I finally watched through Date A Live s3. It was entertaining, I really like Natsumi, I think she was a great addition to the cast.

Origami though is probably the most conflicting character for me. I think she’s really cute, like as far as romantic scenes go she’s probably the cutest for me, especially the emotional long haired version of her. That said, her rageaholic mode is unforgivable. She like puts her rage, anger, and hate before everything and just fucks everything up.

Kurumi is definitely my best girl though, she’s like Origami done right. She has her ambitions and hate, but that doesn’t stop her from listening to reason. Then in the OVA when Shido actually managed to go on a date with the Kurumi who genuinely was in love with him, god she was cute beyond belief. It seems that a girl being evil isn’t a turnoff for me, what is, is when the girl is just highly irrational and impulsive. Which Kurumi is not.

I definitely would like more. It’s probably one of the harems where I genuinely like every girl for some reason. Tohka is probably the only one I don’t feel much for, not that she is a bad character mind you, it’s just that she’s like a puppy. She has the mentality of not even a child, she is literally a tail wagging dog that can talk, and I just can’t do that.

Kurumi is getting a full spinoff isn't she? I remember reading something about a Date A Bullet adaptation.

Doesn't look like there's a lot of details out about it yet though.

Yeah. Date A Bullet is getting an anime. Can't wait for more Kurumi!

I wonder how different it will be from the main series, I've tried to get into DAL before but haven't gotten very far.

I'll check it out when it airs.

The third Sinners of the System movie is good.

Which is weird since it's about Kogami in Tibet (I think?) so there's practically no sci-fi.

All three movies will most likely have a lot of relevant information for the series once translated, and the first two also have sympathetic characters that can inspire interest, but at least to me the third was a sizeable step up.

Also the production quality for all three has been quite good, for example there's a wounded character speaking from a bed and their chest expands in time with their speech in a way that makes it clear it hurts to talk or breath in.

Plus all the normal action-y stuff.

I wonder if it's the same writer as season 2. I know Gen Urobuchi wasn't involved in this.

He's not credited for the movies but he is credited for series composition on S3. Which, I'm not thrilled about, after he both ruined Psycho-Pass and GitS:ARISE then went home beat his wife and went to prison, but we'll see I guess.

(He was released after a couple days and she didn't press charges, hope she's doing ok though.)

The movies don't have story composition credits listed on ANN (the director has a story concept credit), but of the two script writers one is new and the other has worked on everything since S1. And they both have script credits for S3.

The director has also been on everything since S1 I think.

Well that took an unexpected turn...

Hopefully they do a better job in season 3, though I'm worried seeing how Akane is absent from the PV and key visual.

That jumped out at me too. And there wasn't any explanation for her being absent that I saw in the movies.

(If it was in conversation though it'll have to wait for subs.)

I'm hoping it means she's pulled a Kogami where she's out of the story a while but it's because they're developing something else down the road with her that will tie in later, and are barrelling forward otherwise with an expanded cast. She wasn't the only one missing either unless some of the others got written out before and I just forgot about it.

Dunno though.

Edit:

Also the last chapter of Bloom Into You is out. I'll save it for tomorrow though, more motivation to get up in the morning.

When you start a new manga and are sure you've seen the artist do hentai but they are listed as separate artists on mangaupdates but you are still suspicious.

Edit: Good lord I've only finished 6 shows this year.

I've finished 4 so far . There are a few summer anime left I haven't finished yet and 12 or 13 more from winter and spring I want to watch but that probably won't happen this year.

Boogiepop and Kaguya-sama will put me at 8. But while there were a bunch of good shows so far this year I haven't seen I really don't feel like watching them, either. From a distance I'm sure they're good but I'm just not feeling a hook.
