I feel like guys could just as easily say "Real girls suck compared to anime girls" although there are many, many, many awful anime girls that even though we may waifu we know even in universe they're just awful. That said, there are still many hyper idealised anime girls whose flaws somehow also end up being an endearing trait. Whereas irl everyone comes with some baggage that we'd rather not have to deal with, but it's all just a part of working at a relationship.

It's never a good idea to take relationship tips from fiction, animated or otherwise, because the rules and logic usually tend to work differently. Basically, people won't react the same way they do in a fictional world. Or rather, you can't expect people to act the same way fictional characters do, in a fictional world, separated from our rules and logic.

Take a violent tsundere, for example. Yeah, she may have cute moments where she has difficulty expressing her feelings, and to some that may be an endearing trait, but once that becomes violent, in the real world that's just straight up abuse. No sane guy is going to fall for a girl who repeatedly attacks him. And I don't think I even need to get started on yanderes.

Yeah... basically, I sure as hell hope there aren't a bunch of people sincerely basing their ideal partners on fiction... Then again, I distinctly and sickeningly remember people saying crap like #RelationshipGoals about Harley Quinn and The Joker when Suicide Squad came out...

Well my point was primarily that wanting an Usui as a boyfriend surpasses idealistic and actually lunges into irrational territory since that would be like wanting not only the perfect guy, but the perfect guy who is willing to sacrifice his own well being on the off chance that you reciprocate his feelings even though you are sending him messages which suggest the contrary.

If it Was just “I want a rich good looking partner with a nice personality “ , well that’s what we all want. However I don’t think any girl who would want someone to subject himself to what Usui is actually doing is worth the effort.

As far as waifus go, I never understood the tsundere craze. It feels almost like an odd fetish honestly. But at the very least it’s one that is self detrimental and doesn’t require your partner to go to ridiculous lengths to accommodate you.

As much as I hate Masamune's Revenge, the first scene is a stark and acute observation of real life; as Masamune walks past the Tennis Club practices, he notes that another student is accused of gazing at the female players with lewd intent, whereas Masamune, being the complete stud that he is, is flirted with instead.

Good looking people in general are treated vastly better than those who aren't found as attractive. Not only that, but they are perceived better for the same actions, and assumed to be better people.

I’m contemplating making my first and probably only anime review / inspection video. Whenever people talk about .hack//sign they are always bored with it or disappointed. I won’t even say they are wrong in feeling that, but .hack//sign has an important charm though it would probably be lost on a lot of people today. .hack//sign quite accurately emulates what it was like playing an mmorpg back in the late 90s and early 2000s.

MMOs have become a lot more game oriented and task driven. They have a lot more linear progression and act quite a bit more like amusement parks today than virtual worlds. However back during the days of Ultima Online and EverQuest , they were really just about escaping from your boring daily life, logging into a fantasy world and going on a D&Desque adventure with some strangers you met in the game. You’d kill monsters and shoot the shit trying to forget your problems. You’d meet interesting people and talk with them about basically anything like we sometimes do here on the forums.

.hack//sign is basically an emulation of that experience. It doesn’t really follow a plot though it has one technically. What it is more of is enjoying the fantasy landscapes, the atmospheric music, and watching how strangers slowly get to know each other and help each other escape from their real life problems, if only for a little while. It’s basically like watching people stream EverQuest just with some nice music in the background and a loose goal to determine where they will go in the game. .hack//sign is basically like an ASMR anime.

Me: "Eww, the second season of Mahoromatic isn't cel animated."
Mahoromatic: "The new maid is really cute though."

Edit:

Finally watched Blue Submarine No. 6. They played up the antagonist like his raison d'etre was some profound moral test for all sentient species so much I feel like I must've missed something that would make any of it make sense.

Oh that makes sense.

In this case I heard it was a good way to make stuff like asphalt sealer brittle so you could get it off, but I got lazy and just left my old work pants in a sealed bag in there for the last couple months until I needed them again yesterday.

Now they have even more asphalt sealer on them so they can go back in the freezer again. XD

Paramount actually listened to the criticism and fixed Sonic. New trailer is much better than the first.

There's a part of me that still thinks they were playing 4D chess since they knew any live action Sonic was going to look weird so they made the first one look super extra bad so the actual one would be more readily accepted.

That's the kind of marketing strategy I'd be proud to have pulled off.

So asphalt is a polymer or the common term "plastic".

What happens when you lower the temperature on polymers (plastics) is that they become glassy/brittle. Official term is "glass transition temperature".

Basically think of a pile of warm spaghetti. If you throw it at a brick wall it is still a pile of warm spaghetti with the same consistency.

If you freeze said spaghetti and throw frozen spaghetti at a brick wall you will get chucks of frozen spaghetti and you can't really piece it back together.

IE this is what happened to space shuttle challenger the the suspected Oring used to seal the liquid was not rated for low temperatures and thus froze and became glassy without the chance to deform like it is supposed to.

Glad I'm on the right track and not freezing my pants for no reason.

Although for the next couple days at least I could just put them outside instead. It's getting nice and chilly.

Finally read Quintuplets. Miku is still best girl but Nino is making it difficult to stay on this team.

Eatsuki is still just kinda there.

I’ll never leave team Miku. She was good from the beginning and only got better as time went on. Nino isn’t bad mind you, but she just doesn’t have that stability that Miku does.

12 year old me, probably would have went for Yotsuba. 14 year old me for Ichika. 16 year old me, definitely for Nino. But adult me, knows that Miku is the only right choice. ... then again Sailor Mars has been my waifu for like the past 23 years or so. I loved her then and I still love her now... so maybe I’d have chosen Miku back then too? Who knows.

Itsuki is cute but I think she won’t be into her own until she finishes college. She’s the late bloomer. I can see her becoming like Kana from Sensei why are you here? Though. Or maybe Mafuyu from Bokuben.

Miku was kinda stagnant in the middle but has gotten some nice development in the last few arcs. I'm honestly surprised by how much the girls have changed. Makes me feel bad that only one of them can win in the end.
