I haven't seen Fruits Basket but I'm still happy it got the Brotherhood treatment.

You should definitely watch if you're interested! It's sooooo good!

My other picks for great anime this year are definitely My Roommate is a Cat and Given.

The introduction of those 2 characters is a pretty rough point. Spider arc returns the series to better times.

7:15 dentist appointments should be illegal.

He's a good antidepressant. It's too bad the manga fell apart but I'm down to see the rest of the Central arc animated.

I think you're mixing up Fruits Basket with Food Wars.

The raw Sinners of the System Psycho-Pass movies are out on the dark side.

There's a month until S3 starts on Oct. 24th, props to anyone who gets good subs out before then.

Edit: The first is also just 60 minutes, so I assume they're just 3 hours in totality.

I decided to watch Granbelm and Astra Lost in Space this week. Granbelm was... a thing. It was good, but kinda underwhelming at times. Feels like the twists were meant to have more of a punch. A lot of the magic was so vague that every time something new came up, I was just thinking "is she going to explain how this works? Oh it just works that way because she says so. Alright that's fine." The fights were cool though. It's hard to come by 2D mechs these days. It was a fun series. I just feel like it could've been much more exciting than it ended up being. I mean magical girls fighting for a Holy Grail while piloting SD Gundams sounds like one hell of a concept.

I put off watching Astra Lost in Space at first since I kept hearing about how it just throws away its interesting premise to become a generic comedy. After watching it, I have no idea why so many people think there's such a massive tone shift. I thought it did a nice job keeping things lighthearted while also giving each character serious issues to help them develop. There were a couple scenes where I had to suspend my disbelief for certain things to work, but overall the main mystery was handled well with enough clues given throughout the series for it to make sense. I also like how Lerche tried to fit as much material as they could with 2 double length episodes and cutting the OP and ED frequently.

That laugh though...

Grandelm didn't amount to as much as I'd hoped but I assume it's a positive step for the people's careers involved. The creativity and competency is there, the reach of the writing just hasn't fully grown yet. And there were some great fights (with really fantastic sound design) without any 3D mechs. My net take is a positive little above average.

It's also lining up to be the only show I finish this season, lol. I lost track of everything else a long time ago.

Edit: From Reddit, apparently there are quite a few specific Gundam homages.

I would've liked to see some Sakugabooru write-ups on Granbelm but they had other stuff on their plate I guess.
