonist (who is an angel) in DQ6 which takes place a few hundred years before DQ4 in another world. Then DQ5 takes place a few hundred years later in yet another world. They all share the same 'heaven' essentially though. That said, DQ5 is by far the best of the trilogy and it's the only one I'd say is a must play.

DQ 9 has some good gameplay, but it's story is the weakest of the non-dated games.

DQ 11 is the newest and shiniest, but it also has possibly the best characters and best story. DQ8 and DQ5 are comparable, but they aren't as shiny, both are awesome though.

Anime chat?

I find Fruits Basket to be the best anime of the year so far. Natsume Yuujinchou remains best anime of all time. <3
